"Bruce and Y/N, please come to the briefing room for your new mission." Fury's voice boomed, making you jump in surprise.
You closed your laptop, getting up off your swivel chair.
It was kind of odd that Fury would send you and Bruce on a mission. Alone, especially! Why wouldn't he send the rest of the team on this mission? And why would he chose to send the two shyest members of the team?
Bruce sent you a small wave as the both of you stepped into the elevator, pressing one of the buttons.

"Ah, it's about time. Sit down please." Fury stated and the both of you sat in your respective seats.
He placed a black suitcase on the table and opened it, turning it towards you.
Inside, two gold rings, a couple of manilla files, and about 200,000 dollars in cash lay nicely in the suitcase.
"Now, there is a small town house in Houston, Texas that we assume is a Hydra safe house. You two will have to go undercover as newlyweds and live in there for about a month to uncover weather or not it actually is a Hydra safe house." He explained, pulling up a picture of the assumed safe house.
"After careful consideration, S.H.I.E.L.D mission operatives have decided to not send you by the team's usual fighter jet. Instead, we have paid for a first class terminal flight to Texas. Good luck, agents." He finished as he pushed the suitcase towards you.
You picked the gold diamond ring out of the case, slipping it onto your finger.
"It shouldn't be that difficult, right?" Bruce smiled, taking his ring.

"That will be $14.39, ma'am." The cashier chirped and you handed her the money.
Both of you had made it through security successfully, and were currently eating at the partially crowded food court. He was sitting at a table for two, waiting for you to return with food.
You grabbed your tray and brought it back to the table.
"Here's your sandwich."
"Thanks." He replied, taking a couple of bites.
You two ate in silence for a couple minutes, chewing quietly.
"We should hold hands." He said, looking up at you.
"Why?"
"We're supposed to be newlyweds, right? Don't they usually hold hands?" He wondered and you nodded. His warm fingers entwined with yours under the table, giving your hand a tight squeeze.
You rested your head on his shoulder sighing lightly.
"Zoe told me that it is very hot in Texas this time of year." You blurted out.
"No shit. She calls it Satan's armpit, for Christ's sake." He chuckled, taking another bite of his sandwich

Zoe was right on it being super hot in Texas. Both you and Bruce were sweating buckets by the time you brought the last suitcase in.
The inside of the assumed safe house was actually quite nice. Various books were stacked up against each other on the large bookshelf in the living room, and the white leather couch shone in the moonlight leaking from a nearby window.
"I'm going to go take a shower, make sure to unpack your stuff while I'm gone." You yawned, trudging towards the bathroom.
Bruce watched you as you left, inspecting you. Maybe it was just his imagination, but something in his mind told him that this would be no ordinary mission.
He grabbed the bags and rolled them to your shared room, unzipping his once he got there.
He glanced at your bag, reaching to unzip it. Suddenly, he pulled his hand away.
It is rude to look through somebody else's bag.

You quickly turned the shower off, getting out and wrapping a few fluffy towels around your body.
Luckily, the small house was stocked with all of the necessary needs that a safe house is usually stocked with, except for food, which what Fury gave you the money for.
You put your (h/c) hair up in up in a towel and trotted to your room. The jet lag was getting to your already weary mind, and all you wanted to do was sleep.
You were slightly surprised when you found Bruce in your room with only a white tank top and boxers on.
"There was only one bedroom." He said, messing with his already disheveled black hair.
"U-um, I need to get dressed. W-would you mind...um.." You stuttered, clutching onto the towel that covered your torso and private areas.
In front of most people, you would cover up your shyness, in order not be known as the 'weak' teammate. But in this situation, when it was just you and him, your shyness shined through your confident facade.
Bruce nodded, blushing as he turned around, facing the headboard of the bed.
You slipped on a baggy t-shirt over your (f/c) undies, the shirt covering your butt as you sat down on the bed.
"I can sleep on the floor, if you want." He blurted out, looking into your eyes. When he started to stand up, you grabbed his shoulder.
"Bruce, we still don't know if this house it actually bugged. As newlyweds, it would be less suspicious if we slept in the same bed." You stopped him, a small blush appearing on your face as you said the last sentence.
Bruce hesitated before climbing into bed with you, his body heat making the bed even warmer than it already was.
"Goodnight, Y/N."
"Goodnight, Bruce."
