With a puff of weak breath, I stood up and resumed my trek, continuously putting distance between myself and the man who had single-handedly torn me apart, soul from mind, heart from chest.

(Author's Note: This chapter is from Kylo Ren's point of view)

_____

"Nira!" I shouted through my mask again.

How dare she? Defy me and then escape from me? I was furious. I was raging. My face was hot and my breathing was heavy.

Does she not realize that I am her direct owner? That I am above her?

"Nira!" I yelled louder, and my voice was shaking with fury.

Only the sounds of the nature replied to me. I could sense her presence somewhere in the eastern direction, but Beyzuno was a vast forest with several paths and even more hiding spots. I knew that if she didn't want me to find her, I wouldn't.

One thought was faint, but somehow prominent, in the back of my mind. My main concern at that moment was finding Nira and returning her to our secret location, but another growing concern was the fact that Nira had pushed The Force off of her. I had had a secure mental grip on her and I was bringing her down but she resisted it.

I stared into the dense trees, knowing that there was no hope going in after her. My frustration grew to an explosive level and I viciously whipped out my lightsaber. The humming red blade grew to it's full extent.

I let my rage out with a distorted, monstrous scream and I swung my lightsaber brutally on a thin tree. The tree was easily sliced by the buzzing blade and it fell to the ground beside me, but that wasn't enough to soothe my intense wrath.

I slowly and ferociously worked my violent way to every tree in the clearing, destroying, burning, splitting, and screaming. Finally, when I reached the original sizzling stump, I stopped. All I could do was breath heavily and stare at it. I knew, deep down, that I had to calm myself and take some course of action.

Call the base? No. They will think I'm weak if I can't handle a girl that's not even half-trained. They aren't as sure of her potential as I am; they don't know of the inner power she possesses.

Go after Nira? No. She's too far gone and the wilderness is too dense to know which way to go. She's too far away for me to exactly pinpoint her location.

Destruct more? No. I need to learn to control my anger. Not to mention this base is not very secretive anymore, due to my own calamitous tendencies.

Do . . . Nothing? Not an option. I need to either --

. . .

What is that I sense?

. . .

I sense nine -- no, ten -- blurry shapes approaching.

What are they?

They are getting nearer very quickly . . .

What are they?

I can see one of them, in my mind, of course, and it's getting clearer by the second. It's a . . . It's a ship. Ten ships that are nearing at an aggressive pace. But whose ships? Who would come to Beyzuno, especially to this deserted sector? It makes no sense. I will --

The Resistance.

In my mind, one of the ships had focused enough and I could see their clear label, their clear sign. They were reaching Beyzuno at alarming speeds. The Resistance could only need one thing on Beyzuno, and it just happened to be alone and helpless.

They were coming for Nira.

My heartbeat spiked quicker by a hundredfold and my blood began to race. Oh, why did she have to run away?!

I instantly took off into the forest, following the faint paths The Force was indicating me to follow. I did not tire in the slightest -- that's one of the biggest physical advantages of being trained to use The Force. Unlimited endurance.

I sprinted through the woods for several minutes at top speed, all the while my mental directions on where to find Nira becoming clearer and clearer.

I continuously sensed the ships getting closer. My hologram began to gently buzz in my belt, and I pulled it out just to see what could possibly interrupt my mad dash for Nira.

If I didn't get to her before The Resistance did, they would take her, and there would be little chance of getting her back. The thought of this caused my arms to pump faster, my legs to whirl around quicker.

I opened the hologram. It was Hux. What could he possibly want at this time?

"Kylo Ren. The Resistance is on their way to Beyzuno right now. I suggest you flee, and return to the base." He calmly spoke. I had searched his mind before. I knew that he wanted Nira either dead or far from the base. I knew he was angry that he hadn't won the council session. I knew that he didn't care what happened to either Nira or myself right at this moment. If The Resistance were to kill us, he would not be concerned.

It wasn't difficult to speak back to him. I was not out of breath. Like I'd mentioned earlier, I have unlimited endurance. "I am working on it."

I shut off the hologram and continued sprinting on the now crystal-clear path on my way to Nira. I had perfectly identified where she was.

I looked up to the sky with worry and saw them. The ten ships descending in the atmosphere. Seeing the ships increased my adrenaline greatly, and I raced faster through the nature. My blood pumped wildly through my veins, my breaths came out short and hyperventilated, my heart drummed maniacally in my chest.

I could hear the hum of the ships' engines, and they were reaching the ground faster than I had anticipated. I was beginning to get extremely worried that I wouldn't get to Nira before they did.

I moved one foot over the other as fast as I could. That's when I heard her scream. A long, drawn-out, Nira-sounding scream. My blood curled inside of me and I my stomach dropped.

The balls of my feet barely hit the ground before I pulled them back up and drove them over the other foot. I sprinted as fast as I possibly could and burst through a dense thicket into an open field.

Another heart-wrenching scream. I looked up and what I saw caused anger to explode in me.

The ten, large, white ships were hovering in a tight cluster in the air directly above the field. Nira was being pulling into one by a metal grated cage attached to a laser. The laser moved fast, reeling her into the ship.

I acted immediately. I extended my hand and began to use The Force on the laser. The cage stopped. I couldn't see Nira through the mesh but I could make out another of her screams that I could hear above all of the loud engines. A little of the worry was relieved from me when the laser began extending towards the ground. The Force was working. I was controlling the cage!

Then they started firing at me. I heard the sound before the bullets reached me and I extended my other palm, putting up a small invisible wall using The Force to protect myself. The Resistance continuously shot at me. I was able to hold back a few rounds of the bullets, but in order to preserve my own life I had to release Nira's cage so I could block the rest of the oncoming waves of bullets. My heart sunk in my chest as I ducked back into the forest. I had failed.

The sound of more shooting reached my ears and bullets flew past me. They glazed and pierced trees all around me, but I was not hit. I watched through an opening in a tree's low branches as the cage was pulled into the ship and all of the ships began to rise. I felt the contradicting sinking feeling of defeat and rising feeling of anger.

I had failed in rescuing Nira. I was in shock. I had never failed a mission before, assigned by myself or anyone else. I abhorred the feeling. I felt like there was rain all around me that relentlessly splattered on me. I felt like I was being held down by a thousand shunning hands. I felt helpless.

I had failed in stopping The Resistance. I wanted everyone involved in The Resistance dead. My fists were clenched with pure animosity. Not only did I want them dead, I wanted to be the one to murder them. All of them. I was filled with a fiery enmity directed at every single living person in The Resistance. In that moment, I had a terrifying ravenous urge to hurt all of them.

I extended both of my palms, aiming them towards the ships. My fury was insatiable. I began using The Force to rip the ships to the ground. I took the first two down immediately. The ships rocketed towards the ground and the sound of the massive explosion was music to my raging ears and mind.

The rest of the ships had taken off, evading my attack. I stood for a moment, watching the burning remains of two of The Resistance's ships and thought, this was no time for me to rest. I turned and immediately began sprinting back towards the secretive base that Nira and I had shared for such a short while.

I ran at top speed for a full forty minutes before I reached my own ship. No sense in staying on Beyzuno where there was no Nira to protect. I climbed onto the ship and hastily turned on all of the controls, igniting the engine.

The ship levitated off the ground and a high-pitched whrrrrr greeted my ears as the ship shot into the sky. I zoomed through space, not bothering to try and follow The Resistance ships, knowing (bitterly) that they, and Nira, were far out of my reach.

I headed towards The First Order's base.

I almost felt a little sorrowful for the people who would greet me upon my arrival. Little did they know they would soon be dealing with a horrendously livid Kylo Ren.
