One day after lunch, Legolas was bored and didn't have anything to do
When Feren came to him and pat his shoulder to get his attention and to make him turn around
"Yes?" Replied Legolas confused by looking at Feren
"Your father call for you Legolas, he is the trone room" respond Feren
"Did he tell you anything else?" Asked Legolas confused about the reason why his father called for him
"No, he just told me to find you and to tell you to come to him"
"Alright Hannon-le Feren" said Legolas and then started walking toward the trone room
When he arrived in front of the door he knocked
"Ada? Can i come in?"
"Come in Legolas" replied Thranduil from inside the room
Legolas came in and silently closed the door behind him
Legolas approached his father slowly
Once he was just in front of Thranduil, he looked at him in the eyes waiting for his father to speak
"How's your day?" Asked Thranduil
"Humm good why?" Replied Legolas obviously confused
"Oh nothing, i was wondering if you were busy or not?" Asked Thranduil
"No i'm not busy, actually i wasn't doing anything before you called me" replied Legolas
"Did you called me just for that ada?" Asked Legolas waiting for another request or questions from his father
"Oh no, i wanted to proposed you something to do today"
"Something to do? What is it" asked Legolas curiously
"Well if you're not busy and you asked for it for long now-" said Thranduil who was suddenly cut by the young elf
"What is it?!" Asked Legolas with exictement
"I was thinking about going on a patrol today in the forest with some guards and Feren-" said Thranduil
"And i wish you to come with us, what do you think?" Proposed Thranduil
"A patrol?! Really? Can i come??" Asked Legolas who had asked for it multiples time before, but his father always refused it
"Yes Legolas, but you'll have to listen to what i told you to do okay?" Said Thranduil with a bit more serious tone to be sure Legolas understand that
"Yes Ada! I will, i promise!" Replied Legolas
Legolas could'nt help it and smiled brightly while leaving the room cause of the happiness of the news
After a hour, Legolas found Thranduil, Feren and four guards waiting for him in the entrance of the kingdom
He ran to them and bowed in salutation to the guards and Feren
"Legolas... aren't you forgeting something??" Said Thranduil looking at Legolas
"Humm....Oh my weapon!!" Said Legolas and ran inside to get his arrows and bow
"Forgive me, i forgot it" said Legolas comming back this time with his bow and some arrows
"Alright we can go now, Legolas, don't wander off, followed me okay" said Thranduil seriously
Legolas understand it and followed his father as he was asked and the guards and Feren were walking by his side
All of them then stopped once they arrived in the middle of the forest
Thranduil gived a sign to stay silent
"What's wrong my king" asked Feren whispering so low that only elves ears could hear him
"I felt someone near us..." replied Thranduil
Suddenly they hear some sound comming to them
"Climb in the trees!" Ordered Thranduil
The guards and Feren did as asked and get there weapon out in case of enemys coming out
Legolas ran to the closest tree and start climbing it, as fast as possible
Thranduil climb into a tree too but kept a eye on his son to be sure he was safe
But when Legolas was climbing the tree, he accidentally stepped on a weak branch which broke under his foot
Legolas tried to catch another branch with his hand but lost his balance
Legolas suddenly fall backwards off the tree
"LEGOLAS!!" Yelled Thranduil when he saw his son falling from the tree
Feren who was the neerest to Legolas, jumped off carefully but fastly from the tree he was, to tried to catch the young prince before he fall on the ground
When a orc appeared behind him and threw him on a tree strongly before he could do anything
Legolas fell down brutally on the ground and yelled due to the pain of the fall
The orc who heard his scream was ready to catch him
"LEGOLAS! NO!!" Yelled Thranduil who ran to the orc and killed him with his sword
Thranduil make sure the orc was really dead and that they were no other one and ran to Legolas who was on the ground in pain
Feren suddenly coughed pretty badly, due to the lack of breath when he had been threw at the tree really strongly
Thranduil looked at Feren suddenly
"Go help him" said Thranduil to two of the guards
Thranduil then looked back at Legolas
"Ion-nin?" Called, Thranduil worried
Legolas then painfully addempt to sit down, and hold his left arm who was truly hurting him much
Thranduil was even more worried when he saw the state of Legolas's arm, something was defenetly not right, it was obviously broken for sure
"Ada...help me" said Legolas in pain
"We need to go back to the kingdom now!" said Thranduil
"Legolas? Other than your arm, are you hurt somewhere else??" Asked Thranduil really worried
"No...Only my back a bit...But that okay..." Legolas replied, while having a hard time focusing, cause the pain in his arm hurt too much
Thranduil then helped Legolas stand up
Then Thranduil looked at Feren, he remember that he was hurt too
"Feren? How are you?" Asked Thranduil
"I'm okay my King, do not worry about me" replied Feren
Feren clearly was lying and was in pain but Thranduil decided to didn't said anything about it for the moment
Once they came back to the kingdom Thranduil and Legolas were going to walked to the healer
When Thranduil turn around and put his hand on Feren's shoulder who was trying to go away
"You're coming too Feren" said Thranduil
"But my King-" said Feren
"No discussion Feren you're in pain too, i can see it" said Thranduil
Feren didn't tried to fight back and just followed Thranduil and Legolas to the healer
When they arrived, a healer came to them
"Do you need anything my king?" asked the healer
"Yes, Legolas fell off a tree and i think he broke his left arm, and Feren got threw at a tree by a orc, i want you to checked him too please" said Thranduil
"Of course my king" replied the healer
After checking both Legolas and Feren and healed them
The healer came to Thranduil who was waiting outside
"So?" Asked Thranduil
"Well you were right, your son broke his left arm so we put him a cast, he will have to kept it for a couple of days"
"Alright Hannon-le, and about Feren?" Asked Thranduil
"Well, he injured his back pretty bad but he will be fine don't worry"
After that Thranduil went to see Legolas
"Ion-nin, how are you?" Asked Thranduil kindly
"I'm fine Ada" replied Legolas
"I'm glad then" replied Thranduil smilling at Legolas
"You really scared me today..., please do never do that again, be really carefull when you climb trees Legolas" said Thranduil
"I'm sorry ada, i will be more carefull next time really..."
"The most important is that you're feeling better now, i love you my little leaf" said Thranduil sweetly
"I love you too ada" replied Legolas and hugged his father with his right arm only
Thranduil gently hug him back without touching his injured arm
Thranduil smiled at the fact that this time Legolas didn't reject him, calling him "little leaf"
"I'll always be there to protect you Legolas, no matter how old you'll be"
