Laundry
With the whir of the machine,
it starts.
Colors that were once evident
now are obscure.
Water pours and disappears,
slowly soaking into the layers of cloth
inside.
Liquid soap
invisible,
but it makes its entry
with the presence of bubbles.
I walk away with a basket,
empty from what was taken out,
and let the machine start
the laundry cycle.
