emily pov
"we're pregnant em." alison said.
i swear it was like music to my ears.
i smiled so brightly, "baby." i said and kissed her.
she smiled, "you're happy?"
"god of course i am doll face. i love you. and i love this baby." i said, placing my hand on her stomach.
i smiled brightly and so did alison.
"what baby?" victoria asked.
i smiled, "go in the den. and get your brother." i said.
i took alison's hand and smiled, kissing her lips ever-so sweetly.
we sat on the love seat and they sat across from us.
"what's going on?" elijah asked.
i smiled and alison squeezed my hands.
"well. you guys we have some big news. i'm pregnant." she said.
their faces lit up.
"we're gonna have another brother or sister?!" they said in that creepy, twin, same talking thingy.
we laughed, "yes! are you excited?" i said.
"YES! when will the baby come?" tori said.
i smiled and rubbed her brown hair, "not for a while sweetheart. around 9 months." i said and frowned.
she groaned, "can we get one now?"
i laughed, "sorry princess. it doesn't work that way. but hey. it's june 12th now so in....march next year. you'll meet your new little brother or sister." i said and smiled, kissing her cheek.
she nodded, "okay."
"now get some sleep. last day of school." i said and smiled.
they ran upstairs and i turned to alison.
"em i love you." she said out of the blue.
i chuckled, "what made you say that?"
she shrugged and shook her head, "i don't know...you're just so good with them. they love you and you're elijah's hero. you're a great mother and an amazing wife. i just thought i should say that i love you for that." she said, completely truthful.
i smiled and pecked her lips, "i love you too baby."
next day
emily pov
"what do you mean?" i asked.
"i am moving devon to a two-guard. i want you to help him."
i sighed, "that might not work."
"just try emily. you two are the best players on this team. i need you two both out there, winning our games." bobby said.
i nodded, "okay. i'll talk to him." i said and stood up, walking to the court.
i saw devon shooting balls and i put my bag down.
"i heard coach moved you to two-guard." i said.
"what's it to you 13?" he said rudely.
i scoffed, "he wants us to work together devon. he wants me to help you."
he chuckled, "you're going to help me? please. i know what i'm doing." he said.
i nodded, "alright. then show me." i said and got a ball.
he shrugged, "alright."
i had the ball and he tried to steal it but i rotated my body, went around him and shot, 3-pointer.
he sighed, "again." i said.
i pretended to shoot and he jumped up but i just backed up and shot from farther, right in.
he grunted and tossed the ball to my chest, but i caught it anyways.
"one more." i said.
he glared at me and he backed his foot up.
i went into him and tossed it under his legs, running around him and getting the ball, jumping up and dunking, grabbing onto the rim.
i jumped down and he hung his head.
"how about now? need my help?" i said.
he nodded, giving up and i smirked, "okay. so when there's a man right outside the..."
game time
"devon over here!" i shouted.
he threw me the ball and i went up and dunked.
everyone screamed and cheered as the score was 76-57.
we are winning finally and devon and i are playing amazingly together.
"let's go boys bring it in!" bobby yelled.
we ran in, "alright. devon, you're gonna get the ball and get it to emily. emily you're going to get double teamed most likely, by 26 and 47. when that happens, devon run up behind her and grab the ball, pop it up and emily, make that last slam. 1, 2, 3."
"EAGLES!"
i clapped, "LET'S GO!" i said.
devon smiled and we high fived, "let's do this."
i looked at my family and alison was cheering and smiling.
i winked at her and smiled at my kids.
we ran the play and i, like bobby predicted got double teamed.
i saw devon and bounced the ball behind me, he grabbed it and i sprinted under the net and he threw it up.
i leaped in the air and it was as if everyone fell silent.
i lifted my arm in the air and it grabbed the ball, slamming it into the net.
i got to the ground and the stadium erupted in loud cheers and screams.
i smiled and the buzzer went off.
devon ran over, with the team and jumped on me.
i laughed and we went into the locker room.
"nice work you two. a scout wants to talk to you two." bobby said and smiled.
i looked at devon and we high fived and hugged, "nice." we said.
we got dressed and walked out.
"hi, emily fields and devon fox. norman burris. i wanted to talk to you two..."

i walked out of the stadium and smiled at alison.
she ran over and jumped on me, "oh!" i said and smiled, hugging her and spinning her around.
"emily you did amazing! and there was a scout i heard?" she said excitedly.
i nodded, "yeah. they said they'd call so." i said and smiled.
"em that's great! let's get home and see when that call comes. you're gonna get it." she said and smiled.
i nodded and grabbed elijah, "you can do it mommy." he said and kissed my cheek.
i chuckled, "thanks bud." i said and smiled.

my phone finally rang and i answered, "hello?"
"emily fields?"
"yes?" i said.
"this is norman burris. we just wanted to let you know that we're sorry. we decided to take devon up to our team. he will be joining us on the lakers."
i felt a knife jab into my heart.
"oh wow. it's okay. thank you for calling. devon is a great player." i said and nodded.
"bye emily." he hung up and i sighed as i felt all of the pain.
"you okay? who was that?" alison said as she sat up.
i sighed, "the scout. they pulled up devon." i said and looked down.
"oh em i'm so sorry. i know how hard you worked. god i really thought they'd pick you." she said, rubbing my arm.
"yeah...i guess i just got to work harder." i said and sighed.
she pouted and kissed my cheek, "you'll get it one day. i can feel it emily."
i nodded and smiled, "it's okay. i'm okay. really." i said and smiled.
she nodded, but i could tell she was still very worried.
next day
"hey mom. when you get back to philly, tell devon that he needs to stop shooting so much, okay?"
"devon's not there buddy." i said and grabbed clothes.
"how come? did they fire him?"
"he's playing for the lakers now." i said to elijah.
"they called him up." i said as i grabbed socks.
he came down from his head stand on the bed, "when are they gonna call you up mom?"
"i don't know elijah. maybe never." i admitted sadly.
"it's okay. at least you're still an eagle." he said and smiled.
i nodded, "yeah."
before practice
"emily. coach wants to talk to you..."
"about?" i asked.
he shrugged, "he didn't say. but it seems serious."
i nodded, nervously and walked to his office.
at home next day
i walked into the house and when alison saw me she jumped and laughed, "you scared me. what are you doing home?" she said and chuckled.
i sighed, "remember that blue dress you wore to visit my mom in texas a few years ago?"
"yeah. why?"
"you looked amazing in that dress. you said your got it from philly. i was thinking maybe we can take a trip there together. with the kids. you can wear that dress."
"emily what happened." alison said, knowing something was up.
i sighed, "i'm not on the eagles anymore." i admitted.
she teared up and put the dish rag down, "i'm so sorry. it's okay baby." she said and walked but i stopped her by talking, "what do you say alison lauren? take the boy and girl to philly. maybe see an NBA game?"
she scratched the back of her neck and looked behind her.
"i mean, i kind of have to be there anyway considering...i'm the 76ers new point guard." i said.
alison looked at me, tears still welling.
"what?"
i smiled and nodded, "i'm the point guard for the philadelphia 76ers..." i chuckled as my eyes teared, "i got called up." i said.
she smiled and pointed at me weakly, "you're in the NBA?" she said, her voice cracking.
i smiled, "i'm in the NBA." i said and exhaled.
she looked down and teared up, sobbing softly and smiling.
i laughed lightly as i almost cried and walked over to her.
she put her head in her hands and i hugged her.
she wrapped her arms around me and i smiled, "oh...thank you." i whispered.
we pulled away and i gazed into her eyes, "thank you for believing in me alison."
she laughed, "thank you for being worth it."
i laughed and smiled.
i kissed her and hugged her.
she jumped up, wrapping her legs around my waist and squealed happily.
i saw the tv, "elijah! tori! come down here!" i shouted.
they walked down, glued to their DS's.
"what?"
"sports is on." alison said and we sat on the couch.
"so? i got wifi on my phone?" elijah said.
"watch it. you'll like it." i said and chuckled.
alison laughed and they got on the couch.
"last night the philadelphia 76ers quietly made a move that most sport fans wouldn't have noticed. adding a point guard to their roster for the rest of the season." the news guy said.
i looked at the twins and then at alison who just smiled at me.
"but we're leading with that story because this point guard is a local legend."
alison looked at them too and smiled.
"who overcame adversity and difficult circumstances in pursuit of a dream. last night philadelphia 76ers called up a former rosewood shark, a great girl and a good friend of everyone's. emily fields."
elijah and tori's eyes shot up.
elijah stood up slowly and stared at the tv.
"kids. hug your mom cause she just made it to the NBA."
we turned the tv off and smiled.
"elijah." alison said.
victoria smiled and they both screamed, "I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT!" they jumped on me and i laughed, "Ohhh!"
i smiled and hugged alison, kissing the side of her head.

alison pov
"OUT OF ALL PEOPLE THAT COULD BE HERE WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU?!" i screamed.
"everybody is at work! emily is on her way i promise. just...can you suck it back up there?" hanna said.
i was sweating as i was in the hospital room.
"SUCK IT BACK IN?! YOU CAN'T FUCKING SUCK IN A BABY! THAT'S LIKE TELLING ME TO SUCK A BUS BACK INTO ME!" i screamed at her, not dealing with her annoying voice right now.
"i'm sorry! i'm trying to help!"
"WELL YOU'RE NOT HELPING!" i yelled loudly.
the door opened, "i'm here! babe i'm here." emily said and took my hand.
i smiled happily, "oh good." i said and teared up.
"how was practice?"
"good. but enough about me."
she looked up, "hanna get out of here." emily said.
"right. have fun." she said and left.
"em. it hurts." i said and whimpered.
"i know baby. you've done it twice before. you can do it again. i know you can babe." she said, taking my hand and kissing it.
"alright mrs. fields. push." the doctor said.
i screamed out as i pushed and pushed.
i gripped emily's hand tightly and screamed and screamed louder and louder until those angelic cries filled my ears.
"it's a girl!" he said and smiled.
"can i see her?" i whined.
he handed her to me and i smiled.
perfect blue eyes and a small blonde patch.
"olivia. olivia hanna fields." i said and smiled.
"really?" emily said.
"do you like it?" i asked.
"yes. i love it ali. but hanna?" she said and laughed.
i smiled and teared up, "i don't act like it but i do really love my sister." i said and smiled.
emily put my hair behind my ear and kissed me, "i love you. and i love you angel." emily whispered and smiled.
"she looks exactly like you gorgeous." emily said and smiled.
i looked at emily, "i love you so much emily fields. i can't wait for her life to begin. with us. the fields family." i whispered.
"god this journey has been so treacherous. but it was so worth it all." emily said and smiled.
the doors opened and hanna walked in.
"hey."
i smiled, "hanna. meet olivia hanna fields." i said.
she looked at us like we were ghosts, "what?"
emily nodded, "you heard us."
she smiled, "you guys. t-thank you. i love you so much." hanna said and smiled.
i handed olivia to emily and held my arms out and hanna hugged me, "i love you so much sis. never forget that. no matter how much you bother me."
she laughed and nodded, "i love you too alison."
"want to hold her?" i asked.
she nodded and emily handed olivia carefully to hanna.
"i'm your auntie hanna. and guess who's going to totally spoil you? i am. i can't wait until you're older."
"mommy? mama?" elijah and tori said.
we smiled, "come meet your new sister." i said and hanna gave her back to me.
"she's so tiny." elijah whispered.
i smiled, "come hold her." i said and he got on the bed.
i carefully gave him olivia.
"careful now buddy." emily said.
he nodded and looked down at her and smiled, "hi..."
"her name is olivia." i said.
"hi olivia. i am your big brother. and if anyone goes near you you just tell me okay?" he said.
i laughed at his protectiveness over her already.
"i promise to always protect you no matter what." he whispered and lightly kissed her forehead.
i smiled, putting my hand to my head and looking at emily.
she smiled, proud of the boy we have raised.
"hi olivia. i'm your big sister victoria. and i promise that when you are older. i will drive us around to the mall and i can give you my old clothes."
i smiled and closed my eyes.
