alison pov
after dinner i stood up, "i'll clean up-"
"no it's okay. you rest. i'll clean." emily said, taking my hand into her hand, stopping me from taking the plates.
my heart fluttered at her thoughtfulness.
she slowly stood up and held herself up with the table and got into her wheelchair.
i smiled as the kids handed her the plates and everything.
she wheeled it to the kitchen and washed the plates and silverware herself.
"you guys were a part of this huh?" i said to the twins.
they giggled and nodded.
"it was mommy's idea."
i smiled and emily wheeled back to the table, making sure to clear everything off.
"alright guys. bedtime go." i said.
"awww. but mommm."
emily chuckled, "you guys heard your mother. go."
they grumbled out a "fine" and left to go upstairs.
i turned to emily and she got herself onto the couch, handing me a glass of wine.
"emily?"
"mmhmm?" she said.
i smiled, "thank you...for tonight. i can't believe you did all of this." i said and stared into her eyes lovingly.
she took my hand, sending off those fireworks and smiled, "i'd do anything for you...i wanted to show you that i would make up for the past 4 months. i know i have been an ass recently. i promise you that from now on, things will change." emily said, not breaking our eye contact once.
i closed my eyes, knowing that my emily was finally back with me.
"you don't know how happy i am that you said that." i whispered.
she took her thumb and wiped my tears away.
"i love you so much alison fields. and you have my word that from now on things will be different. i swear."
"hey mom!" elijah ran downstairs.
"hey. isn't it a little past your bed time mr?" i said.
"maybe. maybe not." he said.
i laughed and so did emily.
"alright. i'll tell you what bud. you can stay up for a little longer if you and i head out back and fool around with this thing huh?" emily said, pulling a smaller sized basketball.
he shrugged, "i don't know..."
"oh so you don't want to?" emily said, raising her eyebrow.
"no! i do!" he said and jumped up, taking the ball and ran outside.
"hey! it's cold and there's snow now! jacket!" i shouted.
he ran inside and grabbed the coat i held up for him and ran back out.
"come on mommy!" he shouted.
i laughed and emily looked at me.
"go ahead." i said.
she smiled and i helped her into her chair and she went outside.
i watched as elijah threw the ball into the mini hoop and emily cheered, "that's my boy!"
he threw it in again and emily smiled, "there you go. watch that arch though."
i smiled and put my hand to my heart.
emily looked at me and flashed the sweetest grin.
i smiled and tilted my head, admiring their bond.

"want me to set up the couch?" i asked emily.
"no it's fine. i'll come upstairs with you tonight...if that's okay?"
i smiled brightly.
"really?"
she nodded.
"yes. yes of course you can come upstairs." i said and wrapped her arm around my shoulder and walked her upstairs.
we got into the room and she sat on the bed, pulling her dress off.
she laughed, "can you help?"
i giggled and walked over, taking her dress off and her earrings.
"what you did tonight was so sweet." i said as i cupped her cheeks in my hands.
emily smiled and i pulled gym shorts onto her legs and threw her a shirt.
we got into bed and i turned my body towards my wife.
"i'm happy you are back. and you're smiling." i said and touched her smiling lips.
"i'm happy too."
"oh and by the way. i got a nanny." i said and turned around.
"you got a what?" emily said and laughed.
"a nanny. so she can take care of the kids at times."
"but what about me? why can't i?" emily asked.
i turned back and looked at her.
"as much as i love your effort babe. you're still disabled. i need someone to take them to school everyday, handle the things that you can't when i am at work."
emily sighed, "yeah i guess you have a point."
i smiled, "i know. goodnight emily." i said and kissed her lips sweetly.
she closed her eyes and smiled, "i almost forgot how amazing your kisses felt." she whispered.
"me too." i whispered back.
i moved so my head was on her warm chest that i missed oh-so much.
i closed my eyes and fell asleep to her steady heart beat.

"so this is elijah jesse fields and victoria estella fields." i said.
they smiled, "hi."
"hi you guys. i'm sara. i'm going to be your nanny." she said.
they shook her hand and i laughed.
"alison have you seen my phone anywhere?" emily crutched into the room.
"no babe sorry. want me to call it?" i offered.
"yeah sure." she said.
"oh right. sara this is my wife, emily fields. emily this is sara harvey, the new nanny."
emily smiled and shook her hand, "hi. nice to meet you sara. thanks for helping out here. as you can see...it's kind of hard to."
sara laughed and i called emily's phone.
i heard the ringer go off.
"em! found it!" i said as i walked to the phone on the couch.
i got it and handed it to her.
"alright. i have to go to the store. i'll see you two monsters later." i kissed my children.
"and you, i'll see tonight. i love you so much. call if something is wrong okay?" i said and kissed her lips.
she smiled, "okay. i love you too." emily said and let go of my hand.
"bye sara! if anything happens please don't be scared to call. emily knows my number and it's in your phone too. have fun guys." i said and left the house.
emily pov
"hey emily?" sara asked.
"yeah? what's up?" i said as i held the ball up in the air while victoria and elijah jumped, trying to get it.
"i didn't get a chance to shower last night after i went to the gym. do you mind if i use yours?" she asked.
i smiled, "yeah sure. upstairs, third door on your right. towels are in the closet in the bathroom." i said.
"thanks. you sure it's okay?"
"yeah of course. have fun." i said and winked.
i laughed and she giggled, walking upstairs.
"alright. go!" i threw the ball and they ran to it like dogs playing fetch.
cece pov
"hey ali can i talk to you?" i said as she walked into the back of the store where they were taking my measurements for a new outfit alison and hanna are making.
"yeah sure. shoot." she said and stitched the dress up to fit.
"i want to propose." i said.
she stuck a pin in me as she jumped and i cried out.
"ouch!" i shouted.
she jumped up to her feet and smiled brightly, "i'm sorry! but cece! that's amazing! oh my god!"
"jesus. keep your damn voice down woman. the air isn't sound proof." i scolded.
she giggled, "sorry. but okay i will help you. no sad, drop the ring and box on the floor, heartbroken proposal."
i laughed, "ha. ha. funny."
"i just...i want it to be special. something that means something to hanna. i want her to remember it...that is if she even says yes..." i said and chuckled nervously.
"oh please. you two have been together for 7 years. aside from that break up. it's about fucking time you popped the question. she'll say yes." alison said and scoffed.
i laughed, "wow."
"okay so. hanna likes fashion and romance...we all know that. i say, you two fly to paris and you propose on top of the eiffel tower!" she said and smield.
i scoffed, "alright. can the budget be under 3 grand?" i asked.
alison laughed, "sorry. that has been my dream proposal...okay how about you take her to the movies and watch a scary movie and put the ring in the popcorn!" she said.
"that is a terrible idea. no way in hell."
"in her food at a restaurant?"
"alison! she practically inhales her food! if i put it in food, she won't get the ring until a few hours later!" i shouted.
"ew gross! visuals!" alison said and shut her eyes, shaking her head.
"okay fine. how about-"
"you know what? never mind. i will figure it out. by myself." i said and got off the step stool and took the dress off, dressing into my regular clothes.
"but i want to help!" alison pouted.
"don't worry! you did! now i know what i'm not going to do!" i said and gave her a thumbs up, leaving.
