Mahogany POV:
I'm in my room doing some homework when I hear someone knock at the door.
I open the door and I see Romeo standing there looking at me.
"Mahogany" He says
"Boy who the fuck let you in my house" I say as I ouch him back
"Mahogany, language?!" My mom says as she comes down the hall
"Mom, why is Romeo in our house" I say confused
"Because..b-b- because Romeo's father and I have been seeing each other for a while now and his father popped the question. Now I was gonna say meet your stepbrother but it's obvious you two know each other already." And tells me with her arms crossed
"Wh-wai- what the- fu- what?!" I say
Tae POV:
Me and Melo are chilling in my living room and I get a text from Tavon.
Von🤝🏾:yo you down to go to the movies tonight?
Me: I got a better idea
Von🤝🏾: I'm listening
Me: abt we all get tg for a movie night, the whole friend group
Von🤝🏾: bet. You text the group chat and me and Aushrea will go buy the snacks
Me: Ight
I go to the group chat messages and text everyone.
Me: evb we having a movie night, meet at my place at 8:00

Melo: I'm on the couch beside you
Tre: I'm coming.
Kennedi: yeah if I can get my mom to let me out of this boring ass house
Mahogany: yes, I need to tell you guys something anyway
Aushrea: what y'all wanna watch?
Von🤝🏾: idk, I was thinking we could watch a horror movie or something.
Me: yeah let's do it, Melo loves scary movies
Melo: so what
Tavon🤝🏾: lol ok we got snacks and drinks and we will see y'all in a few
The group chat stops and we continue to watch the show we were watching.
Kennedi POV:
I walk downstairs to see my mom rocking Mj to sleep in the couch. I take a deep breath and go straight in, what's the worst that can happen.
"Ma" I say
"Kennedi" she says
"Can I go over to Tae's, we all want to have a movie night" I tell her
"Didn't I put you on punishment" she says
"Technically you took away my car privileges" I tell her as I point at the keys on the counter
She sighs and says, "Ok, I'll pick you up at 10:30, you call me if you need me to come earlier or if you're staying the night"
I smile and say "thank you"
"Mhm" She says as she walks upstairs with Mj in her arms
That's when my dad walks in.
"Kenn" He says
I just sigh and walk past him to go pick out my outfit. I'm sorry but I'm just not in a forgiving mood, and everyone I see that man it reminds me of how he left me. If he thinks a two night stay and knowing my name is going to get me to forgive him for 12 YEARS of being out of my life then his is highly mistaken. I love him and I care for him, but I can't forgive him. Not now, maybe not ever. I just don't want to deal with it. I don't want to think about it.
Tre POV:
After I get out the shower I put on a blue tshirt and some grey sweatpants. I slide on my white Nike socks and my matching shoes. I grab my phone and keys and head out. When I get to Tae's house we're all waiting outside. A few more seconds go by and Melo opens the door for everyone to come in. We all start setting up for the movie night together and then I get a feeling of nostalgia. The last movie night we all had together was on Yuna's birthday. That was the year I went all out for her to make that night as special as possible. That was a night to remember, but I know there will never be nights like that again. When people asked why did I love her so much, I tell them simply because she's her. With Yuna, it wasn't about the flowers or candy, she gave me the moon and the stars, infinity. But the nights she died it's like the sun exploded, and when the sun comes out, the stars disappear.
Melo POV:
After everyone comes in the house we all go to the living room to set up for the movie.
We all decide to watch Parasite and we sit on the couch together. Mid way through the movie I notice Tae staring at me with that sexy as smirk that he always do. Then he just burrows his face into my neck.
"Tae" I say
"Hmm" he says kissing my neck slightly
"Stop, you know what you doing" I say laughing a lil
"Mhmm" he says kissing me some more
"Get a room" Saniya laughs throwing popcorn
"Oh we got one" Tae says as he leads me off the couch and upstairs to his room
We get up in the room and I close the door behind us. Tae turns on the music and he grabs my hand pulling me close to him. We start dancing to the song playing, it sounds like a song from the 1940s. We are laughing and dancing as we sing along to the song.
Tae leans in and starts kissing me. He takes his hand and slides it under my shirt. Then he runs his hands down my back. We start making out on his bed and then I get a text from an unknown number.
Unknown: Mayne that bullet should've hit you instead
"What the fuck" I say as Tae kisses my neck some more "wait Tae stop and look"
"What's up" Tae says looking at the phone "woah, who the fuck is trolling like this"
"I don't know" I say
Unknown: don't you wanna know who those shooters were really looking for that night?
Me: who the fuck are you
Unknown: Someone hiding in plain sight.
*Next Day*
I wake up the next morning in Tae's arms and I get a text.
Kennedi: hey are you down to hang out today?
Me: I can't, I'm with Tae
Kennedi: oh ok, well whenever you're free let's do something fun, it's been a while.
Me: 👍🏾
I go back and see the messages from that unknown number, I haven't reply's after the last message they sent me. I mean they say they're hiding in plain sight, it's either someone playing a sick ass joke, or someone with a motive to torture me.
Deion POV:
I wake up next to Romeo in my arms. I can't believe this nigga and Mahogany are gonna be siblings. Well now I can js pop up on him whenever.
"Bae" I say in his ear
"Yeah" he says
"Tryna go for a round right now" I ask
"Boy if you don't go get your ass in the shower" Romeo laughs
I laugh and get up to take a shower.
I take a shower and then I head downstairs to get something to eat.
"Good morning Deion" Romeo's dad says
"Morning Mr. Riley" I say
"How many times do I have to tell you to call me Jim" He laughs as he pats me on the shoulder
"Ok, morning Jim" I say
I grab some cereal and I sit at the table with him. He sits there and looks at me with his arms crossed.
"So, you and Romeo" he says
"Yeah" I say
"And it's my understanding that you are about to be a teen father" he says sipping his coffee
"Uhh yessir, the baby is due in June" I say
"Right, well how is Romeo gonna fall into this schedule that you're gonna have" he asks me
"Excuse me?" I say
"Well you know a baby is a lot of work, and a lot of time. You won't have time to do extra stuff. You already have school and basketball, but now a baby too." He says
"Well yes but the baby also has a momma" I say
" yeah but she can't do it all herself, so what, is my son gonna be babysitting for a child that you decided to bring into the world. Is my son gonna be the one changing diapers for you?l" he asks
"Uhh, no. I would never put my responsibilities of my baby on Romeo like that" I tell him
"So you don't think he's capable of taking care of a baby" He says
"That's not what I said sir" I say "and pardon me but, you're asking me all this to say what?"
"Don't make my son become the stepfather he wasn't prepared to be just because you wanna walk around and play house with this girl." He says as he gets up and walks out
"What the fu-" I say to myself as I fix my bowl of cereal and walk upstairs
When I get in the room Romeo is scrolling on his phone.
"Hey bae" he says as I lay in the bed
"Hey" I say
"You good" he asks
"Yeah, I'm fine" I say "I'm just a lil shook I guess you could say"
"Why?" He ask turning his phone off
"You ok wit me being a teenage father right?" I ask him
He kisses me on the cheek and says "of course bae"
"And you know I'd never push the responsibility of the baby onto you right?" I say
"Bae where is this coming from?" He asks
"Your dad, he just had this weird speech downstairs and he was like he thinks I'm trying to turn you into the stepfather you never wanted to be or sum shii" I tell him eating a spoon of cereal
"What? He said that?" Romeo says
"Yeah, and then he got up and walked out" I say
Romeo looks at me and says "babe, I know you wouldn't do that."
I look at him and smile and then I lean over and kiss him.
"Good"
"Great actually" he tells me
