As some days went, pass— daphne and Simon came to London due to the scandal that took place, and as of now— they were going to a event hosted by the queen, and they all would go to the event, as the music was being played there were chattering guests
"Oh is this not lovely? All of us together again" their mama says as hyacinth and Gregory were giving her side hugs— or something of that way, "lovely indeed. We should tempt scandal more often" colin says, making Ester look at him as she smacks his hand, making him take it back as he gives her a frown
Two ladies curtsy before daphne and Simon, "duchess, may i say how well you look?" The lady in purple says, "oh you are too kind" daphne responds, "is it not marvelous to be wed?" The lady in blue asks, "it is both a joy and a wonder indeed" simon says
"Make way!" The queen exclaims, making the people move out of her way, "must you all act like sheep flocking to the through?" The queen asks, and they all give her curtsies or bows as the queen stops infront of simon and daphne, "i have 100 guineas wagered on there being a hastings heir within the year. Are you yet with child?" The queen asks— daphne visually looks gagged
"We have certainly been devoting our energies to the endeavor your majesty. We should hope to see our queen soon satisfied" simon says as daphne looked up at him, almost like there was something up— making Ester's lips pull down at the sight, "see to it that you do" the queen says before walking away, making them curtsy or bow as she walks away
"Your duplicity comes so naturally" daphne tells simon quietly, though it catches Ester's attention nonetheless, "i seem to have learned from the best" simon responds, making Ester furrow her brows a bit in confusion at their words though she walks away anyways to go around the event as she would rather do that instead of just stay in some place or something like that.
She goes to a tray of some treats as she takes out one and she pops in a green grape just as she watched how the featherington's got kicked out— most likely because of the scandal, making her eyebrows be raised and her mouth a bit agape as she was in surprise, though she should have seen it.
As there was a, concert going on tonight— and apparently Eloise asked to go with them, which was surprising, though Ester— who decided to also go since she asked mama to go as well, was already dressed in a light blue as she was with her mama while the event was going on as daphne and Simon came into the event, "c'mon dear, let's go— the concert should start" her mama tells her as she and Ester hook arms as Ester nods her head as she had a smile with her pink lips as they head to their booth
And as they get into their booth, they look out and then the orchestra began to play as Anthony got into their booth as he sat down, and while Ester was watching the concert, her mama was watching daphne and Simon, and Anthony was watching a woman, when her mama got up and left just a bit after daphne had, making Ester look confused though she went back to looking at the orchestra
Ester was in the, drawing room as eloise and Benedict were talking about some lady as they enter the drawing room before siting at the plush seating as Ester decided to probably start getting ready for her sisters own hosted ball— that wasn't going to happen in a while, but it's better than getting ready not soon enough, and as she passes by the doors, she brushes by her mama, who grabs her real quick, "i've gotten word from aunt winnie, Francesca is arriving home tomorrow!" Her mama informs, making her brighten up, "oh how wonderful!" She says in awe as she turns and goes to go upstairs as she speeds over upstairs for her room to get ready as she had a excited smile
As it was another, day— her hair was being brushed by Aurora while she looked at herself in the mirror as peaches laid on the day bed before she got up and went downstairs, though she had peaches in her arms as she went down— yesterday was Francesca's return, and due to her being gone for so long, she decided to fill in the details of what's all happened
And as she entered the drawing room, Francesca was at the piano as she was practicing some pieces before Ester sits down at one of the plush seats next to her mama, and as Anthony was chatting with Colin about the boxing match— eventually daphne and Simon came in, making Francesca get up quickly, "sister!" Francesca gasps as Ester lifted her head from her reading of some poetry and at the sight of her sister daphne, she gains a warm smile as she slightly ignores the duke
"Francesca! Welcome home" daphne says as she and Francesca exchange a hug, "it is so wonderful to see you, and you, your grace. I thought four brothers was enough, but returning to five is quite nice" Francesca says as then hyacinth skips over to simon and daphne
"Simon! When will i be able to visit clyvedon?" Hyacinth pleas as she stops near Simon, Ester lets a small chuckle at hyacinths act, "hyacinth, allow the duke to find a seat before you trouble him" their mama tells hyacinth
"You are welcome to visit at any time" simon says, making hyacinth laugh as she pulls him over to some of the plush seats, Ester gives him a nod, "i hope you've been doing well your grace" she tells him, "thank you" he tells her with a nod, "come, show me what you've learned sister" daphne tells him as she sits next to Francesca as then Francesca began to play some of the piano she had learned
"Sister, your piano forte is quite impressive" daphne compliments, "join me sister" Francesca pleas, making Ester let a laugh out as she stands as she places peaches on the couch as she gives her a pat on the head before going over to the piano forte, "if i must" Ester laughs out as she stops near the piano.
"Now we are met let mirth abound, and let the catch and toast go around, and then the catch, and let the catch and the toast go around" Ester sung upbeat as Anthony clapped the beat, Gregory and hyacinth spinning themselves around as soon colin joined in on the fun, "Now we are met, let mirth around, and let the catch and the toast go around" Ester and Colin sang together, but when he saw Penelope featherington enter a bit quietly, Colin started to lose his voice as he was focused on Penelope while Ester led
"And then the catch, and then the catch, and let the catch and toast go round~!!" They both just kept singing as hyacinth and Gregory laughed in enjoyment while eloise pulled Penelope to some of the plush couches where she was before and Colin went back to singing normally
"And let the catch and toast go round! And let the catch, and let the catch, and let the catch and toast go round" colin and Ester finished, earning claps and cheers, "getting a bit rusty brother?" Ester teases, "i think it is you who is going rusty sister" he responds with a prideful look upon his face, making her shake her head with a laugh
"And exactly how many horses do you have? Might i have a extra one?" Hyacinth asks Simon, making the duke laugh, "your horses are the prettiest" hyacinth adds on, "hyacinth, i do believe the duke has heard enough" their mama scolds, "would a pony do?" He asks, making hyacinth laugh, "i could not fathom..." she trails off as simon reaches for a paper, "your grace!" Their mama exclaims as simon began to fold a horse from the paper, elora watches such and she had wonder in her eyes as she watched while Francesca played some notes, "now here's the tricky one... and..." simon says as he showed the paper horse, making hyacinth laugh in wonder
"You do believe it is only made of paper?" Gregory complains, "is it?" Simon asks before imitating a horse nickering, making Gregory laugh before he imitates it trotting, making hyacinth laugh as simon and daphne exchanged looks as they both had smiles, and too Elora— she looked at them as she too wanted a marriage full of smiles and love with whoever she marries
Now at the ball that, daphne and simon were hosting, was Ester as she with eloise and her mama entered the place as they walked down some of the slight staircases as there were two men there as well, "perhaps you would like to paint a picture?" Eloise snaps to one of the men, making their mama let a nervous laugh as Ester gave the man a simple smile, "dearest, you must see this as a rehearsal. Until you are officially out, you need not feel so strained tonight" their mama scolds quietly as Ester had a simple smile on as she stood on her mama's left
"As I'd i shall feel anything, if anyone should feel anything— it should be Ester" eloise snaps back quietly, making Ester look over at her twin that was different compared to her sister, "my dear..." their mama chuckles and as daphne approaches them, Ester and her mama decide to go ahead and walk away a bit as they greet a woman
"Good evening lady Bridgerton, is this your daughter?" The red haired woman asks, as elora gave the woman a warm smile after nodding her head, "oh, yes she is, this is my daughter, Ester, she's coming out next season" her mama tells the lady as ester lightly curtsied, "ah, best of luck then, i'm sure she won't need it" the lady tells her before turning and walking away as Ester and her mama went ahead and walked around the event together before Ester decided to go to a library that daphne apparently told her about as she wanted to see if she had any nice poetry books
As she entered it, she found a section of them— though small, it was still there as she pulled out one as she opens it up as she flips it with her white and silky gloves that she slid onto one of the plush seats that was there as she reads the book of it, her eyes follow the words that were written in it as she follows them before on the windows there was the sound of rain, making her switch her attention to the window as she got up to go to her mama and family members that were there, and as she slipped back with them they had went to the carriage before the rain could worsen
"Where were you this time?" Colin asks as he looked down at her, "oh, no where important" she responds as she heads into the carriage as she gets in it— colin just brushes it off, merely chuckling at her words
As the london season, was over now— it was the next day, colin would be leaving for his tour in Greece whilst lord featherington had passed away, leaving no one in charge of their household, though they weren't exactly focused on them— well maybe with exception of Eloise due to her and Penelope's friendship between the two girls, and now— since the season was over, Eloise and Ester should probably be preparing for theirs now, though Ester was more willing and wanting to be starting the lessons than her twin.
And as the months passed by— so did the news of daphne's pregnancy with Simon, and after 9 months— a boy was born
