With a heavy heart, Sam stood on Mon's doorstep, her gaze searching anxiously for any sign of her beloved. When Mon's mother appeared, her eyes filled with concern, Sam's hopes faltered.

"Is Mon okay?" Sam asked, her voice tinged with worry.

Mon's mother shook her head gently, her expression sorrowful. "She's sleeping," she replied softly. "I don't think it's a good time to talk right now."

"I understand," Sam murmured softly, her voice barely above a whisper. "Please tell Mon that I came by... that I'm sorry."

Mon's mom offered her a sympathetic smile, her eyes filled with compassion for the young woman standing before her. "I will," she promised, reaching out to give Sam's hand a reassuring squeeze. "Take care, dear."

With a heavy heart, Sam turned away from Mon's house, the weight of her actions weighing heavily on her mind. She knew that she had caused Mon pain, and she couldn't shake the feeling of guilt that gnawed at her conscience. But for now, all she could do was hope and pray that Mon would find the peace and healing she so desperately needed.

Feeling the weight of her shattered heart, Sam sought solace in the comforting embrace of her grandmother as she returned home. Tears streamed down her cheeks, unchecked and unrestrained, as she clung to the only source of love and support she had left.

Her grandmother held her close, her arms a safe haven amidst the storm of emotions raging within Sam's soul. "What happened, my dear?" she asked gently, concern etched in the lines of her weathered face.

But Sam could only continue to cry, the words caught in her throat as the pain of her actions threatened to consume her whole. In that moment, all she could do was surrender to the overwhelming grief that washed over her, seeking refuge in the unwavering love of her grandmother's embrace.

As the days dragged on, Sam found herself consumed by an overwhelming sense of despair. She moved through the motions of daily life like a ghost, her heart heavy with sorrow and regret. Food lost its taste, and sleep became a distant memory as she tossed and turned in the grip of her anguish.

Every day, she reached for her phone with trembling hands, her heart pounding in her chest as she dialed Mon's number, praying for some sign of hope. But each call ended in silence, the empty void echoing her loneliness and longing.

"Please, Mon," she whispered to the empty room, tears streaming down her cheeks as she clung to the slim hope that one day, her beloved would answer the phone and mend the shattered pieces of her broken heart.

Sam's tears flowed unchecked as she clung to the phone, her desperate pleas for Mon's response falling on deaf ears. Her grandmother's gentle voice pulled her back to the present, offering a glimmer of solace amidst the storm of her emotions.

"Sam, dear," her grandmother said softly, concern etched in her voice as she approached, "is everything alright?"

Sam tried to compose herself, wiping away her tears as she turned to face her grandmother. "I'm okay, Grandma," she whispered, forcing a weak smile. "I'll join you for dinner in a little while."

But her grandmother could see through the facade, her eyes filled with understanding as she reached out to gently brush away Sam's tears. "You don't have to pretend with me, dear," she said gently. "I'm here for you, whenever you're ready to talk."

Sam's heart ached at her grandmother's kindness, the weight of her grief pressing down on her like a heavy burden. But for now, all she could do was cling to the fragile hope that one day, her pain would ease, and she would find the strength to heal.

As Sam entered the dining room, her grandmother's eyes softened with concern, taking in the weight of her granddaughter's sorrow. She watched as Sam settled into her seat, her heart heavy with the weight of her pain.

"Sam, dear," her grandmother began gently, her voice filled with warmth and compassion, "I know you're hurting. But remember, you're not alone. I'm here for you, always."

Sam nodded silently, her eyes downcast as she fought to contain the tears threatening to spill over. She appreciated her grandmother's words of comfort, but the ache in her heart remained, a constant reminder of the love she had lost.

As Sam fidgeted with her fork, her grandmother watched her with a heavy heart, sensing the depth of her anguish. When Sam suddenly pushed her chair back and rose to her feet, her grandmother's concern deepened.

"Where are you going, dear?" her grandmother called out, her voice tinged with worry. "You haven't finished your food."

Sam hesitated for a moment, her eyes glistening with unshed tears, before mustering the strength to reply. "I'm not hungry," she murmured softly, her voice barely audible as she turned away and hurried from the dining room.

Her grandmother's heart ached as she watched Sam retreat, her footsteps echoing through the empty hallways.

Day after day, Sam's grandmother watched with a heavy heart as her granddaughter stood before the window, tears glistening in her eyes as she clutched her phone tightly in her trembling hands. Each day seemed to blur into the next, a relentless cycle of heartache and despair.

"Sam, dear," her grandmother would say gently, approaching with a comforting hand outstretched. "Please, let me be here for you. You don't have to carry this burden alone."

But Sam would only shake her head, her sobs choking off any words she might have spoken. Her grief seemed insurmountable, a dark cloud that hung heavy over her fragile spirit.

With each passing day, Sam's grandmother prayed for a glimmer of hope, for some sign that her beloved granddaughter would find solace in the midst of her pain.

With a sense of resolve and concern weighing heavily on her heart, Sam's grandmother made her way to Mon's house. As she approached the familiar gate, she took a deep breath, steeling herself for the conversation ahead..

"Good afternoon," Sam's grandmother said politely, her voice tinged with apprehension. "I'm Sam's grandmother. I was hoping to speak with Mon, if she's available."

Mon's mother nodded understandingly, her expression sympathetic. "Of course, please come in," she replied, gesturing for Sam's grandmother to follow her inside.

As they entered the house, Sam's grandmother couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness at the sight of the familiar surroundings. She had visited Mon's house many times before, but today, the air seemed heavy with an unspoken sorrow.

"Mon," her mother called out gently, her voice echoing through the silent rooms. "Sam's grandmother is here to see you."

Sam's grandmother waited anxiously, her heart pounding in her chest as she prayed for the strength to face whatever lay ahead.

As Sam's grandmother settled into the chair, her eyes softened with a mixture of sadness and gratitude as she looked at Mon. "I want you to know, Mon," she began, her voice gentle yet tinged with sorrow, "that after Sam's first heartbreak with Nita's boyfriend, this is the first time I've seen her truly happy."

Mon listened quietly, her own heart heavy with emotion as she absorbed Sam's grandmother's words.

"It's thanks to you," Sam's grandmother continued, her voice trembling with emotion. "You let Sam live. You let her body live by donating Nop's heart, and you let her soul live by giving her your genuine love."

Tears welled up in Mon's eyes as she reached out to grasp Sam's grandmother's hand, the weight of her sacrifice and love for Sam weighing heavily on her heart.

"I know this must be incredibly difficult for you," Sam's grandmother said softly, her voice filled with compassion. "But I want you to know how much your love has meant to Sam, and to me. You've given her a second chance at life, and for that, I'll always be grateful."

As the weight of the conversation settled heavily in the room, Sam's grandmother looked at Mon with a mixture of empathy and concern. "Do you no longer love Sam?" she asked gently, her voice filled with understanding.

Mon's heart ached as she met Sam's grandmother's gaze, her eyes filled with tears. "I do love Sam," she admitted softly, her voice trembling with emotion. "But I love myself more."

The admission hung heavily in the air, the weight of Mon's words echoing in the silence of the room. She continued, her voice filled with a mixture of sorrow and resignation. "I've tried so hard, Grandma," she confessed, tears streaming down her cheeks. "But I'm tired. I'm drained from constantly proving my love for Sam, from trying to reassure her and convince her of my feelings."

Sam's grandmother nodded in understanding, her own eyes glistening with tears. "I know, dear, I understand" she replied softly. "I just wanted to tell you how much Sam loves you, and how much it would mean to her if you could just answer her call."

Mon's heart ached at the thought of Sam's pain, but she knew that she needed time to heal and find her own strength again. "I know, she's hurt too" she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I need some time, Grandma. I'm just not ready to face Sam yet."

With a heavy heart, Mon rose from her seat, her eyes filled with sadness. "If there isn't anything else, Grandma," she said softly, "I think I should excuse myself."

Sam's grandmother nodded, her heart heavy with sorrow for both Mon and Sam. "Of course, dear," she replied gently. "Take all the time you need, Mon. We'll be here for you, whenever you're ready."

With a nod of gratitude, Mon turned and made her way out of the room, the weight of her decision weighing heavily on her heart.

Mon's father gently patted her shoulder as she passed by, silently conveying his support and understanding. Mon offered him a small, sad smile before continuing on her way upstairs.

Her parents exchanged worried glances as they watched Mon ascend the staircase, their hearts heavy with concern for their daughter. They knew that she was hurting, and they wished there was something they could do to ease her pain.

Meanwhile, Sam's grandmother stood in the living room, her thoughts consumed by both Mon and Sam. She knew that the road ahead would be difficult for both of them, but she remained hopeful that they would find their way back to each other in time.
