(Also I hate this book now, I think it's a lil' too emotional and cringe but oh well. I still have a bit of motivation for more shit so whoever can handle my bs and enjoys it somehow, thank you.)

1. First interaction:
NEUVILLETTE:
-- Fontaine's law's are easy to break, it's no surprise a friend of yours had to stand trial.. Of course, you were there by their side, ready to face whatever nonsense evidence was used against them.
-- Neuvillette, of course, noticed and identified you. You were to stranger to the Chief Justice. No surprises.
-- Your stubbornness to keep your friend from being accused as guilty lasted until midnight. Neuvillette was rather amused by how persistent you were about your friend being innocent. Even with his interference the trial didn't end any quicker..
-- After it was over, he watched as you left and made a mental tone to himself about you. (STUBBORN. kidding!)

2. Second Interaction:
-- Once in a blue moon did he step outside the Palais Mermonia and when one of those rare days came people were astonished, whispering to one another and keeping a distance from him, the Great Chief Justice. It was natural, and he kept his distance from everyone in return.
-- He could occasionally feel someone's eyes on his back as he walked through Fontaine and when he finally looked over his shoulder he was met with your gaze.
-- It was refreshing to have someone so freely observe him without any shock, confusion or fear in their eyes. He nodded then continued his walk.

3. Becoming close friends:
-- You two didn't manage to become friends all that quickly, let alone close friends. The Iudex was always in his office and barely had time to spend outside or with you. Still, appreciated it when you dropped by.
-- Eventually even the Melusines got used to your presence in the Palais Mermonia and you got the privilege of sitting on the Iudex's chair up in the Court of Fontaine, it didn't matter whether he was there or not.

4. Realizing his feelings:
-- Neuvillette was unfamiliar with the emotions he was experiencing towards you. At first, he assumed they were parental in nature, but as his attraction grew, he was unable to categorize these feelings as familial love.
-- His heartbeat increased in speed and he felt an unfamiliar feeling in his stomach. While his body was making a mess of him on the inside, he appeared completely calm like always.
"Oh, would you mind pulling the curtains of the window to your left?"

5. Confessing: (OUT OF CHARACTER UNTIL I FIGURE OUT HOW THE FUCK TO NEUVILLETTE CORRECTLY.)
-- He wasn't even thinking of doing so, until of course the traveler and Paimon suggested it to him. With that idea in mind, his desk filled with papers of confessions written in calligraphy.
-- He was practicing. The last thing he wanted was for the time to come and for him to be humming and thinking over his confession with you in front of him, waiting.. it would be best if he knew what to say before your meeting. He learned his lesson after noticing how awkward Paimon always got when he took his time to think over his words in his head.
-- Even if you rejected him, he wouldn't get too embarrassed or disappointed since it was expected. He viewed humanity differently, a human not showing mutual interest in him was something he was obliged to accept.

-- In the cold night when you finally arrived at his office, everything he was planning to say was thrown out of the window since in the end you two didn't really exchange words. Instead, intense and emotional gazes were exchanged. Outside the Palais Mermonia, a Melusine watched what seemed to be the silhouettes of Neuvillette and you kissing from the curtains of the office's windows.

-- It confused him but he leaned in, thinking you'd like to touch his nose more. When you kept booping his nose repeatedly he closed his eyes, trying to make sense of what was going through your head to be doing this, while humming to himself.

-- It's Wriothesley...
-- Wriothesley doesn't protect you from Neuvillette... Bro stans your relationship and protects both of y'all from everyone else.

8. Training with him:
-- Training with the Iudex is an adventure. Your training always took place in an open area. Usually, in the sea. You two walk on water using your elements. (Use your imagination fatherfuckers.)
-- During training he uses a certain amount of strength that's equal to yours so that way the fight is not unfair and there's a fifty-fifty chance of you winning. Training usually ceases when you're exhausted. He praises you and gets you something to drink as you two head back to his office.

9. You faint in front of him:
-- Neuvillette noticed your body language hinting towards your weak state before you could pass out and took you to the nearest couch in his office where he had you sit down.
-- He monitored you and kept the windows open, letting you get all the fresh air you needed. He reassured you that you were alright while at the same time battling his own worries in his head.
-- Sedene, who had come to check on Neuvillette, noticed what was taking place and entered his office with a glass of water for you. She had grown to love you after noticing how much trust the Chief Justice placed in you and how much he cared about you on a personal level.
-- Commanded by Neuvillette, Sedene called Sigewinne to go and check on you. You were feeling much better afterwards.

10. You're sad:
-- Neuvillette didn't like it when you tried to deny how you felt. You two had agreed to be transparent about how you felt and to express yourselves openly in your relationship.
-- He wasn't used to all the facial expressions a human could make and couldn't always make out how they felt. It was helpful when you let him in on how you were.
-- Sometimes there wasn't much comfort that can be offered with words so the best thing Neuvillette could do was to sit down with you and listen to you without interrupting.
-- He also couldn't help but wonder if you'd feel better if he offered you a slice of cake. It always made Furina feel better. Same logic, different person.

-- He would love to spend some time with you but his work always came first. There were always some things that he would always prioritize and even with you being one of his priorities you weren't above his Nation's need for justice by any means. Taking care of the cases in Fontaine was of most importance to him. Of course, he made sure to spend any of his free time with you to make up for being so busy.

12. How often you see him:
-- You... You think you see this motherfucker often?
(NEVERMIND THAT.)
-- You couldn't always come to visit him since you had your work cut out for you. You really didn't see each other enough since he was always busy as is. When you were busy too it was worse, with you both going a month without hanging out but sending letters to each other when possible as a means of communication from far away.
-- Neuvillette did make an effort to catch up out with you. A relationship is about trying after all and if you were the only one trying to interact it would be not only one-sided but also unfair since only one party would be actually putting in effort.
-- When you weren't busy you made some sort of excuse to the Melusines to visit Neuvillette and simply sat on one of the couches at his office and told him about all sorts of stuff as he read the trillions of papers on his desk and listened to you simultaneously.
"And then she fainted. Attention-seeking stuff, huh Neuvillette?"

"Oh, don't mind me. I am listening, it's just that this report is... Astonishing."

-- When he revealed himself to be Fontaine's Sovereign Dragon to the traveler and Paimon you were nearby to overhear it. After taking in the information you fled to avoid being noticed.
-- Neuvillette had realized a third party found out the moment he heard the footsteps of someone running off and glanced at the place you originally stood from the corner of his eye.
-- After he parted ways with the traveler he walked towards the direction he heard you run, hoping to find you and convince you to keep his identify a secret.
-- You managed to avoid him albeit he was always very close to finding you. Your game of hide and seek ended when you finally let your guard down after assuming he had given up on seeking you, only to feel him place his hand on your shoulder.
"There you are."

-- Most of the time he volunteered to be the big spoon when you cuddled, though he didn't mind it happening vice versa. He was never really sleepy, he only participated in cuddling or sleeping with you since it was part of the relationship.
-- You could often tell he was thinking about something, even with his eyes closed you could tell he was alert. For no apparent reason at all, really.

-- Neuvillette never got jealous exactly, his "jealousy" was more like being upset. He decided that the only way to get rid of those negative emotions was to have a discussion with you.
-- There were times where he felt like you were more open and comfortable with your friends, especially the male ones, then you were with him. The sense that you didn't feel as comfortable around Neuvillette made him feel incomplete, like he was missing some sort of puzzle piece that your friends found long ago.
-- That inner turmoil he felt about being incapable of connecting with you as easily as they could was what made him so envious of the ability your friends had. Humans understood humans, and he? Why could he not provide you with the same joy other humans could?

-- He doesn't call you "Cherie" or anything of that sort.. Instead he prefers to simply refer to you you by your name. In the eyes of the Chief Justice the way that someone is addressed by is important. It shows their importance and how respected they are. Although you two don't have to address each other formally, he still does it since it's what he's known for years.
-- He himself wants to be referred to by his surname, Neuvillette, but he doesn't mind when you use a nickname for him.

-- You dared compare him to an... Otter? The audacity. Neuvillette, like any other doting lover, took you for a swim in Fontaine and when he dived into the waters his ears flooded with the sound of your muffled laughed. He could hear it, even underwater.
-- His head rose from the sea, his hair slicked back from the water as he raised a brow at you.
"Is your spirit animal an otter by any chance?! Otters and you are all too similar."
-- He blinked a couple of times at your question before responding.

"Excuse me.. An otter, you say? That's an unusual comparison.. I don't believe I look anything like an-"
-- His voice trailed off as his eyes landed on an otter diving and swimming around before slowly looking back at you, trying to find it in himself to deny your claims despite seeing for himself that he did in fact look similar to an otter.
-- Neuvillette opened his mouth to speak but hearing your quiet snickers only a sigh left his mouth.

-- For the rest of your swim he attempted to brush off the comparison but you simply looking at him with a smirk made it difficult for him to do so. He was so close to departing from this sheer embarrassment of it all.

20. You ignore him:
-- Being ignored was a foreign concept to the Iudex, he had never experienced it and he would have liked to keep it that way but you just had to do it.
-- Others would view it as childish or petty but Neuvillette did not pay attention to how you ignoring him came of as, but rather he focused on finding out what he did wrong to deserve such treatment.
-- Had you just decided to kick him out of your life? He needed you to tell him directly, it would be much easier to just say you never wanted to see him again. He couldn't help but wonder what led you to taking this route instead of communicating with him.
-- Eventually a Melusine sought you out and dragged you to the Chief Justice for a proper discussion in the Court of Fontaine where you weren't met by any citizens but just him and yourself. He was sitting on his chair high up, looking down at you as you sat on one of the chairs that were meant for spectators.
-- This was no case for Court but he found it fitting to talk to you as the Chief of Justice in the Court of Fontaine to understand how your mind worked. Needless to say he was speechless when the matter was solved quickly and you left so casually since it was a serious matter to him. Any person would've been relieved they weren't being ignored any longer but he, he was baffled by you... Not even relieved. Just confused and shocked.

-- The first time you did it, it felt strange and unnatural to Neuvillette but it didn't bother him. He didn't understand why you felt the need to mess with his hair but he grew to accept it over time and it felt natural when you did it after a while.
"..Is there are reason you're doing this? Is it a tradition people do or just..? Hm."
-- He would keep his hair in whatever style you made it for the rest of the day or sometimes he would keep it like that until you decided to style it differently or how it originally was.

-- Now that he was more familiar with how things were done in this relationship he decided to show you some physical affection by playing with your hair on occasion. He only ever ran his fingers through your hair to keep it untangled and not ruin it. He also tended to brush it and put it up in a bun (If you have long hair.)

-- He wasn't good at consoling people, but the way he went about comforting you was a bit more different than how he comforted others. Seeing someone special to him sobbing hurt a little more than he expected. He seemed a bit hesitant, not sure if you would like to be held or touched at all. Slowly, he took your hands into his and once you didn't resist he pulled you closer to himself.
-- He waited for a few moments again to see if you'd pull away. When you didn't he held one of your hands to his chest, his other arm wrapping around your back and holding you against his body to cry.
-- Melusines made sure nobody disturbed you two the whole time.
(If you did pull away he wouldn't be upset, he'd simply go fetch you a glass of water and stay with you until you calmed down (if you wanted him to stay).)

-- You often messed with his ears for no apparent reason, or at least he didn't think there was one... There were times where one of his eyes twitched ever so slightly when you did it in front of others.
-- While working in his office he'd often randomly stand up from his desk with his hands behind his back, walk to one of the windows of his office and look through it to see if you were around and, if you were, to see what kind of shenanigans you were up to.
He began doing that because once you slipped and fell in Fontaine's fountain... It was humiliating for both him and you.

-- It was the day a portal opened up and the All-Devouring Narwhal showed itself for the first time ever. Everybody struggled with handling it as it swam around, looking for chaos.
-- When the creature approached you, you were unable to move quickly enough to escape its attack. As you braced yourself, Neuvillette reacted instantaneously, jumping in front of you and pulling you out of harm's way. With one hand, he summoned all his strength to send the creature away, while using the other to hold you securely in place.
-- He glanced at you before averting his gaze elsewhere, not wanting to imagine the gut wrenching sight he could have witnessed if he hadn't gotten to you in time.

-- He was not a man of quality time or physical touch so acts of service were his way to go. Simple little ordinary actions like opening the door for you, paying for your meal at a restaurant, and wrapping his long jacket around you when you were cold.
-- If your love language was quality time he would try to keep his schedule less busy to spend more time with you, so you wouldn't feel like he didn't care.
-- If it was words of affirmation or receiving gifts it would be easier for Neuvillette to handle. His love language would be made for having you receive gifts, as for the words of affirmation... He'd simply learn to compliment and praise you more.

-- Of course he knew what common sense was and would always knock before entering a room so such incidents such as him walking in on you showering/bathing never occured. (But let's pretend it did happen...)
-- His breath hitching aside, he was nonchalant about it and with an apology he left the bathroom. After you were done bathing/showering he made sure to apologize to you properly before moving on. He quickly got over it, or at least attempt to for your sake. He disliked frightening you or making you feel embarrassed.
YOU WALK IN ON HIM:
-- He would always make sure to lock the door but on the extremely rare occasion he forgot and you happened to forget your manners and not knock, it was uncomfortable for him to say the least. He liked his privacy and peace when showering and having you invade like that had him look away, feeling a little uneasy.
-- He cleared his throat, a clear sign that he'd appreciate it if you left him to finish cleaning himself. Nothing against you really, but Neuvillette wasn't a clingy man and enjoyed his privacy. And, if you wanted to join him in the shower, it would be ideal if you asked beforehand.

-- The Fontainian sky got gloomy as Neuvillette noticed Sedene and a few other Melusines helping you get to Sigewinne to be treated.
-- His breath almost hitched, his saliva nearly chocking him as he took in the sight of your knackered and possibly maimed body.. From the window near the recovery bed you lied in the sky was cloudy with thunder threatening to strike.
-- Once your treatment was over and you were sleeping Neuvillette made his way to you, watching over you with his hands behind his back. His brows furrowed a hit, his irises a lightly shaking as he scanned your body, his eyes meeting the sight of stitches and bandages on your limbs and waist.
-- He closed his eyes with a quiet sigh, wondering who would do such a thing to you. Although he couldn't keep watch over you for long he made sure to check up on you every few minutes of free time he had.
(-- If you happened to be careless enough to injure yourself like that he'd be baffled by your ability to get yourself hurt to such an extent and he'd sigh in disappointment, thinking in his mind about the lecture and scolding you'd receive from him once you woke up.)
