Today in the woodland realm it's was a really beautiful sunny day
And Legolas was really excited cause today in Mirkwood a big archery competition and a feast was happening to celebrate the comming of spring
Thranduil had prepared that for a long time with the help of some other elves
Legolas was one of the best Mirkwood's archer, even at his young age for a elf, he already had better skill than some adult elves
the feast will start at 12pm and the archery competion will happen during the aftertnoon, from 2pm till 4pm
When Legolas got dressed up and braid is hair, he leaved his room
It was 8am but the elves were already preparing the feast outside
So Legolas passed next to them and saluted them happily
Legolas then picked some beautiful cherry blossom flowers and came back and go to his father
When Legolas saw his father giving instructions to some elves he waited
"Ada! Look what i found!" Said Legolas showing the flowers to his father when he finished talking to the other elves
"Oh yes they're beautiful! You picked them just perfectly!" Said Thranduil kindly
"Can i put them in your wood crown right now ada?" Asked Legolas with a smile on his face
"Of course Ion-nin!" Said Thranduil giving his crown to Legolas
"Hannon-le ada! I'll make it very beautiful, trust me!" Said Legolas taking the crown and the flowers in his other hand carefully
Then Legolas sat down on the grass peacefuly and started putting the flowers in the crown little by little
Legolas was the one who always picked up the seasonal plant and flowers and put them on his father's crown at every season change
And he absolutly loved doing that
When he finished it he came back to his father and showed him his work
"Hannon-le ion-nin, this is really beautiful! You did a great work!" Said Thranduil
Then Thranduil leaned down to let Legolas place the crown on his head
"You're crown look beautiful my king!" Said one elf who pass beside Thranduil and Legolas
"Hannon-le" Replied Thranduil
Then Legolas was so excited for the archery competion who was going to happen in the afternoon that he could'nt just sit there and wait
So Legolas started to help the other elves with the installation of the tables and chairs for the feast and also helped them with the decorations
It was now 12pm and the food started to arrived on the table for the feast
When everything was ready, Legolas sat at his place next to his father
The table were beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and the sun was shinning brightly
During the feast all elves enjoyed all the foods and appriciated the musics and song of the musicians
After the feast Legolas took his bow and arrows, and went to the woods alone to practice a bit more before the archery competition
After a few more arrows shooting, Legolas heard a familiar voice calling his name
"LEGOLAS!" A young elf called him excited
"TAURIEL! I was wondering where you were, i haven't saw you at the feast, where were you?" Said Legolas running to his friend
"Oh yes i forgot to tell you, i was helping the cook for the feast so i was in the kitchen all morning" Replied Tauriel laughing
"Did you have time to eat something?" Asked Legolas, to be sure that his friend ate something
"Yes don't worry, i just ate after the feast with the other elves who cooked"
"Are you going to participate to the competition?" Asked Legolas who saw the bow in Tauriel's hand
"Of course! I'll never missed that!" Said Tauriel with excitement
When the two young elves heard a horn who signalled the soon beginning of the competition they ran together as fast as they could, so that they won't be late
"May the best win!" Said the two elves to eachother with excitement
Legolas was really confident cause he never lose a archery competition before, he always ended up with some perfect score
As expected his first shot was perfect and after a bit of time, his shot started to be a bit less good but he was still winning towards the other elves in the competition
when suddenly he shot another arrow and totally missed the target, and the arrow end up in the bush
After a deep silence, an elf announced:
"Prince Legolas, you are eliminated!"
When Legolas heard that he got extremely disapointed of himself, and didn't say a word and ran to picked up the arrow in the bush
But when he picked up his arrow he heard laughs behind him
At that moment Legolas wanted to cry beczuse he was upset but he didnt wanted anyone to see him cry for that
Then Legolas come back with the arrow on his hand and he was looking at the floor in silence
When Legolas pass beside the other elves, he could feel them staring at him and laughing
He didn't care if they were just laughing because they think that it was funny or if they were just making fun of him loosing
But for Legolas none of it was funny, he was sad, angry and disapointed of himself
Legolas just wanted go and he didn't wanted to see anyone, so he ran as fast as he could inside the kingdom
Tauriel was sad and a bit worried for her friend when she saw what happen and when she saw Legolas leaving
But she thought that leaving him alone for the moment was the better things to do
Legolas ran inside and went to the living room
he sat down in front of the fireplace and started crying out of anger
"I'm such a failure... One of the best archer, my eye..." whisper Legolas to himself
And then out of anger Legolas took the arrow on his hand and trew it aggressively into the fire
At that moment Thranduil was near the living room searching for his son, cause he saw what happen during the competition and he saw him running inside the kingdoom
When Thranduil arrived in the living room, he saw Legolas who was going to grab back the burning arrow out of the fire
When Thranduil saw what was happening he ran to Legolas and hold him back, before he could touch the burning arrow
"Do never touch fire Legolas! You could have been gravely burned!" yelled Thranduil cause he got very worried about his son at that moment
But suddenly Legolas turned around and burst into tears in his father's arms
"Legolas? What's wrong? I'm sorry for yelling at you ion-nin... Are you okay?" Said Thranduil in a worried tone
"Ada... Do you think i'm a failure?" Asked Legolas with a small voice
"Of course not Legolas, you'll never be a failure, what make you think that about yourself?" Said Thranduil wipping the tears from Legolas's cheeks
"But i missed the target... I wanted to make you proud but i failled in front of everyone... I'm sorry..." Said Legolas
"Ion-nin... I do not care about what the other elves think, and i don't worry about your archery skills either"
"I'm sure you'll grew up to become the best archer and you'll never missed again!" Said Thranduil
"Hannon-le ada!"
"Can you go training with me? I would love to train more to understand why i missed the target today, so that i won't do this mistake again" Said Legolas
"I'll be happy to help you with this Legolas!" Replied Thranduil
"Oh and ada... I'm sorry for trowing the arrow in the fire, i know it was dangerous and i shouldn't do it again" Said Legolas
"I forgive you ion-nin, thank you for admiting your mistake it's really mature, i'm proud of you! And don't worry we have enough arrow we'll just get you another one" Replied Thranduil with a smile on his face
Then they passed the rest of the afternoon training together and Legolas understood his mistake and correct them with the help of his father
