Katniss POV- (Middle of the night)

"Peeta?" I say.

He doesn't respond but I need an answer.

"Peeta, wake up."

He's awake in seconds, "Katniss, what's wrong?" He asks out of breath, frantically looking about the room.

"I'm fine. I just need to ask you something." I say.

"Goodness. Don't scare me like that, Katniss. What is it?" Peeta asks.

I hold my breath for a second and turn to him in the dark.

"I want you to be honest, just say 'yes' or 'no.' Do you really regret us getting pregnant?" I ask him.

He stays quiet a really long time before speaking up.

"No." Peeta says.

"Okay." I say softly.

He sighs deeply, "It's not that I don't love her already but I think we should've waited until you were ready. I regret asking so much but then again, I don't because we're having a baby and that's what I've always wanted. I think the only thing I regret isn't being there for you two when I should've." He explains.

I stare out the open window, the one that brings a chilled breeze into our bedroom.

"I think the only thing I regret about this all is how I've acted. Even though I wish it were under better circumstances, I know we wouldn't have her if she wasn't meant to be in our lives." He says.

I nod my head, not saying anything else or looking at him.

"I didn't mean for what I said earlier to come off the way it did. I don't ever want there to be a second that you think I don't want you or Willow, because that's all I've ever wanted in life." He tells me.

I break the stare and look at him.

"Can we just try to make this all better? Forget what we've done to each other in the past and just live for today and for her?" I ask him.

"Of course."

"I don't want there to be any mention of Prim or my father or your family. It just makes things more complicated." I start.

"Okay." Peeta says, nodding his sleepy, messy haired head.

I look him in the eyes, "I want a fresh start. U want to forget anything that's happened. Forget everything. I want us now, again. Just us three." I tell him.

He nods his head, "We still have friends though."

"Who knows after today." I sigh, remembering the fight Peeta, Bristol and I are currently in and wondering how that's going to turn out.

"We need to drop it and move on." Peeta mumbles softly.

I hate that he says 'we' because it's really just 'me' who made Bristol so mad.

"I don't want to lose them."

"We won't and I don't want us to lose them over something so silly either."

"Don't laugh at me but I want you to make me a deal."

"Um, okay."

"Promise me that no matter what, you're going to try to truly be happy from here on." I start.

"Katniss-"

"No, just listen." I say.

He nods and I go on, "Let everything go. Everything I've said or done that's hurt you, let it go. I'll do the same for you. There's a fresh clean start. We can only talk about good things in the past. The good things we've done and said."

"I promise." He says, looking me right in the eyes.

"You can't break it either. No more breaking promises for either of us." I add in.

Peeta nods his head.

"The only time we are allowed to grieve them is when it's been a year and so on. Only once a year." I say, knowing that's not how it'll be because we both get triggered so easily, just something as simple as that stupid cat can ruin a whole day.

"I promise."

"Can you give me a kiss?" I ask shyly.

He smiles a little bit, leaning down to my lain body and kisses me on my forehead, my nose, my lips and then my belly.

"I love you both." He says.

I smile to myself, "We love you too."

Peeta smiles sleepily at me, "Have you gotten any sleep tonight?"

I shake my head, "No. I've been thinking and I just can't get my mind to shut down." I tell him.

"Well, you need some sleep. I know you didn't get any rest today or the night before." Peeta says, laying back down next to me.

"I'll try but I have three months to rest all I want." I joke.

He smiles sadly at me, "Well, we can do it together."

I chuckle a little, almost silently, "Goodnight, Peeta."

Peeta reaches across, taking my hands and intertwining his fingers with mine, "Goodnight."

(The next morning)

"Peeta, I'm starving. Wake up." I say, poking his nose.

He opens his eyes, a smiling crossing his face as I keep poking his nose softly.

"What are you doing?" He laughs.

I chuckle, "I'm feeling your nose. I'm wondering how something can be so cute."

He chuckles, "You're so weird sometimes."

I smile at him, feeling particularly happy today.

"But you love me."

Peeta smiles, "I do love you."

"And I love you." I say, poking his nose one last time.

"You're so lucky that I can't tickle you right now." Peeta says.

"That's something I miss, even though I use to 'hate' it." I chuckle, remembering all of the fun memories we had when he would do this.

He scrunches his nose up at me, "You hated it but did so many things to provoke it."

I laugh and stick my tongue out at him.

"I think grabbing your tongue won't hurt." He jokes.

"It might." I say with a laugh.

Peeta sighs, "What do you want for breakfast?"

I shrug, "I don't care." I tell him.

"How about I make some eggs, toast, and bacon?" He suggest.

I scrunch my nose.

"No bacon?" Peeta tries.

I shake my head.

"Tired of toast?"

"No."

"No eggs."

I shake my head and make a stink face.

I hate the smell and thinking about them makes me wanna puke.

"Okay. I'm going to allow you to go downstairs but I'm carrying you everywhere you go. Even to the bathroom. I know you wouldn't be able to stand staying in our bedroom for three months straight so that's why. If Doctor Cole's asks, it was our bedroom, the bathroom, and the other three bedrooms.

I nod my head.

"Come on. Do you want to change clothes?"

"Yes. I want a t-shirt and leggings again." I tell him.

He smiles and walks to our closet, getting me one of his bigger t-shirts and some of my leggings. He gets me a new pair of socks and slips them on my feet.

"Can you get dressed?" He asks.

I nod my head, "I think so."

Peeta nods his head and goes over to dress himself.

"This isn't necessarily a bad thing but this reminds me of after I broke my foot." I say.

He chuckles, "You were pretty pissed after that. Weren't you?"

"Yeah, as much as you do for me, the little things I did do, like walking and showering and stuff like that, it frustrated me when I couldn't do them." I explain.

I know Peeta does pretty much EVERYTHING for me and I feel guilty about it but I'm working on it, after Willow is born I'm going to try my hardest to start doing more, especially so Peeta can go back to work.

Maybe even be able to start working on his bakery.

"She never mentioned showers but I would feel more comfortable if you just let me sit in there with you when you take them. I know you're not dizzy or anything but it usually just hits you." Peeta says.

"That's fine. Do whatever you want. You could join me in there again. We won't be doing anything very fun for awhile anymore anyways." I say.

He smiles, walking over to me and standing in front of me. He looks down at me and grins. I wrap my arms around his waist and he leans down and kisses my lips.

"We don't have to do anything as long as you'll still kiss me all the time." He mumbles against my lips.

I smile a little and lean forward more, "I will." I say, wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling him closer.

He laughs during the kiss.

Our lips explore one another's in a soft, passionate kiss.

We haven't kissed like this in a while.

It's not rough or forced but passionate, gentle and loving.

We pull away hesitantly and he leans forward giving me another little peck, "You're adorable." I say, our foreheads pressed together. I feel like our eyelashes will get tangled and feel his against my cheeks. Peeta laughs a little and our cheek bones touch in a smile.

"That's actually you." He says.

"Can we start planning out the new bakery soon?" I ask him.

He freezes, "Oh. Yeah, sure. I would love to."

"Are you going to start having it built soon?"

He nods his head, "Hope to. I haven't told you this but the bank called the other day."

"About what?" I ask, my heart sinking.

Money has already been an issue and I'm terrified about what he has to say.

"My parents had a ton of money in savings that the bank is giving us because there's no one else to take it. So that will help us out a lot all over."

"If you don't mind me asking, how much is it?" I ask him.

"It's $80,000 dollars."

He sits down on the bed next to me, taking my hand.

"They were saving it for retirement. It's enough to build a new building, ovens and other supplies. Plus, I'm planning on using some of it for Willow and our medical bills." Peeta says.

"Okay." I say, not really knowing what to say.

"We still need to buy her car seat, bottles, bibs, more clothes, more diapers, baby wipes, toys, bedding, I want her to have books too."

"Peeta, she won't need some of those things for awhile." I tell him truthfully.

"It's fine. We will have the money soon and I want her to have it all now." He tells me.

"Okay." I say, not wanting to argue.

"My parents at least could give her that much." Peeta says.

"Or you that much."

He shakes his head, "It's our money and our daughter. If you want to too, we will spend some of it on Willow because that's what I want to do."

"Then by all means, use it for her." I say.

"I want to."

I nod my head and squeeze his hand.

"For Christmas, I just want it to be us again. No one but us." I tell him.

"Okay, that's fine. Listen, I don't think we need to buy everyone a gift this year, with the baby coming, I just want to spend as much money as I can on and you and her." Peeta tells me.

"Not me." I rebel.

I knew I would be added in his whole gift-giving thing.

"No, I want us to have a good Christmas."

"And we will. You buy her things and I'll like them just as much as any gift you could give me."

"I'm still getting you something."

"And I'm getting you something. I'll just order everything online." I tell him.

"But we could buy Finn and Carter something."

"I don't mind that." I say, perfectly fine with the idea.

Peeta carries me down stairs and sits me at the island carefully, "Don't get up." He says.

"What all do we need to get everything ready for a new bakery?" I ask him as he cooks breakfast. He turns around and leans against the counter.

"I don't know. For starters, maybe you could help me with recipes? I'll use all of the ones I know from my dad and then maybe, we can make our own up and you can try them out for me."

I smile, "Get me paper, please."

He nods and brings me a pen and some paper.

"Cheese-buns are definitely first on my list." I say, writing it down.

He chuckles.

"Imagine a Katniss Mellark liking cheese buns."

I laugh, "I know, it's hard to believe. I'm just glad that Willow likes them too." I say.

Besides the grease from the cheese, I've been able to down them perfectly fine.

"Maybe Willow will have a taste for them just like her Momma." Peeta says.

"I bet so. She's gonna be a fat baby." I say truthfully, knowing neither of us would allow her to go without food, like my mother did.

I'm not sure if Peeta's parents ever made him go without food, but I highly doubt it and he doesn't seem to be so nit picky about food like I am.

"Oh yeah. I'm gonna give her lots of sweets."

"No." I say.

He chuckles, "We will see."

"No." I laugh.

"Sometimes."

"Maybe but not a lot." I tell him.
