Marcus Charles stood gloriously in front of me, still waving his hanky. I took it and blew my nose. His face scrunch up in disgust, I snorted.
"Don't worry, I'll wash it before returning it to you." I assured him, still chuckling.
"So you do know how to laugh, I thought the only thing you knew was cry." He mocked.
That stopped me from laughing, "I do know a lot of things. Thank you very much." I retorted, crossing my arms across my chest.
He smirked, "That just turned me on, big time." He said as he slightly tilt his head
My face turned red, heck my whole body turned red at his remark. His smile widened at my reaction, which dazzled me a bit. Did I say dazzle?
Oh. My. Cheeseballs.
Can he get any hotter? I averted my gaze away from his face to avoid further embarrassment.
"See you around, crybaby." I heard him say before leaving me alone in my lustful thoughts.
Get your head straight Samantha, he may be hot but he's sort of just an infatuation. I scolded myself.
"Making Calvin jealous huh? nice move. I think it's working." Julie said, suddenly appearing behind me.
"Can we talk?" I blurted out.
Julie looked at her watch, "Sure, we still got 10 minutes before lunch break is over. And besides you got a lot of explaining to do."
We went back to the cafeteria, thankfully Calvin already left our table.
"So.." She waited.
"I'm so sorry for behaving like a bitch these past few days. I've been ignoring your calls and messages, I know I'm a terrible bestfriend. I'm really really sorry." I said, apologizing.
She nodded, "You don't need to apologize Sam, I know you have a good reason for acting that way. Care to tell me?"
I bit my lip, earlier I promised Calvin I wouldn't tell Julie. Oh well, the only thing I promised him was I wouldn't tell Julie how he feels about her.
"Um. I acted that way because, well.." I fidgeted under her scrutinizing look. She could be intimidating when she wanted to.
"Spill it Sam, I won't bite you know." She encouraged.
"Calvin doesn't like me back the way I like him." I said, avoiding her pity look.
She immediately hugged me. "That sucks. Are you okay? That's a stupid question, of course you're not okay. Why would you go through it alone though? You could have told me." She blabbered on, releasing me from her embrace.
She searched my face, I could only put on my poker face. Then an idea formed in her head.
"Oh my God!! Is there another girl in the picture? Did he like somebody else? We could sabotage her!! Make her life miserable!! Is she a student here?" She asked bombarding me with these silly questions.
One way to describe her right now: CLUELESS. And I thought she's smarter between the two of us.
I honestly didn't know how to react. I wanted to laugh at her. A bitter laugh would do. I wanted to scream, he likes you!!
Though I hated lying, I was good at it. "Julie, you're over reacting. He just said he liked me as a sister or bestfriend. I'm over him. I didn't tell you because it was a mess. I'm a mess." I finally said, somewhat lying to her face.
She hugged me again, "You're not a mess Sam." She cooed.
I let her comfort me this time, though I know deep down she's the reason why I'm hurting. And I hated myself for thinking that way.
