"Avery, for the millionth time I'm telling you this. You're suppose to play the 'D' chord not the 'E'." Mason said showing me the key on the piano, I could tell that he wanted to squash my head since he has pointing out the key and I just keep missing it.
Heather is as usual late so she told mason to teach me to play the beginner piece.
"Mason maybe if you stop hovering around me, I would be able to concentrate." I said. He walked closer to piano and leaned forward. His hair was ruffled and his eyes shone so brightly despite the darkness of his iris. "Better?" he asked faking a smile and I responded by a fake smile as well.
It's been almost a week since Joey came to visited me, and I still haven't gotten over the fact the Joey really wants to marry me. I mean, I never thought about marriage or spending my life with the one and only. Those things never my thing, but it's different with Joey. How can a guy just mess up my world upside down? How can someone I knew for just awhile can have such effect on me? I spent most of the week just smiling randomly while thinking about what he said, but I did get caught.
Lila seemed to notice it, "Come on, isn't a special someone?" I recalled her smiling excitedly.
"Drop it Lila" I demanded but couldn't help blushing. He was my special someone. "Say say say" she squealed like a little girl. I sighed nervously, "Fine, there is." I said it quickly.
She grinned like she just served some hot wings. "Who? Mason?" she said I immediately frowned.
Me and Mason barely got along for god's sake, I do know he went through a lot but his rude and mean not mention very annoying. For the past classes of music or session whatever it's called, he would just argue about anything I said. He's not cooperative and definitely not a team player, if heather haven't force him to help me out, he wouldn't even bother. "No" I said still frowning, she looked at me for a second.
"A boyfriend?" she asked looking at me suspiciously. I blushes and nodded and she clapped her hands with excitement.
"I knew a gorgeous girl like you wasn't single." I must say I was surprised that she called me gorgeous, I mean I'm anything other than gorgeous. "So tell everything." Lila was an open book like would say, she not ashamed of her problems and was ready to go on and on about her 'Sexy-ass' boyfriend. It's really a bad thing but I wasn't this kind of person, to talk about my private life. But with Lila, its like you have no choice.
"Umm...He's my neighbor and things kinda looked up for us." I said excluded a lot of detailes and I do mean a lot.
"Like he was the boy next door?" she smiled sheepishly. And I just nodded as a response, "Awwwh that's so cute! I guess we're lucky that our boyfriends understand the whole thing about being in mental hospital." she said. She was right about something, I was darn lucky!
"Focus! Your mind is somewhere els. When you play music, your mind should be set on the melody" he sort of yelled at me.
My blood boiled, what is this guy's problem?
"Maybe, if you shut up so I can focus!" I said irritatedly.
He gazed straight in my eyes, I ignored it and started playing for the beginning making sure I get all the chords correctly.
Once I was done, I looked up and found him staring at me.
"That was much better" he said half smiling. See? I told you this guy has issues.
"Are you like always waking up on the wrong side of the bed?" I asked and he chuckled. He actually chuckled, it made his tensed face soften almost looking so innocent and relaxed.
"My room is in the wrong side of the building" he said and I giggled.
"can't you like not be scary while teaching piano?" I told him and he chuckled again. He literally looked so peaceful and...well more attractive.
"Can't promise that" he said and then Heather came in with her usual chirpy voice complaining about the horrible traffic.

I didn't have session with Dr.Breson, after music session I told nurse Kelly that I want to walk around in the garden.
"I was actually going to suggest it" she said and I smiled. Nurse Kelly been really sweet whereas I have been nothing but a stuck up bitch.
As I stepped outside, the sunlight hit my eyes making me blink repeatedly. I felt sun radiation heats up my cold skin.
Once I opened my eyes, a beautiful scenery appeared in front of me. Bright scented flowers were in each corner, a fount which was in the center which had little lilts floating on the overflowing water. I smiled as I heard the tweeting of the birds on the branches. The smell of early winter uplifted my mood. I started walking feeling the winter's clod breeze rushing me by making me shiver, "Kelly, can you get me a coat?" I asked her and she nodded. I smiled and started walking discovering the garden, then I saw a decorative swing. I smiled and walked sat down, I pulled my body backwards and then released feeling the myself swing back and forth. I felt the wind getting tangled up in my hair and brushing my face. I closed my eyes for minute and pictured a white house wasn't big but normal, flowers surrounding the fences and two rocking chair on the front porch. A baby on Joey's chest as he's rocks it to sleep, and a baby on my chest.
And Joey looks up at me with that smile that makes my heart race. That picture was perfect, was exactly what I wanted.
A felt someone pushing me snapping me to reality, I look back and I saw Mason.
"What are you doing here?" I asked watching him as he sat down next to the swing next of me.
"I like to read here, isn't it beautiful?" he said looking a the trees.
"Yeah, it is" I replied admiring the place.
"They wanted to make the garden a place where the person feels welcomed and safe." he said as he started to swing.
"A place to clear all that's on your mind, to feel secure and isolated from everything." he said glancing at me.
"It is indeed" I replied.
"I'm not always grumpy and rude you know?" he said.
"No, just most of time." I said and he laughed. He looks so attractive when he laughs.
"I think I didn't make a good first impression." he said and I nodded.
"Nope, you need to work on that." I said and he smiled.
"Okay fine" he said and turned around stick his hand out.
"My name is mason, and I'm jaw-dropping attractive, sweet and kind and I like long walks on the beach" I laughed hysterically as he said that.
I shook his hand and said, "I'm Avery and you made a great first impression." he laughed along with me.
"you made me have and impression of a bio of a 40 year old perv on Match.com" I said and he laughed harder.
"I'll go being an ass" He said and I giggled.
"Look, just don't be scary while helping me out with piano" I said.
"How long you have been playing?" he asked.
I removed a strand of hair out of my face, "I started playing when I was six but stopped playing when I was fourteen." I answered.
"How come? You're really good! But you need a little practice." he said. I really didn't want to open up the reason why I stopped playing.
"What about you? According to heather, you are professional." I said and I saw a tiny flush on his cheek.
"Not a professional but I can play. I actually want good at first when I was Five" he said kicking back looking at me with his gleamy brown eyes.
"I remembered my sir used yell at me all time because I never understood the chords." he said smiling.
"it was hard at start but then I started to pick it up and now I play it by ear."
He said which was really impressive. "I can't judge until I hear you." I smirked.
Nurse Kelly Interrupted us by giving me the coat, I felt so warm as I slipped on the coat.
I asked nurse Kelly to go and if I needed anything I would call her, she looked hesitant at first but then she glanced at Mason and nodded.
"Come with me" I heard Mason say grabbing my hands.
I wanted to stop but something in me just followed him.
He was holding my hand...
'you have a boyfriend' my brain screamed.
We were running back inside and he was going to a siting area which had nobody there but a few patients at the end of them and a huge piano in the center.
"What are you doing?" I asked and he sat down on the small piano bench. "Making you listen to me play" he said and went near the piano and leaned on it.
"Well, go ahead then." I said and he smirked before playing.
He sighed and then laid his hands on the keys, and started playing.
It started slow but then it was magical. It was beautiful melody that I never heard it before, it was so sad yet so meaningful. The tune made a picture in my head, it wasn't Joey but Dakota.
Her face glowing and her smile radiating brighter than the sun. Her hair so silky bouncing as she moves. A smile playing on her lips and her laughter was echoing to the melody. My chest tightened and my stomach flipped. My eyes started to get watery with tears, I wanted to breakdown cry. It wasn't the accident but it was her beautiful face, her laughter, just her.
I tried to control myself form not crying in front of Mason.
He opened his eyes once he finished playing, his eyes was teary as well but he took a breath and then looked at me.
He looked at me, as we both stared at a reflecting pain in our eyes. The pain of loss, guiltiness and regret.
I sniffed holding myself from not crying and sat next to him, with my heart pounding with pain.
"That was beautiful" I managed to whisper out, I glanced up and saw him studying me. With silence, we both understood each other.
"Thank you." he whispered back.
"Now play something I know so I could play along" I said smiling trying to vanish the depressive atmosphere around us.
He gave me a half smile and laid his hands on the keys and started playing.
