Wait what? I feel like that's my motto lately because that's all I've been thinking...'wait what?'. But I was confused, what had Xander just said to Josuee. I looked to the both in wonder, my brow furrowed.
They were glaring at each other and almost having a private conversation. I latched onto Xander's arm and his tense body relaxed slightly. "What did you say?"
"IT'S NONE OF YOUR CONCERN MAID!" Josuee interrupted me before I heard a thump. My eyes widened when Xander's fist connected with his jaw. He stumbled back in shock and held his face.
WHAT THE WHAT? HE ALWAYS TELL ME NOT TO HIT! BUT YET.... I let out a sigh. H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-T-E.
Josuee stood back up properly and I expected him to throw a punch but he did nothing. "I told you not to talk to her like that" Xander's voice was calm again, "Milania get the rest of your stuff, I'll wait here for you"
I watched Josuee for a moment but when he made no movement I nodded my head slowly. Peeling myself away from Xander, I side-stepped Josuee and left the room.
I didn't have much, only two suitcases. I had one already packed and the other half. Then there was just the box.
It didn't take me long before I finished packing the second one and dragging it downstairs. Josuee would have to ship the box to me.
I didn't feel safe though, why would he give me over so easy after being so reluctant at first? When I reached the bottom I was stood in front of Josuee who glared down at me. "Milania, are you sure you don't want to change your mind?" He wasn't asking me, it came out more as a threat.
I held my breath, watching him, "I-I'm sure. Thank you for letting me serve you" I dropped my eyes to the ground but he grabbed my chin roughly, jerking my head up. I raised my eyes to look at him, my heart pounding in my chest.
Xander suddenly appeared behind Josuee. His eyes dropped to where Josuee's hand held my chin roughly. Realizing Xander's presence, Josuee let go of me with a low growl.
Xander reached for my suitcase while I gripped to the other one tightly. Xander nodded his head toward the door, indicating for me to go first. He really didn't trust Josuee.
With a small glance me behind me, I left the house silently. I made my way down to Xander's car before hearing Josuee shout, "You're going to regret this Hawke"
Xander didn't even respond to the threat but instead just followed me. He placed both my suitcases in the boot of the car before walking to the passenger side and opening the door for me. I hopped in quickly and he shut the door gently before walking to the other side and getting in.
I looked back to Josuee's house but the door was now shut. "How did he get home? I don't see a car" I studied the area but Xander didn't reply. I gave him a side-ways glance,"What did you whisper to him?"
He didn't even look at me, "Nothing important"
"Nothing important? Xander.. Josuee doesn't give over so easily so whatever you said is important"
"No, it's not"
"What? Are you gay and whispered sweet nothings into his ear?"
He finally looked at me, arching an eyebrow, "Seriously?"
"Seriously"
He shook his head with a quiet chuckle. He wasn't going to tell me. "You know honesty is an important thing in a relationship"
"Relationship?"
"A friendship relationship!"
"I suppose it is"
"So tell me"
"No" Wow... ok then.
I decided to give him the silent treatment as a stab of revenge.
"Silent treatment? That's not a punishment Mils, I don't have to listen to your annoying voice"
My eyes widened and I snapped my head to him, "EXCUSE M-"
I stopped when I saw the huge smirk on his face. He was winding me up again, he got me to break the silent treatment. I gritted my teeth, letting out a frustrated sigh. This guy.
He pulled the car up to a shop but didn't get out. "What are we doing?"
"I want to watch a movie tonight, let's get some snacks"
"Are you hinting for Netflix and chill?" I scowled, "You're not getting anything if you don't tell me what you said to him"
He didn't reply just left the car with a light chuckle. I followed suit and chased after him into the store. We began walking toward the snack aisle before he paused. His body went rigid and his eyes widened before quickly grabbing me and pulling me back.
I stared up at him in shock. What the hell was happening?
"Xan-"
"Shush" He pressed his finger to my lips and dragged me around another way, "They're here" My heart began pounding when he said that. Who was here? Were we being chased, why the hell were we being chased?!
"Who?" I hissed but he didn't say anything until I asked again. He didn't look back at me but spoke, "Evangeline a-"
"Oh, I want to go say hi to her, I need to apologi-"
"No" He dragged me back, stopping me from walking forward. I struggled to escape his grip to no avail, "It's not just Evangeline"
"Not just Evangeline?" My brow furrowed before realization hit me, "IS HER NEW MASTER HERE?!" He clamped my mouth shut with his hand, shooting me a glare. I may have said that a bit loud but probably not loud enough for them to here.
This only caused me to struggle more in his grip, "I wam to swee hm" Xander gave me a confused look, not understanding my words. I peeled his hand from my mouth, "I said I want to see him. Why are we being so secretive?"
He stood up straight, a blank look on his face, "I don't know, just act casual. Do not even snap at him or do anything, do you understand?" He sounded so serious that I just nodded my head.
He stiffly walked forward and almost crashed into one of the hottest guys I've seen. After Xander of course. He kind of looked like him in a way. Not really, he looked nothing like him but did at the same time. What was I saying?
His eyes met Xanders but he didn't say anything. He took a step back, creating distance from them.
"Xander" His voice was deep.
"Seth"
His eyes flickered to me and eyed me up and down. "This is Milania" Xander informed.
"You have a girlfriend?" Seth asked Xander although his eyes were on me.
"I'm his maid actually" I held out my hand, "It's nice to meet you" He didn't move for a moment instead just looked to Xander. They shared a look before he stiffly reached out and shook my hand.
"Did they force a maid on you too?" Seth asked but Xander shook his head.
"No, I stole her from Henry"
"Why?"
"Does it matter?"
There was silence so I quickly filled it, "So, you're Xanders uhm.." I calculated it in my mind, "Second cousin, right?" He nodded his head in response.
"I'm guessing you know" Seth spoke to Xander.
"About your new maid? Yes. Where is she?"
Just on cue, Evangeline came around the corner. Her eyes widened when she spotted us, they were flicking between me and Xander. Relief spread on her face and a huge smile appeared. What was that all about?
"Hello Evangeline" Xander greeted her and she responded with a quiet 'hi'.
Seth glanced down to her just as she looked up at him. "Uhm, I found the chargers, Sir" Seth frowned.
"I told you not to call me that" His voice was rough, "Then go get them" Wow... this guy! I was about to unleash angry Milan but Xander wrapped his hand around mine, telling me not to. I bit my tongue obediently but didn't stop the death glares.
Evangeline nodded her head and hurried off. Seth glanced down to where Xander had my hands intertwined with his, "She's just a maid? Nothing more?"
Xander didn't respond to the question, "You should treat Evangeline with more respect, Seth"
"Xander" Seth said nothing but his name before letting out a sigh, "I'm going, it was... nice talking to you"
Liar.
He turned away and followed the direction Evangeline went.
"What a dickhead"
