Paul was in the living room sat at the end of the sofa and feeling very apprehensive and nervous for a strange reason. he honestly could not handle anymore rejection from India.
India was pushed into the living room by John with Cynthia followed close behind
" uhm hi everyone " Paul said his eyes staring at India hoping for a reply
" hi Paul " cyn said happily
" alright macca mate" John said parking India beside Paul
" hi" was all that india said to him and that was awkward
" right this needs to stop India your father and Paul are best mates and you getting on like a spoilt brat is causing drama and tension and it needs to stop" Cyn scolded
" im not asking for them to stop being best mates and if there is trouble between them it aint my fault"
" then who's fault is it?"
" theres and yours"
"how do you figure that out?"
" because when I told you that Heather was lying and getting me in trouble no one believed me and you's still don't and now look at the state of us we don't even like each other very much now and it has been since Heather came into the picture"
" it's because you are jealous that someone else is getting some attention and you cant handle it. do you remember how you acted when Hollie was born you hated her for so long because she took the attention of you" Cyn scolded
" I still hate her not because she gets attention but because she is annoying im so glad that she is at her friends house so I don't have to see or hear her"
" that is not a nice thing to say about your sister" John added
" well im being honest and im telling you I was jealous to start with that Pauls attention was elsewhere and Heather knew that then she began to call you daddy to annoy me then she kept saying things to annoy me and I was always caught and got into trouble while she looked innocent and I tried to tell you's but you all believed her"
" That does not sound like something she would do " Paul said
" this is what I mean I try and tell you how I feel and what happened and you's still don't believe me. it is like you's don't know me at all "
" but Heather is a good girl" Paul said
" and im not huh im just a horrid little liar right? I wish you would all believe me for a change"
" stop it this is getting us no where why don't we just agree that Heather should not be around India and so on then if they are kept apart then they cannot disagree" Cyn added trying to defuse the situation and come to a solution
" no I want Linda and Heather around me all the time they are my family"
" and what now my daughter is nothing to you now that you have your own family. you seem to forget the time that you saw India as your daughter that you did everything to protect her which included taking her away from me and now what your ditching her because you don't see her as family now" john shouted feeling angry and protective of his little girl
" I never said that I have and will always see India and Hollie as my family I love those girls but I also love Linda and Heather and the fact that you all don't get on is killing me. India I miss you so much"
" that's why I never got invited to your wedding did the postman loose my invite you love me that much I did not even know about it. Paul you have been apart of my life since the second I was born the joke had always been that I have 1 mum and 4 dads you know everything about me you know when I lie or when im jealous and being a brat and you know how much I love you but still I did not get asked to go. you hardly know Heather and she was there how is that fair"
" I know you are hurt by that but it was a small and quick wedding I tried to do it without much fuss or press but it backfired and now your hurt and im so sorry about that but it was so small only me Linda and Heather was there "
"why could I not be there though I don't understand I would not have caused much attention"
" your last name is lennon which means another 40 men outside with cameras trying to get your picture and we did not want more press than we knew there would be"
" but daddy is the famous one not me" she said not really understanding
" yes but because you are his daughter people are interested in you they want to know all about you and to see pictures of you" Paul explained
" I understand and it sucks I don't want to be famous or people I don't know to have my picture its weird and i don't like it. People are starting to shout things at me when im out like whats my dad doing and asking where he is and its strange"
" im afraid it is something you will have to get used to as people love your dad and want to know all about him"
" yeah but some of the things they ask me is strange like last week a woman asked me if my dad would have sex with her and i did not know what she was talking about i don't even know what sex is. Is it some kind of an ice cream?"
Paul looked at John and they were both blushing and looking like they wanted the ground to swallow them up
John walked over and sat infront of india
" do you remember that time you were staying with you uncle George and auntie Pattie and you walked into there bedroom"
"oh yeah i was scared but they were wrestling"
" well sweetie they weren't they were having sex and it something that only adults do"
india looked shocked and she looked like she was thinking about something
" is it something i can do with Aaron?"
All color drained from Johns face and he looked like he could pass out with shock that his little girl asked such a thing
" no it is something only is old people can do and you cant do it until your over 30" John added being completely serious
" john you cant tell her that" cyn scolded
" india sex is something you can do when you are over 18 and are in love with someone and with someone you trust"
" why did you tell her that Cyn 18 is to young for her" john shouted
" im not going to have you lie to her John she will find the truth out at some stage and i would prefer she heard the truth from us"
" its ok I don't ever wanna do that with anyone it looked gross"
" im relieved to hear that princess" John said smiling
"who is Aaron" Paul asked
" he is her boyfriend " cyn said giggling
" hey what no no no this is not happening she cant have a boyfriend she is just a baby" Paul said completely shocked
" this is what I have been saying" John said glad to have someone on his side
"did you's 2 not have little girlfriends when you's were 9"
" that is different" john stated
" how is it any different it is the same"
" no its not we were boys and we were pretty awful and I know how boys think even at 9 and no way am I letting my daughter be around that"
" he is lovely daddy he is not naughty like you have told me that you were"
" sweetie I know that you think im being a mean old daddy but im not I am looking after you "
"i know that daddy but if you met aaron then you will understand that you have no need to be all protective"
" then bring him over for dinner next week and we can meet him and make up our minds about him then" Cyn said
" yeah that would be fab oh my gosh im so excited mummy"
"so we kind of strayed of topic so are you and Paul ok now"
Paul sat up straight and the nervous expression returned to his face
" uhm i think so as long as you know that i haven't been lying about Heather but you will find out in your own time but we will be ok as long as you know ill always love you more than she will"
Paul jumped off his seat and went over to india and kneeled in front of her and pulled her into a hug which India returned and Paul felt like his heart became so much lighter and he felt more complete now
" i hope you know that i will always love you more "
" i know now Paulie"
John and Cyn were smiling from ear to ear seeing them embrace for the first time in so long
" everything is getting back to normal at last" cyn laughed
im sorry this is a poor chapter but i felt i had no updated this in forever so i tried to get back into the swing of writing but it aint coming easy lmaooooo
