I got over my writer's block! Kind of. Maybe. We'll see I guess.
On that note.
Unfortunately for me, I have to go to bed in half an hour so I'll be late for the party, but...
Good luck with your Furina pulls tomorrow and have fun with the quest!
Please don't put any spoilers in the comment section for just the next day cause I have to go to work early and I'm not sure if I can play through the quest in the morning.
If you really feel the need to, just put a very obvious spoiler warning and leave a few empty rows.
I always read the comments that pile up while I'm asleep first thing in the morning and if I find myself reading spoilers before I can even think about turning on Genshin I'll...
I am threatening you guys with a hiatus!
You hear me? Hiatus!
A single spoiler without a clear warning within the next 24 hours and I won't update for a week!
3rd person POV
"I told you, I'm completely fine."
"You're not fine. You blacked out and did god knows what."
"But I'm alright now, am I not?"
"It looks like that, but who knows."
"Is this your newest attempt at avoiding your work, my dear Duke?"
"Whatever do you mean, Chief Justice? I'm merely looking after my lovely Iudex."
"I have more than enough people to, as you say, look after me here. Do I not?"
"Well... I suppose you do, but-"
"Then, tell me, my dear Duke, if you are not avoiding your work, then why are you in my office instead of yours?"
Wriothesley stiffened at the blunt accusation, halting his attempt to lie down on the couch in...
Well...
Neuvillette's office.
A blush slowly crept up the warden's cheeks but he still insisted.
"I am not avoiding my work. I'm done with everything."
"Oh?"
"What 'oh'?"
"Did you not say that you would check the other places that I marked blue on our little map? Though, if you're here, I suppose you're already done with that, are you not, Wrio? Please, do tell, what have you discovered?"
"That..."
"Yes?"
"That..."
"Oh, please Wriothesley, don't hold back."
With how that dragon was looking at him at the moment, Wriothsley barely managed to hold eye contact.
He swore upon the archons that he would one day find the person who corrupted his innocent little dragon and taught him how to act so...
"I- I'm not done with it." He eventually admitted.
"You are not? Did you not say you were done with your-"
"I thought that you might feel better if we went together, just to be safe. I surely would."
He flashed the dragon a killer smile and held back a smirk as he watched the arm that Neuvillette had been leaning on ever so seductively, slip from under his chin.
"Oh my! Something wrong, Chief Justice? Oh, and did you not say that you would be picking me up for a discussion around this time anyway, I thought I would spare you the trip."
He smiled once more and a low growl escaped between the dragon's teeth.
"Wriothesley."
"You should not tease if you cannot bear to be teased, my lovely Iudex." The Duke smirked.
"It is not your teasing-"
"It is not?"
"Wriothesley..."
"Yes? Please, continue."
He returned Neuvillette's earlier gesture, leaning on his hand as he smiled teasingly at the dragon.
"Have you lost your words, my dear Chief Justice?"
"I advise you to cease your teasing, Wriothesley." Neuvillette eventually managed to spit out.
"Oh? Why would I?"
"You do not wish to provoke me further-"
"And what it I do?"
Not waiting for the other's answer, Wriothesley swiftly approached Neuvillette's desk, pushing the documents in front of the Iudex to the side.
"Just what are you-"
Wriothesley braced himself against the desk and swung his body over it sitting down in the space he had freed up right in front of the dragon.
"You did tell me to make myself comfortable, no?" He smirked.
As he looked down into Neuvillette's startled eyes, he saw something other than shock flash within them. Something closer to-
Bang!
"Neuvillette! We're here!"
The second the Duke heard the archon's voice he wished he could just die on the spot.
To be caught in this position... Sitting on Neuvillette's desk like this-
But, to his shock, he was on the desk no longer.
No.
By the time the god's voice reached his ears, he found himself under the desk.
"Lady Furina!" His mate's angry voice sounded from above.
"Hey! What are you shouting for? You're the one who called us in the first place!"
"Expecting you to knock!"
The warden swallowed harshly as he spotted small cracks slowly forming on the desk's surface.
"Please take our guests and move to my archives, Lady Furina. I will follow you shortly as soon as I pick up Wriothesley." Neuvillette said calmly.
"Look who managed to compose themselves. Well, whatever. Be quick."
Furina spoke of composure, but Wriothesely knew that Neuvillette was anything but that.
Even now he could see the dragon's tail swishing around in agitation, though luckily, this sight was blocked from the archon's eyes by the Iudex's desk.
On that note.
Wriothesley was currently doing everything he could not to have a nervous breakdown.
He was sitting curled up under Neuvillette's desk, for god's sake!
Put in this position by the Iudex himself!
The Duke couldn't help but think that getting caught sitting on top of Neuvillette's desk would have perhaps been a better option.
And this...
This solution the dragon had come up with...
The warden could think of at least two solutions that were much better than shoving him under the desk.
A few moments after the archon's footsteps faded away, Neuvillette pushed his chair back and stepped away, allowing Wriothesley to finally climb out from under his desk.
Before the Duke could do so, however, he heard a loud bang, and by the time he finally surfaced, there was a large hole in the wall.
"Neu-"
"Not a word."
"Neuvi-"
"Not a single sound, Wriothesley." The dragon growled.
Wriotesley watched in silence as Neuvillette buried his face in his hands, leaning against the wall.
A few rods in that same ancient language he had heard before slipped past Neuvillette's lips.
While he couldn't understand them, the Duke deduces that they were most likely curses.
His conclusion was reinforced by the dragon's next words.
"This accursed body of mine..."
He murmured a few more curses before-
Bang!
His fist hit the wall and a hole identical to the first one appeared.
Next, he snapped his fingers and instantly he was drenched in ice-cold water.
The dragon took a few deep breaths before turning to his mate.
"I do believe you know where the archives are, Wriothesley. Please go ahead without me. I will be there in a moment."
"Neuvillette-"
The warden's words were interrupted when, with another snap of the dragon's fingers, he was teleported outside the door slamming shut behind him.
