LUCY
"You are not getting me on one of those." I said to Lockwood while pointing at the blue and white jet ski. Sure they could be fun but at the same time dangerous and scary. Yet wasn't that the same description of my job?
"Oh come on Luce!" Lockwood whined and pulled on my arm. He was slowly pulling me toward the boat.
"No." I said trying to squirm away from him but to no avail. "You said that this was a good surprise." I whined. And yes it kinda of was. It was me, Lockwood, George and Flo today. No Holly because she had a wedding to go to. (Yes!)
"There's only two jet skis so you and me will ride together and George and Flo can ride together. You won't be alone. I can drive!" He said cheerfully while swinging my arm back and forth.
"That's what worries me. You as driver!" I said
"Come on pleeeeaaaassssseeeee Luce!" He said giving me the puppy eyes.
"Must...look...away... Must refrain from looking in...eyes!" I said jokingly. He laughed and tugged harder. Finally I gave in.
"YES! You will not regret this Luce!" He said while pulling me towards the boat.
"Wanna bet?" I mumbled under my breath.
He got down to the dock and held out his hand for me. I took it great fully. When I was finally on he jumped down in front of me.
"You might wanna hold onto something Luce." He said while firing up the engine.
"What!? Theres nothing to hold!" I screamed. He laughed and began to drive. I grabbed the first thing that was available, his torso. Hanging on for dear life I pushed my face into his back as the wind wiped and crash at my face. We drove for a solid 8 minutes before Lockwood slowed down and cut of the engine completely. I looked around and could see nothing in all directions.
"Lockwood where are we?" I asked fearfully.
"Calm down Lucy were fine I told you I got this right?" He said cheerfully. He got up and swung his legs around until he faced me completely. The boat shook and rattled. I got scared and grabbed Lockwood's shirt and pulled his closer.
He chuckled and wrapped his arms around me protectively. It felt good to be so close to him. I sighed out a breath of relief and snuggled into the curve of his neck slightly. I heard his breath quicken and become raspy. I pulled back.
"Sorry!" I said a little to forced.
"Luce don't apologize because my male hormones are everywhere!" He chuckled.
" you're what!?" I asked/screamed.
"Listen Luce, there's something that I've been meaning to tell you for quite some time now." He said looking at the water
"Please elaborate." I said.
"I think, that Im, in love." He stuttered
I stayed silent.
"With you." He finished.
I didn't honestly know what to do. So I instinctively put my hand on the back of his neck. He looked away from the water and into my eyes. I smiled and came closer. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me even closer. Finally the space between us was no more and the tension was high.
My fingers played with his soft hair and he played with the bottom of my tank top.
"I love you too." I whispered and sealed the distance between us quickly. His hands went up the back of my shirt and roamed my skin. I cupped his face and pulled him in deeper. A shiver went down my spine and I could feel Lockwood smile under the kiss.
When we pulled apart we were both panting and smiling so much I felt as though my lips would fall off.
"God your beautiful." He whispered.
"Not really." I said looking down.
"Dont put yourself down Lucy. You truly are beautiful." He said and I could tell that he meant it.
"Thank you." I said cupping his face and sealing the space between us once more
