Chapter 1

Life

Remember me? I'm Bailey, the one who got pregnant at 17 by a gang member I love. He's 18 and can be a jerk, but he's a great father and loves his two kids Jason and Isabella very much. Here's another story of our last year in high school.

Marco's P.O.V*

Bailey blew out her birthday candles with a smile. It wasn't a big party, with just her friends and closest family. I held Jason and Bella in my arms, struggling a little because of their wiggling. Mrs. Hartlem, Bailey's mom, took out the candles and placed them on a napkin. Bailey came over to me and took Jason, relieving me some. I gave her a kiss on the cheek and watched Mrs. Hartlem cut the cake so everyone could get a piece. My cell rang and I took it out to answer it. It was Chase calling.

I was just about to answer it when Bailey snatched it away. I gave her a confused look and she just frowned.

"You promised no calls on my birthday. Just you, me, the kids, and my birthday party."

"But..." I started.

"You promised."

I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Fine." She began to shut it off and I groaned. Hopefully it was nothing important.

We put the twins down for a nap and ate our cake. After, Bailey opened presents. She loved every single one of them, especially the one from me. It was a simple locket with a picture of the four of us inside. She gave me a hug and kiss after thanking me so many times. I've been able to afford a lot more things with my new job. An old man at a corner store had experience with people like me. People who are always up to no good, or end up having kids young. I'm grateful for my job, and never risk being late.

Soon, everyone was gone, leaving the Hartlem's, me, and the twins. Bailey was sitting on the couch feeding Bella, and I played with Jason.

"Do you feel any different?" I asked her.

"Besides being a new mom, no. I feel the same as before. Why, should I?"

"No, just wondering."

"Did you feel any different?"

"I felt annoyed because I was grounded. Other than that, no."

It came night time, and I put the twins down. Luckily, they were tired at the time. I came from the nursery and went to Bailey's room. She was just putting on her pajamas, her back to me. I came up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist.

"They're asleep." I told her.

"Okay."

"Ya know, we haven't slept together since the twins were born. That's a little long for me. So tomorrow do you want to come over to my place? We can get your mom to baby sit."

"I'm nervous. I'm afraid I'll get pregnant again. I want more kids in the future, but that's way into the future. I guess I just want to wait a while."

"It's been a while! Come on, I'm dying! Give me something."

"If you love me, you'll wait." I groaned and stripped down to my underwear.

"You had to pull that didn't you? Is this supposed to be a test?"

"No. It's what I want us to be. In love. I don't want you to want me for sex? I want you to love me and care for me."

"I do. I honestly do. I'm not going anywhere."

I climbed into bed, and Bailey came after. I wrapped an arm around her and held her close.

"I wish I could've stayed over before. I like the feeling of this." I said.

"Me too. I feel like we're a married couple. But, my dad hates this."

"Whatever. He'll get used to it. At least until you move out."

"I'll move after we graduate. If you make it past this year. You barely made it last year."

"But I made it. I always make it."

"But you're 18 going into 12th grade. You had to have failed."

"When you were in 2nd grade, I failed 3rd grade. That's why we're in the same year."

"Wow, you failed 3rd grade." She laughed.

"That was a tough year for me." I defended.

"Whatever you say."

Bailey's P.O.V*

I woke up the next morning, still a little tired. The twins kept waking up, needing things. Marco was still asleep, to no surprise. I took a shower and came back to get dressed. I was surprised to see Marco no longer in bed. Suddenly, I was grabbed from behind. I screamed, almost dropping my towel. I heard Marco's laughter behind me.

"Jerk." I said. "I almost dropped my towel."

"So, It's nothing I haven't seen before."

"That's not the point. Go take a shower. You smell like baby vomit."

"I'll take that as a compliment." He left to go take a shower.

I dressed in shorts and a t-shirt. After, I went to go get the twins since they were up. Jason started smiling and kicking his legs when he saw me.

"Hey Jason." I said. "Mommy came to save you from boredom. Now you can go play with your toys."

I carried Bella and Jason downstairs. I laid them on the floor, on their stomachs. They're trying to crawl, and don't like to sit in things. I placed some toys on the floor for them and then turned on the TV.

Soon, Marco came running down the steps. He smiled when he saw us, and came to sit next to me.

"Now I think you're just teasing me." He said.

"What are you talking about?"

"Short shorts? I want you so bad, but you won't let me have you. Come on, just today. It's been months. I'm not used to it anymore."

"You mean ever since your coping method? You got some everyday, now you want that to continue with me?"

"Well... pretty much, yeah."

"Uh uh, I don't think so."

He sighed and looked down at the twins, playing on the floor. He bent down towards them, and Jason looked up at him.

"Your mom is being mean to me. She doesn't understand a guy's needs. When you get a girlfriend, make sure she understands." Jason smiled at him and Marco smiled back. I punched Marco in the arm and he jumped, sitting up straight and giving me a confused look. "What?"

"Don't teach him your bad ways. We want him to be a good child. And I'm not being mean. I'm being reasonable."

"We'll use protection. And you're on birth control now. You can't beat that."

"I'm still nervous."

He groaned and stood up, walking into the kitchen. He may be mad, but I don't care. I'm not ready to sleep with him again just yet. I can't help but feel pressured by him. I don't want him to be that type of boyfriend. That just pushes me away. But I'll talk to him about it.

The doorbell rang so I got up to answer it. No one else seemed like they were coming to get it. I opened the door to see Kassia and Hannah with smiles on their faces.

"Hey guys." I greeted. "Come on in." They came in and walked over to the twins, each picking one up and holding them. "I guess I don't have to ask the reason you're here."

"Sorry. We came to see you too." Kassia said. "But we wanted to see the little ones too."

Marco came from the kitchen and glanced at Kassia and Hannah, then he looked at me.

"Where are you going?" I asked him as he was opening the door.

"Work. I have extra hours. I'll see you later."

"Okay. Love you."

"Yeah." Then he walked out the door.

Marco's P.O.V*

I walked out the door, leaving Bailey with her friends and the twins. I lied saying I have extra hours. I'm thinking about asking for extra hours, but for now I'm good. I honestly just need some action. If Bailey isn't going to give it to me, I have to look somewhere else. I love her with all my heart, but I need more than just her mental love. I need physical love too.

I drove to the mall and parked the car. I went inside and went straight to Hollister. I might see some girls in there and I might buy something. I walked in and walked to the back where the couches are. I sat down and put my ipod in my ears. I leaned back and my favorite song by Drake came on, I Get Lonely Too. I put my head back and closed my eyes, letting the music drown everything else out.

Maybe what I'm doing isn't such a great idea. I've worked for Bailey's trust and throwing it away may not be the best idea. This could actually be my last chance. Not being able to see my kids would kill me. Maybe I should just wait it out. How could I have even thought about this? I'm such a jerk.

I shut my ipod off and tucked it back in my pocket. I stood up and began to walk towards the exit. I walked out the door and as soon as I turned the corner, I ran into someone. I heard their things crash to the ground. I studied the girl in front of me. She looked to be 16 or 17. She had short brown hair that came to her shoulders. She had big brown eyes and pink lips. Her skin was fair and I couldn't help but stare at her. She looked at me and blushed, going on her knees to pick up her things. I slowly went down to help her.

"Sorry." I apologized.

"N-no, it was my fault." She stammered. She picked up the last thing and quickly stood up. I stood up and just looked at her.

"What's your name?"

"Uh... Jessica. I have to go." She took off towards the opposite end of the mall.

I shook Jessica from my mind and headed out to the parking lot. I got in my car and drove to work since it was about that time. Mr. Jenkins doesn't like if we're late, and only gives us three chances. Luckily, I haven't gotten a strike one.

I parked outside of the store and got out. The closed sign was still facing the outside. I went inside and heard rummaging around.

"We're not open yet. Come back in 20 minutes." Mr. Jenkins said. I walked in farther, to see him rummaging around in a box.

"Hey Mr. Jenkins." I greeted. "What are you looking for?"

He looked up at me, his glasses falling off his face. "Oh, hey Marco. I'm Just looking for my medicine."

"In a box?"

"Well, I was looking through here yesterday and I may have dropped them in here."

"Do you need any help?"

"No, no. I just need you to open up for me."

"Alright."

I flipped the sign to open and went to stand at the register. Mr. Jenkins was still searching through the box, and I could help but think they weren't in there. I walked through the store and finally found them in the fridge with the eggs. I sighed and took them out, carrying them back to Mr. Jenkins.

"Mr. Jenkins. I found them." I said. He looked up and pushed his glasses up on his face. He took the bottle from me and examined it.

"Huh... Well where were they?"

"You left them in the fridge. You must've left them in there while putting the eggs in."

"Well, thank you Marco. You get paid extra for today."

"Thanks Mr. Jenkins."

I listened to my ipod until I heard the bell above the door to the shop, ring. I pulled the headphones from my ears and stood, waiting for the person to check out. The person came up to the counter. They looked familiar, but they were looking down. The girl took out her wallet as I rang her things up.

"That's 8 dollars." I said. She looked up and handed me a 10 dollar bill. I noticed that she's the girl I ran into at the mall. I smiled and took the bill. "Hi." I greeted. She blushed again. "Why do you keep doing that?"

"D-doing what?" She asked in a small voice.

"Blushing. You blush a lot."

I put the 10 dollar bill in the register and gave her money back. I bagged her things and handed the bag to her.

"N-no reason."

"And you stutter a lot." I rest my elbow on the counter and rest my head on my hand..

"It's nothing. I have to go." She turned to leave, but I grabbed her hand to stop her.

"Wait. I'm just curious. I don't bite."

"I just... don't get talked to by guys who look like you. I tend to get nervous and run off."

"Why would you do that? You're gorgeous. I'd definitely go out with you."

She blushed even more and I couldn't help but laugh. I can't believe she doesn't think she's pretty. What type of guy would pass her up? You'd have to be an idiot to do that.

"So this is what you do at work all day?" I heard Bailey ask. I jumped and let go of Jessica's hand. Bailey had a hurt expression on her face. The twins were taking a nap in their stroller. My heart began to race and I panicked. "You hit on girls when you have a girlfriend and two kids? How dare you?" A tear ran down her cheek.

She began to leave and I quickly ran around the counter to chase after her. I left Jessica standing there, not caring where she went. I have to explain that I wasn't cheating, just giving a compliment. I try to be nice for once, and I get in trouble.

I saw Bailey loading the twins up. I could hear her crying. I rushed over to her and took her hand. She pulled away and glared at me, her cheeks wet from tears.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't doing anything wrong." She tried to hit me but I caught her hand before she made contact. She tried to hit me with her other hand but I caught that one too. She struggled to get free but I held tight. "I swear I didn't do anything. I was just giving her a compliment. I wouldn't risk losing you again."

"You were flirting."

"Yeah, I do that. It's not intentional, it just happens. It's like a reflex. I love you, and there's no one else I say that to."

"A reflex?"

"You know my past. I used to flirt with girls all the time. Cut me some slack. It's what I used to and it's easier to start conversation. I'm trying to be a good guy. I really am."

A small smile came to her lips and I smiled back. I slowly released her hands, letting them drop to her sides. I leaned in and kissed her, resting my hand on the small of her back. She kissed me back, moving so our bodies were pressed together. She moved her hand up to my neck and pulled me closer. She then moved her hand to my hair and tugged.

I reluctantly pulled away, remembering where we are. Jason and Bella were still asleep, but now in their car seats. I remembered that I'm still on the clock and this is all probably coming out of my paycheck.

"As much as I hate to leave you, I have to work. Te amo."

"What does..."

"I love you."

"And that was easier than saying it in English?"

"Yeah because it was only two words."

"Well... I guess. Love you too. See you later." I gave her one more kiss before leaving to go back inside.

I went inside and Jessica was gone. But I guess it was for the better. I don't want Bailey to get mad at me again. But there was also two people waiting in line. I rushed over to the counter and began to ring people up. Usually when people come in here, I get strange looks since they know of my usual activities. But hopefully people are starting to trust me more. Though I'll probably do something stupid to screw that up. With me, anything can happen. But it's usually for the worst. Let's just see how this school year goes. I have a feeling that it's going to be a bumpy ride, especially with the twins here.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I couldn't wait any longer to write about these characters again. I made it seem like it's taking off from where it ended. And I don't know if I should keep Jessica. I don't think I will since I already have too many characters. Tell me what you think of the chapter. I'm back in school so chapters might be upload every other Friday. I'm typing another story so this won't be posted as often. =(
