Elle stood in the kitchen with Alex. She looked to see Meredith and derek who were looking at blue prints for the dream house. Elle looked to her sister and smiled
She knew how happy that she was for her. Grace was also happy with mark and she was glad that her sisters were happy
" I'm thinking we put the tub here. That way you can take a bath and look out the window at the trees. But that means we have to move the sink here, because there's no way we can get two sinks on that wall." Derek said
"Okay. "
" Okay, so do you want me to move the tub or you want to share a sink? " derek asked Meredith
"have one opinion, and that is that I just want a tub deep enough that it covers my knees and boobs... " meredith said. Elle stood watching as she sipped her coffee
"Knees and boobs at the same time. Yeah, I gotta go. You're useless. Mwah. " derke said as he kisses her and leaves.
"Love you. " meredith called after him
"The dude's building you a dream house. " alex said
"I can't read these stupid things. " meredith said

"Leave her alone" Elle said
"I'm taking baby drսg to make my uterus less hostile, and I don't know, it makes my eyes dry, and I have to squint to see, and I don't really care enough about the tub/sink relationship to, you know... " Meredith said
"So your going blind for a baby you may never see" Elle said
"You should talk to that hot O.B. " Alex said
" You are always drumming up reasons to talk to that hot O.B." Meredith said
"She's right if your that lonely use your hand" Elle said

Elle,Teddy, Jackson, and Lexie walk into Ricky's room.
"Ricky... big day. " teddy said
" Bring it on. "
"Is this your sister? " teddy asked
"This is my girlfriend ... Julia. "
"You're kidding. He's been talking about you for months." Teddy said
" I figured, if there was ever a day to take off work, it's when your boyfriend's getting new lungs. "
"Smart. She waited for the real fun. " teddy said
"All right. Let's do this. "
"Well, your new lungs should leave Portland in about two hours. You haven't taken any of your cystic fibrosis meds since last night, right? " jackson said
"No food, no water, no drսg. "
"Great. So we'll just do one last workup, and then we'll get you to the O.R. Oh, and, uh, Julia, write down your number, please, and give it to Dr. Grey. " teddy said
" Why? " julia asked
"Well, so we can call you when Ricky's in surgery if have any news." Teddy said
Elle frowned to herself as she saw Lexie as she looked to see her looking at Jackson and frowned. Elle didn't like the feeling she was getting and didn't like the way Lexie was looking at her boyfriend

Grace walked over to Elle "are you okay, you look pissed" Grace asked as Elle looked to her and sighed
"I don't know. I need you to be honest with me as my twin. Am I being paranoid or is Lexie flirting with my boyfriend I feel as if there is something going on. I see the way they are and I love Jackson and I lost our baby and I feel as if we are just starting to be okay and I don't know if I am just being paranoid or not so tell me do I need to worry. You have always been the rational twin between the two of us" Elle said as grace looked to her
"You have a reason to worry. I mean I don't think Jackson will hurt you or I will hurt him but Lexie she may be our sister but I just don't trust her" Grace said as Elle nodded
She knew that she trusted graces judgement that she'd be keeping an extra eye on Lexie when it came to Jackson. Elle knew that she didn't like the feeling that she was getting at the moment

Jackson, Elle and Lexie are checking up on Ricky.
"Did they come by with the forms? " Jackson asked
"I think I signed 200 of them. "
"That sounds about right. You just ... You just gave us your firstborn. " Jackson said as Julia starts coughing.
"You need a drink of water, Julia? " Lexie asked
"Just asthma. Sorry. "
" Nothing brings people together like respiratory disorders."
" Mm. Romantic. " lexie said sd Julia starts looking through her purse for her inhaler, but she drops it. Lexie goes to pick it up and finds dornase with Julia's name on it.
"Dornase. "
" It's mine. " ricky said
"It has Julia's name on it. Rick, why is she on dornase?" Lexie asked
" I'm gonna go. "
"Wait, Julia, do you ... you have cystic fibrosis? " Elle asked.
" Go. " Ricky said
"No, wait a minute. Okay? Nobody's going anywhere. Do you know how dangerous cystic fibrosis patients are to each other? " jackson asked
"We know. " ricky said
"Your disease isn't contagious to anybody in the general population. It's not like you can't date. You just can't ... you can't date each other. You can infect each other with bacteria there's no way you can fight. " Jackson said
" We know! You know how many times we've heard the warnings? Never get closer than 3 feet from another C.F. patient. " Julia said
"It's a drag. Okay? There's no question. I get it. " lexie said
" No, you don't. Ricky gets it. Nobody else gets it. We both tried dating. People can't handle it. People cringe as soon as you start coughing, like you're gonna kill them. "
"This is dangerous. " Elle said
" Depression is dangerous. Living by yourself ... with nobody who understands you, that's dangerous. We spent eight years making small talk on opposite sides of a doctor's waiting room. And one day we decided that life with risk is better than not really living. We deserve to be together." Julia said

Elle arrives to a room full of eye equipment.
" Get in here." meredith said as Elle looked to her
" You paged me? " Elle asked
" Yeah, I need you to check my eyes."
"I'm not an eye doctor. I don't know how this crap works."
"All right, well, I already did the chart. I'm, like, 20/25, but I ... I ... I ... now I need you to look at my eyes through this thing. " Meredith died
"Maybe it's glaucoma. Hey, you could get a prescription for pot. All right. Uh, look up. Look down. Doesn't look like glaucoma. Uh, your cornea looks fine. "
"Good. "
" Yeah, but you still can't read the chart. "
"Yeah, but if I squint... "
"Normal people don't squint. All right. Read the chart, line 8. No squinting. " elle said to her sister
"D, C, P, I."
"You're blind. " Elle said
"Shut up. "
" Can you even see me? " Elle asked
"Yeah, and you look like a real bitch. I need a real eye doctor. " Meredith said
"In your little sister be nice Can you even see enough to operate? " Elle asked
"When I do the squinting thing, I see fine. Don't quit your day job. "
" Yeah, well, you keep squinting like that, and you're gonna get crow's feet, but I'm good at plastics. You want me to do something about that?" Elle asked as Meredith looked to her and rolled her eyes at her

Elle stood in Ricky's room with Teddy
"The fact that the two of you haven't swapped a live-threatening infection already is a miracle. So ... so maybe God has a soft spot for you guys. But once this transplant is done, Ricky will be on immunosuppressants ... Ten times more likely to get an infection. " Teddy shad
"Lots of things are risky. " ricky said
"This is suicide. " Elle said
"You don't know that. "
"It doesn't mean anything to you. You've been happy. We've been sick our whole lives. Don't we deserve some happiness? " Julia said
"You'll get it. " teddy said
" Don't act like it's easy, with your gorgeous eyes and your white coat. It's insulting. " ricky said
"I won't tell you it's easy. It's not, but people need these lungs. People can use these lungs for decades ... Parents with small children, teenagers who are just starting their lives. If the two of you stay together, you could destroy those lungs within months. These lungs are a gift. If you squander it... " teddy said
"What we have is a gift. Do you love someone? If you do ... you know. It's rare and it's a gift. " ricky said
"End the relationship, or you don't get the lungs." Teddy said

Teddy walked back into Ricky's room
" I need an answer. Is it over? " Teddy asked
"Yeah. It's over. " Ricky said
" Okay. Okay. You need to say good-bye. Right now. " teddy said
" This minute? "
"We need to prep you and then cut your chest open. So, yes ... this minute. " teddy said as Julia and Ricky start crying and she walks out after a kiss.
Elle stood in the doorway watching them and frowned. She knew the risks of their relationship but she knew what it felt like to loose someone you loved

Elle, Teddy, Jackson, and Lexie are in the scrub room.
"They're lying. She's just gonna lay low for a couple of weeks, and then they're gonna get back together and destroy this perfectly good pair of lungs. She's probably still in the hospital. " teddy said
"You want to stop the transplant? " jackson asked
"It's too late. Lungs are on their way. The clock's already ticking. "
"Maybe it'll be okay. You know, m ... maybe it's not a waste. They love each other. It ... it is rare. What if they are soul mates? " lexie said
"What?" Elle asked
" And you're thinking about Sloan again. You know he is with grace"Jackson said
" No." Lexie said
"Hmm" Jackson said
"He's a good man and I think that he can do better than Grace. You can" she said as she looked to Elle
"What did you say?" Elle asked
"Nothing" Lexie said as Elle glared at her

Elle stood in the operating room with Teddy and Jackson
"Dr. Avery. Ready? " Teddy asked
"Yep. Here you go. " Jackson said
"Okay. Got it. Got it? Great. Pickups and potts scissors." Teddy said as Teddy takes out Ricky's lungs. Elle brings over the new lungs.
"Dr. Grey, bring 'em over. God, they're beautiful. He wastes these, I swear to God, I'll kill him" Teddy said

Elle finds Julia on a bench outside
"I had a feeling I'd find you here. The lungs are in. So far, so good. " Elle said
"Gonna tell her I'm here? "
"Dr. Altman? No. No, I'm pretty sure you're gonna leave. Here's the thing ... you're killing him. You're taking a gun and killing him. And there is nothing romantic about a joint suicide. It's cruel ... to you, to him, to your parents, and to the family that just buried someone. Those lungs are gorgeous. You can't do this. And it always feels like ... there is just one person in this world to love. And then you find somebody else. And it just seems crazy that you were ever worried in the first place. " Elle said
"You'll tell him he has to find someone? He really has to try, 'cause ... I don't want him to be alone. " she said as She starts crying and Elle comforts her.

Elle finds Jackson outside of Ricky's room.
" She's gone ... Really. I don't know how to tell him." Elle said as Jackson smiled
"Well, if I had to hear something like that, I'd want to hear it from you." He said as Elle puts on a mask and enters Ricky's room. She delivers the news.

Lexie finds Jackson waiting for her in the parking lot.
"I just wanted to make sure you were all right. Lexie: Ricky's not, that's for sure. I told Julia that she'd find somebody else. But ... I'm not sure I believed it. " Lexie said
"She will. Jackson said
"Yeah, well, what if he's her... "
"Soul mate? You gotta be kidding me with this crap, Lexie. Nobody has just one soul mate. That'd be such a dumb system. Look, Ricky and Julia deserve better than someone who makes them sick. You deserve better, too. And there is more than one soul mate for everyone. And someone like you? There'd be a line out the door as soon as word got out."
"Oh, would you be in the line? " Lexie asked
"Yeah. I'm in the line." Jackson said knowing he shouldn't be admitting that

April rushes into the bathroom.
"Lexie! Lexie, are you in here? "
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. " Lexie said as she popped her head out
"Okay, um, Stark? Mm-Hmm. Stark just asked me out. Is that not the weirdest thing you've ever heard? "
" It's pretty weird. I'll give you that, yeah. "
" Yeah, yeah, it's weird, it's weird, it's weird. I mean, he's ... he's old and mean. He's like the Grinch. The Grinch asked me to dinner, and I said yes. "

"There is ... there is a nice man under there. "

Once April is gone, Lexie takes her hand off Jackson's mouth. He was hiding for April. He gets back up and kisses Lexie.
