Chapter Thirty Two – Liam
Liam grins as he carries Bella through the airport, tugging Zayn along behind them, "you know I'm going to find out where we're going as soon as we get to where we're boarding, I can read you know" Zayn huffs. Liam laughs, "I know you can read babe, and that's fine just don't tell her, I want to surprise her" he soothes. Liam can't see him but he knows Zayn is rolling his eyes "fine" Zayn grumbles, and Liam pulls him slightly closer, as they weave through the airport towards their gate. He's taking Zayn and Bella to Disneyland in Paris, and he's arranged for Bella to have unlimited access to all the princesses and other characters while at the park. Liam himself loves all things Disney and he loves to go to the parks with his family, but it has always been his dream to bring his own family, and he knows he, and Bella and Zayn, aren't technically a family yet, he's excited all the same. "Where going Daddy?" Bella asks for the tenth time since they arrived at the airport, "you'll find out soon" Liam soothes and she huffs, sounding exactly like Zayn as she does.
Liam watches the exact moment Zayn figures out where they are going, his eyes going wide before he turns to Liam, "seriously?" he asks and Liam grins, nodding his head "yup" he answers, popping the p. Zayn rolls his eyes but doesn't say anything else and Liam isn't sure whether that means he's in trouble or not, but he doesn't have long to dwell on it, because they're being called to board the plane. Liam hands over the tickets and the flight attendant winks at him, and he can feel Zayn tense beside him, "enjoy your trip" she coos, "thanks" Liam replies, wrapping his free arm around Zayn, as they head through the gate. They're settling into their seats when Zayn speaks again, "she was totally flirting with you" he grumbles as he buckles Bella in, Liam chuckles leaning over to peck Zayn's lips, "too bad I'm taken, then" he murmurs. Zayn blushes and ducks his head, as he settles into his own seat, Bella's in between Zayn and Liam, holding tightly to the doll Liam brought back for her.
The flight isn't long, and Bella is surprisingly well behaved for the whole thing, Liam passing her his tablet to play games on, as soon as it was allowed, and the toddler becoming engrossed in the device. "You didn't have to do this" Zayn mumbles as they're waiting to get off the plane to head to Disneyland, Bella still has no clue where they're going, and Liam can't wait to see her reaction. Liam shrugs "wanted to" he murmurs as he scoops Bella into his arms to carry her off the plane, Zayn grabbing their carry on bags and following closely behind. Liam leads the way towards the baggage claim, grabbing their suitcases quickly and then turning to Zayn. "There's going to be a car waiting to take us, the rest of the way, alright?" he asks, Zayn huffs, and Liam can tell something is upsetting his boyfriend, but decides not to push it.
Liam locates their driver immediately, he's holding a sign that says Liam Payne, in bold letters, Liam makes his way towards the man, adjusting Bella so he can offer his hand for a handshake. The driver takes it willingly, and with a grin, "this way Mr. Payne" he says and Liam turns to make sureZayn is still following before following after the man. Once outside their driver, who Liam still is unsure of his name, reaches for the suitcases, and other bags in both Liam and Zayn's hands, placing them carefully and with practised ease into the trunk of the large car. He then opens the door, and Liam grins, as there in the back, as requested is a car seat for Bella, he places her into the seat, strapping her in before climbing in beside her, Zayn climbing in on the other side. "My name is Henry, and we should be at your destination soon" the driver says as he pulls away from the curb, "merci" Liam murmurs, glancing at Zayn who is busy staring out the window at everything flashing by them. Liam's sure now that something is bothering his boyfriend, and he's determined to figure out what it is once they're settled in their hotel.
Liam chuckles as there's an audible gasp from both sides of him as they pull up to the hotel, it's right in the park and you can see the castle from here, "princess?" Bella asks, turning to look at Liam and Zayn. Zayn turns from the window he's been staring out the whole ride, "yeah, baby girl princesses. Do you know where we are?" Zayn asks, Liam grins as Bella shakes her head, "we're at Disneyland" Liam supplies, watching as Bella's eyes widen and she bounces a little in her seat. Liam's not sure she really understand where they are, or what's happening, but she's excited all the same, and it's amazing to see. Zayn on the other hand still looks sceptical and like something's bothering him, he's smiling, but there's a look in his eyes that's making Liam uncomfortable. Henry stops, just outside the entrance and a younger man immediately approaches the car, "welcome, may I help with your luggage sir?" he asks as soon as Liam's feet touch the pavement, "of course" Liam smiles gesturing to where Henry is pulling the bags from the car, the man nods, before running around to help. Zayn is there suddenly, scooping Bella out of her seat in the car and holding her close to him, Liam wants to ask him right then, what's bothering him but knows better.
It doesn't take long for Liam to check in and get their keys before leading Zayn, who is still holding Bella close, onto the elevator and up towards the top floor where they're staying. Once the doors close and Liam knows their alone, that it's just the three of them he looks at Zayn curiously, "you alright?" he asks carefully. Zayn sighs, shrugging his shoulders before looking at Liam "later, okay?" he asks, Liam nods slowly, "yeah, later" he murmurs, as the doors open on their floor. Liam opens the door and hears Zayn and Bella both gasp, he'd asked for the best suite the resort had, and he got it. The room is something straight out of a Disney movie, with free Disney merchandise everywhere. The sitting room is huge with a view of the castle and a few doors leading off of it, to the bedrooms, and bathroom. Liam watches as Zayn takes in the room, before opening one of the doors, it leads into what will be Bella's room during their stay, which also has a view of the castle, "Baba, down" Bella whines, squirming until Zayn sets her down and she can run to look at all the stuff on her bed. "Look, toys" she exclaims happily as she examines all the Frozen and Tangled stuff sitting on her bed, there's also clothes, towels and snacks, but Liam knows the toddler is distracted by the Anna doll in her hands.
They leave Bella in the room to look at the rest of the suite, Zayn sinking down onto the couch after checking out the other rooms, dropping his head into his hands, so he's looking at the floor. Liam carefully moves so he's sitting beside Zayn, who looks at him shaking his head, "Liam, I- this is too much" he mumbles, "you didn't have to do all this" Zayn adds before Liam can speak, and suddenly Zayn's mood makes sense. "Zayn look at me" Liam says softly, waiting for Zayn to look up and into his eyes, "you're right, I didn't have to do this, but I wanted to" he starts, reaching out to grab Zayn's hand in his own. "I wanted to do this because you and Bella deserve it, and because I wanted to do something with you guys. Plus I love you Zayn, and you work so hard, you deserve a holiday" Liam adds. Liam can tell Zayn wants to argue, and he knows the younger is going to say something, but Zayn just sighs nodding, "I just this is all so much, and so new to me Liam, I guess I'm just...I can't do stuff like this for her on my own, you know. I guess I was feeling kind of jealous when I found out where you were taking us, and then when I saw where we were staying. I'm sorry I'll figure this all out and be happier for the rest of the stay, yeah?" Zayn rambles. Liam frowns, because Zayn has nothing to apologize for, everything he said was valid, "hey, you don't need apologize, if anything I should be saying sorry for not clearing all this with you first, yeah?" Liam soothes. Zayn sighs shaking his head, "no the surprise was great, and Bella is so happy, I just need a few minutes, please?" Zayn asks, standing up. Liam watches as his boyfriend disappears into the bathroom a moment later, hopefully just to gather his thoughts about all of this.
Zayn's been gone for five minutes, and Liam is about to go find him, to check on him, when Bella comes bounding out into the room, a couple new princess dolls clutched in her hands. She looks happy, her hazel eyes sparkling, as she grins at Liam "Daddy? Where Baba?" she asks confused eyes darting around the unfamiliar room. Liam grins and reaches out for her, pulling the toddler into his lap, "Baba's just in the bathroom, love, what did you need?" he asks quietly, not wanting to try to explain Zayn's mood to the toddler. Arabella bites her lip and waves the Rapunzel doll in Liam's face for a minute before she sighs pointing out the window towards the castle, "go see?" she asks, hopefully. Liam chuckles and gently moves the doll, so the hair will stop hitting him in the face, "we'll go explore soon, okay? We need to get settled first" he explains, Bella huffs, and pouts her lip but nods and slides off Liam's lap. "Where are you going?" Liam asks curiously as Bella heads back towards the room, "settle" she says simply, before disappearing into her room. Liam shakes his head laughing as he watches her go, before he gets up to go find Zayn, he gets no response when he knocks on the bathroom door, so he pushes it open to see another door leading to the master bedroom. Liam sighs and makes his way towards the bedroom, tapping on the door lightly, before pushing it open and stepping inside.
Zayn's kept the room dark, so it's hard to see, what's going on, but there's a heap under the blankets, on one side of the bed. Liam frowns and makes his way towards the bed, sitting beside the heap that he knows is his boyfriend and rubbing his back. Zayn shifts instantly under his touch, and removes the blanket from his head "you alright?" Liam asks gently, as he takes Zayn in. Zayn shrugs, pushing himself up so he's sitting and leaning into Liam a little. Liam takes this as a good sign and wraps an arm around Zayn, "I'm fine, sorry" Zayn mumbles and Liam furrows his eyebrows. "You have nothing to apologize for, I get it, yeah" Liam soothes, Zayn sighs, "this is all new to me, sure Louis has always spoiled, Bella, and me a little, but it's never been like this. I'm just scared you'll think I'm taking advantage of you" he murmurs. Liam frowns at that, because it's ridiculous, "Zayn, I know you aren't taking advantage, you didn't even know about this trip. And I do this stuff for you guys because I like to, and I want to. So please stop worrying about this and come enjoy the awesomeness that is Disney, please?" Liam asks. Zayn bites his lip as he thinks before nodding slowly, "yeah" he mumbles "we should probably go see what Bella's doing, before she destroys the hotel" he adds. Liam laughs at that and nods, standing up and pulling Zayn to his feet, "just know you can always talk to me, about whatever is bothering you. We'll figure it out together, okay?" Liam soothes, Zayn grins at him nodding his head, before he's surging forward and pressing his lips on Liam's. Liam is surprised at first, but doesn't hesitate in wrapping his arms around Zayn and kissing him hungrily.
They walk into Bella's room a few minutes later and both of them groan in unison, Bella has 'unpacked' her suitcase, for lack of a better word. Liam's eyes dart around because she wasn't alone that long, how had she managed such a mess, all her clothes are strewn everywhere in the room, making it look like a bomb went off. "How?" Liam asks Zayn who shrugs, "welcome to hurricane Arabella" he chuckles. Liam looks around the room again, before his eyes land on the toddler, who is sitting in a pile of the stuff the park gave them on her bed. "Baba, Daddy, I settle" she exclaims, when she sees them in the room, "did you ever" Zayn murmurs, stepping away from Liam to approach the girl. "But Bella, look at the mess, we need to clean this up" Zayn explains gently, Bella pouts and looks to Liam, batting her eyelashes, but he shakes his head taking a step back, knowing he'll give in if he looks into her eyes for too long. "No Baba, you clean, Bella play" Bella tries, shaking her head at Zayn. Liam watches Zayn shake his head gently, "no, Sweets, you need to help me" he says. Bella huffs but gets up, handing Zayn a pair of shorts as she does, "thank you, Bella" Zayn hums as he takes the offered clothing and drops them back into Bella's suitcase. It only takes a few minutes to clean up the clothes and Liam is thankful, because he's as anxious to go explore the park for a bit as Bella is.
