I watched carefully and silently. By having zetsu active it's impossible for them to sense and detect my presence. They walked around aimlessly, clearly trying to find me but also having no motivation of doing so. "I see you're using zetsu to cover up your presence. It's nice to see that you're training is paying off." The black haired person remarks below. "But even with using that, I can still find you. I've been training you for months. I know all your tricks."
They're bluffing. They're just trying to rial me up so I can attack without thinking. I smirk, well that isn't going to work on me Alex.
"You should just give up! Once you drop your guard, I'll know exactly where you are."
One...
Two...
I clutch my knife tightly.
Three!
I jump out the tree and appear behind them as I disable zetsu. However Alex was too fast and dodged, creating a ring of fire around them. I jumped back as I felt the heat on my skin, "sh*t."
"You'll never be any match for my fire Y/N!" Alex yells as they rush towards me.
I quickly blink away and find myself behind a tree nearby as I looked at my arm that had a small burn. Yeah good job Y/N! Mom is gonna kill you now!
"Hiding are we?" I looked up to see Alex staring down at me as my eyes widen.
"Not yet!" I blink once again and activate zetsu again.
"Aw!" Alex frowns, "you've gotta stop teleporting like that, especially when the fun is just beginning!"
I blink once again with zetsu still active. I blink behind them and kick them in the knee, dead legging them as they fall forward. I then set my foot on top of their back. "One...two...three! That's a K.O! I win!"
"Good job Y/N." Alex says, slightly out of breath as I take my foot off them and help them stand.
"Thanks." I smile as I slip my knife into the holster which rests on my thigh.
"Let's get that burn fixed." Alex says as they gesture to the burn on my arm. Alex takes me over to the picnic table where our bags and medical supplies are.
"Ya know I wouldn't need to get patched up if you didn't burn me." I comment as I sit down on the picnic table as Alex opens up the medical supply box.
"Oh cry me a river honey." Alex teases as they begin to patch up my burn.
Alex is my Nen teacher, who I met about a week or so after returning to Tallulah Village. According to Alex, they were 'traveling around' and had 'stumbled across the village.' Due to their curiosity, they found Sweets & Breads, bought some stuff and was heading out. But before they did so, I asked them about the aura they were emitting.
Long story short, I'm the reason Alex gave up their travels as of right now. Alex is non binary and I adore them for it. They're so sweet and amazing, and I love them, have I mentioned how swee—?
"Ow! That hurt you b*tch!" I yelled.
"Oopsies!" Alex teases.
"You did that on purpose!"
"Who can say for sure?"
Alex is a transmuter and they can transmit fire, which is both a blessing and a curse.
"You know my mother is going to kill you right?" I hum as Alex finishes up.
"Well your mother wants to kill me for a lot of things." Alex shuts the supply box and grabs their bag, placing it over their shoulder.
"I swear ever since I've met you, she's gotten worse." I comment as I stand up, grabbing my bag and putting it over my shoulder. I then grab the medical supply box and we make our way towards my home.
"Age does that to a woman. One day they're completely sane and the next they're totally insane." Alex admits.
"What are you? A scientist?" I tease.
"A doctor actually." Alex states, "so get your facts straight."
Ever since the Hunter's Exam, I've improved a lot.
We finally arrived at my house to see the store strangely closed. "Weird." I comment as I gesture Alex to follow me to the back door.
Alex follows closely behind me, "I've never been in your actual house before."
"It's nothing too exciting." I say walking toward the back door. I reach into my bag and pull out my keys and then put them into the door knob. I twist the key as the door unlocks and we step inside.
"Woah, this is your living room? Crazy!" Alex exclaims.
"It's just a living room?" I wonder aloud as I take my key out the door and shut it behind us.
"Mom?!" I yell, "I'm back!"
I hear her faintly say that she's in the kitchen as I gesture for Alex to follow me. We enter the kitchen to see my mom putting butter on the dough for the bread. "Mom, why is the shop closed?"
"Oh it's because your sister is out babysitting and I'm busy preparing for a restock." My mom explains, "we would be open, but somebody would rather train with that...thing, rather than to help her own family."
"That's really rude to say mom." I speak up.
"And I should care why?" My mother asks.
"I—...never mind."
My mother smirks, clearly satisfied with herself. She then looks at me and notices my bandaged up arm. She quickly looks at Alex with narrow eyes, "what did you do to my daughter you thing?!"
"Mom it was my fault." I comment.
"Uh uh! I don't care. What did you do?!"
"It was just training. Your kid is fine." Alex waves it off.
"I want you out of my house!" My mother yells.
"Whatever. I'll see you when you come back from York New." Alex says to me as I nod with a smile. Alex waves goodbye and leaves my house, leaving me with my pissed off mother.
"Anyway, I'm going to—."
"You're not going anywhere." My mother speaks up. "We need to have a talk."
"Mom if this is about Alex, it doesn't matter anymore. I'm leaving for York New in the morning...it's not like Alex is following me."
My mom shakes her head, "it's not about...them...it's about that assassin."
"Killua?"
She nods and bites her lip, almost like she doesn't want to say something. She finally takes a breath and tells me, "I won't be able to protect you if he does something to you. It just...worries me."
"Mom, I'll be okay. We talk like...everyday. It'll be fine. Trust me. He won't hurt me, plus if he tries I can always teleport away." I admit, "I'll be really safe."
"But what if it's too late...?"
"Mom...I'm not some weak little girl anymore. I've gotten really strong with my nen and I know how to fight in combat. I'll be okay."
She sighs, "it's just...worries me...is all. A-Anyway, go do whatever you want. Supper will be ready in a hour or so."
"Oh...okay." I hesitantly walk off and go to my bedroom. I drop my belongings off on my bed, grab my change of clothes and headed towards the bathroom.
I take a shower, change and walk back to my room afterwards. I noticed that my phone screen was on as I curiously walked over to my phone that was on the side of my bag. I picked it up and saw that I got a text from Killua. I smiled.
