"The King commanded you to shut up, bitch!" The guard who had hit me seethed in so much hatred and disgust in his voice, but it wasn't compared to the ones I saw in King Lucas' face.
My voice, my presence, and everything about me seemed to be irking him to the core, and seeing what my fate had turned into made more tears fall from my eyes as I whimpered silently.
The pain from the bodyguard kick felt like nothing compared to what i felt seeing Lucas hateful stare. Not only had I lost everything, I might end up being killed by the same man I fell madly in love with.
"Any more sound from you, and I swear to show you what my rage can do!" He warned sternly, his finger pointed at me.
I knew he was damn serious, but the heartbreak was overwhelming, and I couldn't control myself anymore.
"Give me a second chance. I made a mistake, and I admit it. I did wrong, and I am ready to pay for it all, but just have mercy on me. I will be the best person that has ever come into your life. I will..."
He won't allow me to talk further. I had crossed the line, and he wasn't going to take it anymore. My obsession blinded my eyes and hazed my mind to the deadly consequences that come with disobeying the Lycan king.
He is a man no one dares because his anger is like a fierce and wild fire burning down everything without mercy, also like a storm that could drown a titanic ship.
He is a man in god form whose history speaks for him. Even though he had become calm these days, learning to become normal like everyone else and control his rage, we all knew that nature was still in him and hadn't dare to cross his line.
All these thoughts vanished from my mind till he attacked me savagely like a bloodthirsty monster. My legs stuck to the floor, my blood running cold, and every hair stood to its length. I felt chilled watching death hit at me.
It was like a storm as his punches struck my stomach, flinging me to the wall behind, which I slammed so hard that my bones made a loud, sickening crack as an overwhelming pain consumed me in a way I couldn't breathe.
"You made my daughter suffer terribly as a Luna, which you ended up not being a true one. You work hand in hand with the demon king and were the one who gave him the chance to return the second time. After all these, you still had the guts to talk when I ordered you to stay mute." He growled, his voice rumbling like thunder and reeking with everything defined as deadly.
I was trying to recover from the blow when he gripped me on the neck, his powerful palm clenching it so tight and firm that l I could do was shiver and expect death because all my strength had sapped out and air couldn't enter my lungs.
He was too strong and in an uncontrollable rage that spoke volumes about how much he didn't care about me dying at that moment. His eyes are lethal red, and every muscle on his body was pumped out with visible veins.
His claws formed out and pierced deep into my neck, sending heartbreaking pain coursing all over me as I struggled to breathe, but it wasn't working. My eyes bulged, my tongue poked out, and tears fell freely down my eyes as I weakly held his firm grip, feeling life leaving me.
Just then, as I was about to lose consciousness with everything fading out, I caught a blurry glimpse of someone scurrying towards King Lucas to stop him. He was already so mad and deadly now that no one dared move an inch to stop him from killing me, but this woman picked up the courage.

I recognized her clearly when she spoke to him. It was her voice. But what stunned me more was the effect she suddenly had on him.
"Please, don't kill her." She begged him with a calm voice, holding his other hand as he turned sharply at her with a growl.
At first, I really thought he would headbutt her and finish me up, but I was totally wrong. His fierce eyes became calm, and the muscles went back to normal, with his claws returning.
My eyes shut as I was very close to my death, and it was at that moment that he released me, leaving me crashing on the floor.
"Why did you ask me not to kill her? Why? After all she did to you and my daughter? She caged you for many years and tortured you. She...."
"I know. But it's in the past now. We can make her suffer for her crime all the days of her life, but since she didn't kill me, maybe we should let her live all her life regretting all she did." I heard Evelyn say to him, and my ears caught a chuckle that forced my eyes to open slightly.
I really needed to see if my ears were deceiving. There is no way Lucas laughed for Evelyn. What does it mean? And... Isn't it strange that she was able to tell him to free me, which he did without hesitation?
My vision was blurry, but I could swear I saw the smile on Lucas's face, and he even held her chin, their eyes locking.
"I felt a strange happiness when you rejected the alpha, not realizing it was because I was jealous. I tried shoving it out of my mind and pretending all through, but right now I can't do it anymore. You attracted me, and I love how close you are with my daughter. How about being closer as a mother to her?" He spoke with a low and affectionate voice, meaning every single word he said.
I couldn't deny the sincerity in his voice and the innocence of love in his smile. The pain I was feeling increased.
"Really?...I felt the same way but was scared and dared not say or show it. I didn't know what pushed me to attempt to stop you from killing her. I was shocked when it worked. So does it mean we...." Evelyn couldn't complete her words as she burst into a cry of pure, overwhelming joy.
"I can't contain this. It feels like a dream. I had been a commoner all my life, lost my chance to be the Luna only to become something greater..." She moaned as Lucas hugged her warmly, rubbing her back.
"So do you say yes to being my bride? Please say yes.." he cooed, and that was enough to crush my heart to pieces.
I was dying to be his woman while he was here, begging Evelyn to accept him. This made me start to cry as I felt my blood pressure rising and my head aching so hard that my skull would crack.
"Yes! Yes!" Evelyn shrieked, jumping in so much happiness, and there were claps and cheers as everyone celebrated her. All this excitement noise was like knives stabbing me continuously.
My eyes shut at that moment, and the aching torture in my heart made me faint, everything blacking out. I hope I am dead because there is no reason to be alive.

I don't know how long I had been unconscious, whether it was days or weeks. I woke up to find myself on a hospital bed, squinting my eyes against the bright light of the day and seeing the faces of Selene, her stupid mate, Jaden, then Joy, and her own lover, Jake, all standing beside my bed with smiling faces that turned to laughter when they saw my eyes open.
"Almighty Laura. Was it too much to bear?" Selene smirked, and others burst into another round of laughter that was like slaps in the face.
"What is happening?" I breathed, feeling a harsh headache and pain all over my neck.
"It's been a week. You have rested enough. It's time to start your house chores!" Joy lashed in a commanding tone that made my eyes widen as I sat up hurriedly.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"It means you are in the Lycan king's castle as our maid, and we can't let you keep sleeping when the rooms are dirty and our clothes aren't ironed!" Selene retorted, her words hitting me like a knock.
"You heard them right. Now leave that bed and start your work!" Jaden added, holding Selene's eyes as they shared eye contact, smiling beautifully at each other.
"What actually happened? Where is the Lycan king? What..."
"It is over, bitch! The demon king and his entire clan had been wiped out by me, Jaden, and the Lycan king. The vampires had made peace with werewolves and are living together." Selene cut me off.
"And what is that crown on your head?" I gasped, my breath becoming heavy.
"She is our queen, and Jaden is the king. They rule the vampire and werewolf kingdoms. Any other question?" Jake, Joy's mate, spilled, his statement, throwing me off guard.
"What!!" I exclaimed, covering my mouth as the nightmare dawned on me.
"So I am now a maid? But I still feel pain and...."
"Remember when I was feeling pain after the wolfsbane and silver torture you brought on me? You still forced me to work. It's your turn now, Mrs. Bald Head." Selene snorted and snapped her finger. Four hefty bodyguards who were Lycans stepped in with mean faces.
"Will you get up now, there, or receive beatings first?" She huffed, and I jumped up in fear, my head banging like it was being battered with a hammer, but I knew better than to sit there.
"I will do as you say, Sele..."
A hot slap from Selene landed on my cheek immediately.
"Who are you calling by her name?" She rasped, and I held my cheek in pain and anger, but I knew I would be sorry for myself if I touched her.
"I'm sorry..." I murmured, fighting back the tears forming in my eyes. I can't believe this is my life.
"Try it next time, and I will cut out your lower lips!" She warned me, and I nodded continuously in anxiety. They all laughed at me again, harder.
"This is your room. Get to work quickly." Joy scorned and spat on me, and Selene did the same before they all walked out.
Oh God, I never saw this coming... This place that stinks like a drug smell was my room. I looked around and saw the clothes hanging on the racks. They were like rags, just like the one I'm currently wearing.
So this is how it feels when I do the same to Selene?
Tears prickled my eyes as shame and regret ate me deep, adding to the pain all over my body, but the bodyguards warning stare forced me up my feet as I stepped out to start work.
