"She smiled, and her
face was like the sun"
She walked home with her head bowed, filled with shame as she had just left the hospital. It was unfortunate that out of all the people, she had to encounter him, the person she least desired to see at this moment. It seemed fate had no mercy on her, not even allowing her a moment to catch her breath.
She wasn't even surprised when Yi-chan stood in front of her showing her the small notebook he was desperately holding in his hands.
Give me a chance to apologize
"Give me a chance to apologize" Yi-chan said hoping that she would accept, his eyes so deep and full of emotions landed on her
Don't do it
"I'm sorry I got the wrong idea" Yi-chan apologized, clutching the notebook and paper in his hands "I'm so sorry"
Stop apologizing like that
"Aren't you hungry? Should we eat together? You need to eat to take your medicine" Yi-chan began to suggest making strange movements with his hands waiting for Binna to understand what he was saying
Don't be so nice to me. You don't know that too much kindness could hurt.
Binna glanced downward, questioning why everyone expressed pity upon discovering her disability.
She attempted to move forward despite the overwhelming emotion in her throat, unaware of Yi-chan's persistence in keeping her from departing until he could earn her forgiveness.
"Can you not forgive me?" Yi-chan asked, trailing behind her, his face filled with anguish and despair "Can you not bring yourself to do it? Can't you think about it while eating? Aren't you hungry?" Yi-chan, filled with desperation, quickly jotted down his message on a notebook and showed it to her
Experiencing frustration, Binna let out a sigh and forcefully grabbed the notebook from his hands in order to start writing on it.
Im not hungry. And I can clearly read your lips, please stop making it seem like it's a big deal
She handed him the notebook, forcefully slamming it against the boy's chest, Yi-chan was taken aback when he read the girl's writing in the notebook, as he was not anticipating it. However, he burst into laughter and pointed at her when he heard Binna's hungry stomach growl unexpectedly.
"You are hungry!" Yi-chan scoffed while Binna became irritated and continued walking "No, no, no. Im sorry. It's because I'm hungry. I-it's because I'm hungry. I paid the hospital bill. So you can buy me lunch" Yi-chan suggested, with a shy smile
And apparently it was the least Binna could do in gratitude, so here she was, granting him his wish to eat together. Yi-chan appeared to be thoroughly enjoying the meal, which amused Binna, making it challenging for her to eat when the boy sitting across from her ate voraciously like a wild creature.
Binna looked down at the plate in front of her when Yi-chan's eyes met hers, surprising her as she had been caught staring at him. He barely smiled as he began to write something in the notebook, which he passed to Binna afterwards.
Did you come to see me that day? Did you need my help, by chance?
Help? Binna glanced at him with a perplexed expression, recalling his previous words, yet she never found herself in need of assistance. Consequently, she shook her head.
"Good thing if you didn't" Yi-chan responded continuing to eat, before prompting Binna to turn the page of the notebook
This is my fax number. Contact me if something happens from now on.
"If it's an emergency, send '8282' or '505' to my pager. I'll check immediately, then. Okay?" Yi-chan explained with a smile and for some reason Binna's heart inexplicably raced upon hearing this
My heart is racing again
What was the reason behind his ability to suddenly cause her heart to race like this? What was the cause of this sensation he evoked in her? For what reason did these emotions arise within her?

Binna accompanied Yi-chan as he volunteered to escort her home. Despite perceiving Yi-chan as a troublesome boy, Binna also acknowledged his kindness, gentleness, sense of humor, and above all, his adorable nature. Binna speculated that her emotions might be a sign of illness, so she disregarded them.
As they neared Binna's residence, she halted her steps. She glanced back at him, wearing a slight smile on her mouth, expressing her gratitude towards him for accompanying her to the hospital and taking care of her despite their recent acquaintance.
"Oh, you want to say goodbye here? But would you be okay? Can you go home by yourself?" Yi-chan began to inquire with peculiar hand gestures. Confused, Binna nodded in agreement "Right. She's sick, but I can't go to her place. Okay then. Eat plenty and... make sure to take the medicine... after meals, too. Recover quickly and grow super strong" At this juncture, Binna was grinning with delight "You smiled for the first time" Yi-chan exclaimed, his gaze fixed on the girl. For some reason, his heart skipped a beat, and he had to admit that he enjoyed seeing her smile "G-Goodbye, then" he waved his hand nervously, attempting to dismiss his sudden anxiety
Binna offered a slight nod before proceeding on her path, this time in solitude. The darkness enveloped her, and the crisp breeze gently brushed against her flushed cheeks. Once more, her gaze met Yi-chan's as he unexpectedly approached her.
"Do you know Ha Eun-gyeol by chance?" Yi-chan asked, leaving Binna confused. Unaware of the person he was referring to, she declined by shaking her head "I see. Oh, right. Since we had a meal together, we're friends from now on. Yoon Binna" He grinned while indicating the nametag attached to her uniform. With a smile, he then turned around and retraced his steps
Binna was left behind in a state of confusion about her own emotions. She pondered over the reason behind her accelerated heartbeat once again.
"He called my name..." After ensuring that he was sufficiently distant to hear her, she whispered quietly
She couldn't comprehend the cause, but her heart was pounding vigorously.
