Justin's P.O.V.

A week has went by since that scandal at school. That day, Selena and her mom came to my house and took all her belongings. As if it were nothing, they just left. Selena didn't even bother saying goodbye to me. Although it wasn't like I would never see her again, I still wanted a farewell.

Besides lunchtime during school, I haven't spend much time with Selena. She's been getting into more trouble than usual. Being her boyfriend and all, my first instinct was to stop her. But I know this is her way of expressing herself and her intentions. I just need to figure it all out before I start making assumptions and try to put a stop to something I have no clue about.

I have also been busy NOT packing my belongings. My mom scolds me every morning of how I need to start now so I don't do everything last minute. But I won't pack a thing. If I did, that would be approving this movement, which I don't.

"Justin, breakfast is ready!" My mom calls from downstairs.

Not this again. I make my way downstairs, sighing. I used to look forward to breakfast. Breakfast time was the only time my parents "gossiped", although they didn't consider it gossiping because that isn't appropriate. But now, they seem so distant. We all avoid eye contact or any other interactions. I might as well eat alone.

"Good morning," they both greet me as soon as I walk into the kitchen.

"Morning," I say bluntly.

I grab two slices of toast and turn back around.

I've already planned today's schedule. 1, No breakfast. 2, School. 3, Selena. That's all. I am no longer going to force myself to do something that I don't want to do. Therefore, breakfast with my parents is off the charts. I must go to school, that's how I get to see Selena. Other than the fact that school is important. . . But i'm mainly going just for Selena.

Selena has been distant as well. It feels as though everyone is becoming distant. And i'm just sitting in the same corner watching it all play out. I see her everyday, and it's only been a week. do I have the right to say I miss her?

Geez, I sound like girl.

"Justin, where are you going?" my mom asks just as I walked out of the kitchen.

"School," I reply, grabbing my binder and taking a bite of my toast.

"Without having breakfast?"

"Mhm." I say as I make my way to the front door.

"Justin? Jeremy, would you tell your son something?!"

"Let him do as he pleases while we're still here."

"Stop being so naive!"

She began to argue with him. He stood his ground. It was annoying and I wasn't going to beg them to stop. I slam the door behind me in hopes that it'd bring them back to earth. But as I walked away, I could hear their faint shouts.

Walking to school had once again become peaceful for me. But along with that came loneliest and bore. I had become accustom to having crazy and extremely loud Selena , Ryan and Demi around. Without them, things seemed so calm and boring. Everything went back to its plain old self.

"Hi, Justin." girls greet me by the front gate of school , but I pay them no attention.

They aren't Selena, therefore, they didn't catch my attention.

As I walk through the hallway, I get certain looks thrown at me. I can hear whispering all around me, about me. They act like they've never seen a sixteen year old before. It's been like this for a while now and I've learned not to let it phase me. Just as I reached my locker, Brianna ran full speed into me.

"Woah." I end up leaning back a little and stopping Her in her tracks.

"Have you seen Demi?" she asks me, Her voice frantic.

"No. Why? You're her cousin, shouldn't you know?"

"Goddammit!" she shouts before storming off.

"Okay?" I say dumbfounded.

Demi not being around much is a huge new transition from her usual stalker self. If she isn't with Selena, she's usually at home. According to Ryan, she locks herself in her bedroom and doesn't allow anyone in whom isn't Selena.

To me, this is all absurd. It isn't fair. Demi makes a couple mistakes-- well, maybe more than a couple. . . But still, her family shouldn't just ship her off to some far away school. That will do nothing but make her gain anger towards them.

As I open my locker, an annoying voice rings in my ear, "Hey, Justin."

"What do you want, Alex?" I ask, not bothering to face her.

"Did you hear what happened with Demi and Ryan?" she asks with smile upon her lips.

"Nope, but I'm sure whatever you say is a complete lie."

"I was told, he took a bat to Demi's window."

"That's a lie," I scoff. "Why would he ever do some dumb shit like that?"

"Believe what you want. I'm just letting you know for the sake of Ryan. I mean, her dad is an abusive drunk."

"No he's not. Stop making random shit up."

"Alright," she giggles and turns around. "See ya later, babe.

"Wait," I say, gripping onto her arm.

With a smirk she gazes down at my grip, then to my emotionless face. "Yes?"

"What'd you tell Ryan that has him acting so strange?"

"What's it to you?"

"What the fuck did you tell him, Alex?"

"Nothing that concerns you." She pulls her arm out of my grip and begins to walk away.

"And another thing," I say. "Don't ever call me babe again."

She simply waved her hand, as if she were shooing me away.

By the time I found Selena, two classes had passed by. During each class, the rumors got more intense. Some say, Demi's dad beat the fuck out of Ryan. Others say, Demi's dad beat the fuck out of Demi. All these unanswered questions have my mind spinning in circles.

It was passing period and I caught a glimpse of her rushing through a bunch of students in the hallway.

"Hey," I say as I grab ahold of her hand, stopping her. "Where have you been? I've been looking for you."

She doesn't hesitate to snatch Her hand back. "What for?"

I gaze at her with utter confusion. I didn't except to be asked that question. I'm not sure if I have anyway of replying. Do I need a reason to be with my girlfriend? I simply want to spend time with her. But I suppose, that's asking for too much.

"What's with you?" I whisper.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, we haven't spend any time together. . . You know, since you're being all distant."

"Oh, well, I'm sorry I have other shit to worry about other than how much time i'm spending with you," she spat.

"Woah, okay, there it is."

"Excuse me?"

"Your attitude towards me," I say. "What did I do? Why are you acting this way towards me? Please tell me. I'm so fucking confused."

"Did you have anything else important you wanted to ask me? Because I really gotta go."

"Um, okay?" I scratch the back of my head awkwardly, "I wanted to ask you if the rumors Ryan and Demi were truth or n-"

She cuts me off with a rather annoyed tone, "They're true."

"Which ones?"

"Ryan breaking Demi's window."

My eyebrows crease in the more I speak. "No. . . He-- why would he do some bullshit like that?"

"I don't know, you tell me, he's your best friend."

"Is Demi okay?"

"Do you see her here today?!" she yells, which causes everyone around us to stare and gather. She sighs, "I'm sorry, I gotta go."

As she begins to walk away she turns once again, "And if you happen to run into him, tell him he better watch his back. I'll be looking for him."

"Aye, have y'all seen Ryan?" I ask everyone whom I pass by in the hallway.

"Nah," or "No," is their responses.

"Justin!" Lucy calls out for me but I continue to walk, completely ignoring her. Too bad she bothered to run in order to catch up to me.

"What the fuck do you want?" I growl, continuing to walk.

"Wow," she gasps. "what's wrong with you today, love?"

"I ain't in the fucking mood for your bullshit today, okay?"

"Well, I heard you were looking for Ryan."

I stop dead in my tracks and turn to face Her. "You know where he's at?"

"I'll tell you once you agree to let me come over today."

"I don't have time for one of your stupid games."

"Just say yes."

"Alright fine."

"He's in the gym but d--"

Before she could even finish her sentence, I sped off in the direction of the school gym. I rushed into the gym with no clue of my exact intentions. It was as if another dark part of me took over. And the next thing I know, I'm slamming Ryan into the wall.

"What the fuck?!" Ryan shouts, confused.

I hold him up against the wall with my forearm pressed against his neck. I have no intention on kicking dirt with him. But nor have I any intention on letting him go until I've gotten my answer.

"What the fuck is your problem?!" I growl into his face.

I can feel my face full of anger and yet, confusion. I have the urge to punch him in the face but I know I won't. What am I doing? This is my best friend. . . But I can't seem to loosen my grip on him. As much as I care for him, I want answers. And I want them now.

His eyes burning with anger, glare at me. "Let go of me."

"Not until you tell me what's going on. What did Alex tell you?"

"It doesn't concern you, bro."

"Damn fucking well it doesn't concern me. But it concerns my girls best friend. And anything that concerns my girl, concerns me. Get the fucking picture?"

He laughs. "You mean the girl that's possibly your cousin?! Don't even bring up Demi."

"I advice you to keep your mouth shut about that. And Demi is a whole another topic."

He let's out a harsh chuckle, "So you gonna fuck me up, your day 1, over her?"

"Just tell me what's going on, man. Why you making this difficult? Since when did we start keeping secrets?"

"Because it's none of your fucking business, alright?!" he shouts into my face.

"So what little voice in your head told you it was okay to take a bat to Demi's window?! For what reason?!"

"That still don't concern you." he scolds.

"Bullshit. You know what her dad did to her because of you?!" I yell causing my veins to become more visible.

His eyes become darker and heavier. But yet, he doesn't reply.

I pull him forward and then slam him back onto the wall. "So you?!"

"Let go of me, man, don't make me hurt you." he scolds.

I chuckle and glare him dead in the eye, "Give me your best shot."

"Justin Bieber, let go of him!" Coach Reyes shouts from the gym entrance. "Hug it out or get out!"

I release my grip, slightly pushing him farther into the wall. "Watch your back, man."

"Nah," he snarls. "You watch yours."
