Kaitlyn's POV
"I know it's not much. But it's just a start," Percy, my half brother told me.
I hadn't grown up with him. I never knew him until 20 minutes ago. Crazy right?
My mom never told me about him. Or about what I was. I'm a powerful demigod. Daughter of the sea God, Posiden.
Percy and I shared a room. There was only one room in the cabin anyway. I slept 2 beds down from him, on the top bunk. The wall next to it was bare. The bed had never been touched because there was dust all over it.
"I can get you New sheets at the camp store, if you want," Percy offered. I just nodded and tossed my duffle bag on the bed. It freaked loudly. I knew that would annoy me when I moved around in my sleep.
"There are competitive games today. I like playing in them. Everyone will be there. Getting is discouraged but it always happens," Percy informed me.
"Okay. I just need to change," I pulled myself up on the top bunk. Percy nodded and left to give me privacy. I picked out a plain white t-shirt, jeans, and my black beanie. I also put on some boots.
I walked to the game stands. As I did I got a lot of attention. Mostly male though. Most females we're glaring at me like I was there worst enemy. I brushed back some of my blonde hair behind my shoulder.
Guys were practically devouring me with there eyes. I took a deep breath to swallow up the nervousness and stepped up the stands.
I looked for an empty seat and noticed on towards the top. I went up 3 more steps and walked down the aisle.
It reminded me of the bleachers back at school. Except these are stone and the ones at school were wooden.
I took a seat and surveyed what the game would be. (A/N if you've watched the Percy Jackson: Sea of monsters that's the game they are playing. I'm not sure how to describe it).
"Hey, you're Perry's sister, right?"
I was startled out of my trance by a voice next to me. She was really pretty in a Tom boy way. She had a choppy brown hair cut and brown eyes.
"I'm Piper," she introduced.
I smiled and said, "I'm Kaitlyn."
Piper looked next to her because someone called her name. She said something back quietly.
She turned back to me and leaned back a little.
"These are my friends Nico, Annabeth which is Percy's girlfriend, Leo, and my boyfriend Jason."
Each person waved at me. Piper said, "Jason and Leo don't want to sit ' by themselves' even though we are sitting as a group, so I'm going to move down."
I nodded and she stood up to walk down the aisle. I scooted over so there would be more room for the people sitting on my other side.
I looked over at the first guy Piper introduced. His name was Nico. I stared at him and waited for him to look at me. Most single guys would. I messed with my hair a bit to fix it. He still wasn't looking at me.
I wasn't good at talking to New people. Most people just talked to me. But I didn't want to be awkwardly sitting there. I guess a lot of new things were happening in my life. Finding out that I'm a half God, that I have a brother, and having to get out of my comfort zone.
"Hi, I'm Kaitlyn," I said to Nico.
Nico finally looked about me and whoa. He was gorgeous. He had a strong jaw line for a 16 year old. His hair was a mop of black sweeping over his forehead. His eyes were brown but it was so dark that it looked black.
"Nico," he said. He looked nervous for some reason. He really had no reason to be. Especially if it was because of me.
The games hadn't started yet. So I started up a conversation.
"So, who's your godly parent?" I asked curiously.
"Isn't it obvious?" Nico quirked an eyebrow as he said it.
I have him a confused look and he gestured towards his clothes. He was wearing a black t-shirt and dark ripped jeans. I noticed a skull ring too.
When I didn't answer he did. "Son of Hades, God and ruler of the dead and Underworld."
That made sense. I blushed and changed the topic. We talked a lot. Through the whole game. I didn't even care that we missed most of it.

Over 2 years later
Around 18 years old
We were older. Closer than before. We were close to graduation. I was excited and nervous because we would have to go to the real world. Nico and I became very good friends. I had a slight crush on him but he didn't know. But I liked everything the way it was and I didn't want it to change in case he didn't like me back.
"Oh come on, Nico. That girl was so flirting with you," I said.
"No she wasn't," he laughed out. I rolled my eyes. Sometimes Nico was so clueless about the reactions he gets from females and some males.
Its not like with us. After awhile of us talking we became really close friends. I just noticed that he didn't give anyone a lot of attention because he was oblivious of anyone's intentions.
Suddenly Nico pushes me over on the bed. Him on top with me gasping. I wasn't expecting that. Nico tickled me till I couldn't breath.
He stopped when I couldn't breath.
"What was that for?" I asked.
"Teach you for rolling your eyes at me," Nico said while sticking his tongue out like a child.
I smirked and did something he didn't expect. I flipped him over so I was straddling him. As I did so our pelvis collided. Nico's eyes darkened but neither of us commented. I rested my hands on his chest. His were on my hips.
Nico then asked something I didn't really expect.
"Why are you friends with me?"
I just gave him a confused look. "Because I love you, Neeks."
We've said it a lot. It was normal for us. Sometimes it felt a lot stronger for me to say it becaus dog how I really feel for him.
"Why?"
"Because you're hard on the outside but soft on the inside. Because you are wicked smart. You're stronger than anyone I've known. Because you went through the deepest darkest part of the Underworld on your own and came out alive. Because you have a heart of gold and care for everyone. Because of your sarcastic sense of humor. Because you actually wanted to get to know me and you don't see me as just a pretty face. I love you because you are you," I said honestly.
Nico tightened his grip on my hips.
"Kaitlyn, I'm in love with you," Nico said out loud.
I was surprised if course. I never expected that. Not from him. I always thought he was oblivious to how I felt.
When I didn't say anything he sat up.I was still sitting on his lap. His face was suddenly so close. His breath smelled like the candy I knew he loved. He looked me in the eyes as he leaned forward slow, like he was waiting for me to back out.
I closed my eyes and waited. Finally he kissed me. I waited a few seconds before kissing back hard. He kissed me just a passionate. I knew this was the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

5 years later
Around the age of 23
This was the day. The day I would marry my best friend, Nico di Angelo.
I was excited of course and nervous. My brides maids helped me with everything. They were my friends, Hazel (Nico's sister), Piper, Annabeth, and Clarisse.
Piper was my maid of honor. Annabeth was a close second because she was Percy's wife. But Piper had first introduced me to everyone, even my fiance. Which was about to become my husband.
Percy waited for me at the church doors. I held onto my bouquet tightly Because I was nervous about tripping. Percy held out his arm and I took it.
"You ready," he spoke quietly.
I took a deep breath and nodded. Slowly the doors were opened. Heads turned, all of the attention was in us. I was used to it when I was younger. I didn't care about anyone's attention but his. He was staring at me. His eyes widened and he wore a giant grin. I smiled at Nico, showing my teeth.
I blushed as we got closer. Nico held his hand out. I paused and allowed Percy to kiss my cheek and hand me off to Nico.
I took his hand and he helped me up the small steps. I looked him in the eyes and tuned out most of the introduction. It didn't really matter. All that mattered was that I was staring at my everything. My future. My best friend, Nico Di Angelo.
