alison pov
i was in the kitchen when the door opened.
i turned around and saw sara.
"i need to get my stuff." she said.
i marched over, "it's in the garage. boxes are marked whore. i'll have the keys now." i said, holding out my hand.
she put the house key in my hand, "i'm sorry alison. i never meant for it to turn out this way-"
"did you go by my kids' school today?" i said angrily.
"they look at me like family. i was just saying goodbye." she defended.
i shook my head, "no. you are not family. i invited you into this home and i trusted you with the three most important things in my life. my wife and my kids. and you betrayed that trust." i said.
she came closer, "i know you're upset. just know that i never meant for emily to fall in love with me." she said and sighed, turning and walking towards the garage door to get her stuff.
i looked at her in disbelief, "oh honey." i said and followed her.
she grabbed her box and walked to the door, "she's not in love with you i can promise you that." i said and scoffed, grabbing the door as she walked out of it.
she smirked, "did she tell you she kissed me?"
"hmm?" she said and chuckled, "she didn't tell you did she? god that is so emily." she said and smiled.
she looked up at me with an evil glint in her eye, "well she did kiss me. and she was in the shower with me and she liked it. you see. she wanted me in that shower. i'm sorry that it's hard for you to face but it's the truth." she hissed into my face with a smirk on her lips.
i glared at her, "i told you once. and i am not gonna tell you again. stay the hell away from my family!" i shouted and slammed the door in her face.
i turned around and jumped.
elijah and victoria glared at me.
"i hate you!" they both shouted and ran away.
i closed my eyes and sighed.
"elijah! victoria!" i shouted and went after them upstairs.
emily pov
"so how are you and alison?" cece asked.
i sighed, "not talking."
hanna handed me a cup of tea.
"just give her time em. she'll come around. she knows you love her." hanna said and sipped her tea.
i sighed, "yeah...i just miss her. i really fucked up."
"emily. you did nothing wrong. sara is insane." cece said.
"i know but...we kissed." i admitted.
"okay. you're a dick." hanna said and pointed at me.
"well i didn't kiss back. she kissed me."
"and what did you do?" cece said.
"i just...stood there." i said and shook my head.
"and you didn't tell alison?" hanna said, getting angry.
"i didn't mean for it to happen! it meant nothing! i don't feel anything towards sara you guys! i was just scared to lose her. but i feel horrible. i love alison more than anything. i'd give up anything for that girl."
"emily you need to tell her." cece said.
"talk to her. fix your damn marriage emily." hanna said.
"because alison is my maid of honor and you are cece's and i really can't have you and alison hating each other at our wedding." hanna said.
i smiled, "really?"
cece smiled, "of course americano." cece said.
i laughed, "thanks for letting me stay here by the way." i said.
"of course. now go get alison back." cece said and shoved me out the door.
i laughed and ran to the house.
5 minutes earlier
alison pov
i tucked elijah in in his room.
"want me to read a story? how about dr. seuss? you like his stories right?"
"where's mommy?" elijah said.
i sighed and put the book back, "mama and mommy are just...having a little bit of a rough time right now. she's staying with aunt hanna." i said.
he frowned, "is mommy going to be sad again? like last time?"
i shook my head, "i don't think so. i hope not." i said.
"mommy stopped being sad when nanny sara started living with us. she liked nanny sara."
i exhaled deeply, "i know this is probably really hard for you to understand because you're so...little." i said and smiled.
"nanny sara wasn't a very nice lady and she needed to go away." i said and smiled, stroking my baby boy's cheek.
he turned his head, looking at the picture he drew of him and sara, "i wish nanny sara was my mama." he said and sighed.
i stared at him, pain shooting through my heart.
him and tori both said that to me...
the doorbell rang and i stood up and walked downstairs to find emily waiting at the door.
i opened it and she smiled weakly.
i didn't even say anything.
i opened the door farther and moved to the side, allowing her access inside.
"alison i'm sorry okay? and i'm sorry for the way this looks. but before you say anything, just know that it's my fault."
i sighed and walked into her body.
i sniffled, and put my head on my wife's chest.
she instantly wrapped her arms around me.
"i should have done something earlier. i should have said something to you from the start." emily said.
i sobbed quietly and pulled my head away slightly, "she said that you kissed her." i said and scoffed, barely smiling.
i pulled away and sighed.
i looked into emily's eyes and frowned.
"did you?" i asked, now suspicious whether it was true or not.
"mommy's home!" elijah said and ran over to emily.
emily pov
"hey buddy. what's up?" i asked elijah, faking a smile for the brown haired boy.
i put my hand on his shoulder, "um...mama and i need to talk right now, okay? so why don't you go out back and shoot around? you know what? try to make 5 free throws in a row and i'll be out there in a sec, okay?" i said and smiled.
he nodded and ran out into the back.
"it's a simple question emily. did you kiss her?" alison asked, nervously and sad.
tell the truth.
"no." i said.
alison sighed and looked down.
"but..."
she shot her head to me and my nerves flipped.
i shook throughout my body.
"she kissed me." i said, disappointed in myself.
alison looked at me in shock, "you looked me in the eye and you said that there's nothing else. you said there's nothing more." she spit at me.
"and i have been through a lot with you emily. i've been through better and worse, in sickness and in health but i will not do infidelity!" she shouted.
"it wasn't like that okay? i wasn't into her." i defended.
"you call kissing sara and being in a shower not being into her?"
"i didn't kiss her! how many times do i have to tell you that?!" i raised my voice now at alison.
"it wasn't me! it was sara!" i yelled.
"no! it's you! it's always you! when are you gonna learn? when are you gonna stop making bad choices that threaten everything that we've built?!"
"EVERYTHING I'VE EVER DONE WAS FOR THIS FAMILY ALISON!" i shouted at her.
she glared at me, "well excuse us for being such a weight around your neck." she spit at me.
"i didn't say that okay? you know i didn't mean that. don't put words in my mouth." i said, pointing at her.
"well somebody needs to because you have a really nasty habit of neglecting to mention important details." she fired right back.
"alison, you know what? i'm really trying hard to be honest about all of this right now. but sometimes for you, it's just never enough, okay? and i can't take it anymore!" i yelled.
"don't you dare turn this against me emily fields. you are at fault here." she said and pushed her finger towards my chest.
"it's really, really messed up, and it's my fault because i put so much pressure on you. and the best part is, you screw the nanny and the victoria and elijah end up hating me!" she shouted, her eyes teary.
"I DID NOT SCREW HER WHA-" i stopped talking and looked at an almost broken down alison.
she looked around, "where is he?"
she looked outside, "elijah!"
her eyes widened and i looked too.
"OH MY GOD!" she shouted and ran outside. i followed, sprinting.
"ELIJAH!" i shouted.
"ELIJAH!!!" alison screamed loudly.
i dove into the pool where my 6 year old son was, face down in the pool, not moving.
i grabbed him, "hey." i said to him.
nothing.
"oh! oh god! jesus! please oh my god!" alison cried out, her hand over her mouth.
"elijah!! he's breathing right?!" she shouted.
"i don't know!" i yelled, panicking.
i handed him to alison, "come here. come here. elijah." she said and held him tightly.
"elijah! elijah open your eyes!" alison shouted
he started coughing and we patted his cheeks, "elijah. honey wake up!" alison cried out.
he spit out water and i said, "buddy wake up. god please." i begged.
"elijah wake up." alison cried out again.
he opened his eyes and alison smiled, "okay. okay." she sobbed and held him tightly in her arms.
"alison i'm so sorry. i'm so sorry." i said and tears dripped from my eyes.
i reached towards elijah, but alison ripped him away, turning her back to me, "NO YOU STAY AWAY FROM US THIS MARRIAGE IS OVER!" she screamed.
"alison." i whimpered.
she sobbed into elijah.
"i wa-" she sobbed again.
"i want a divorce." she said and sobbed louder.
tears cascaded down my cheeks as i watched alison sob into elijah and kissing his head.
