By Ms_WhisperAngel

Hey guys, thank you for your votes and comments.

Continuing from the last part,

He is trying to show me his life.”

Karan was standing under the light.  Tall body, highly handsome face, superior intellect… he always managed to stand out in the crowd.

What Karan said was like a laser beam that cuts through the darkness.  Suddenly there’s a place to start.  Everyone looked at the white board again. The words seemed to become more meaningful now.  They tried to link the thoughts together.

But Karan couldn't wait for them to catch up.  He puts the white board marker in the table, then he started to speak:

Whipping, anger or hatred convey karne ka most direct aur powerful way hain.. yeh flesh cutting or slow torture wale methods like draining the blood... unn sab se jyada intense hain. Therefore, usse auraton se nafrat hai.

And usually, women ko hate karne ka cause lack of maternity love se stem hota hain. Men who grow up in a healthy and normal childhood usually remained psychologically stable even though they are treated badly in their teenage years or adulthood by other woman. Therefore, it’s most likely ki uski maa  she either abandoned or left him when he was young.

Skinning ek complicated aur tedious process hain. But woh yeh task complete kar paya woh bhi.. almost to perfection. Yeh first time nahi ho sakta jab usne aisa kiya ho. You should investigate all the skinning cases in the US in the past ten years. Wahan shayad kuch clues mil jae.

Skinning plunder and pillage ko suggest karti hain. Even though koi sex ka involvement nahi tha isme..par   it’s a type of punishment. Perhaps iska link bachpan k waqt ka lack of maternity love hain. But ek aur possibility hain ki.. he was sexually abused by an older woman in his teenage years.”

The room was quiet after Karan stopped. Monami thought about what he said. Most psychopaths in the US had a rough childhood. No.1 might come from a rich family, but psychological damage can happen regardless of background.

Karan continued: “He dismembered the man’s body, and he removed his heart. This is also a sign of depredation. Woh uska self-worth aur pride chinna chahta hain. Woh aadmi jab Zinda tha tb.. he suffered a lot of injuries.

Almost sabhi psychopaths ki fantasies ka form hona.. unke teenage years me hota hain.. woh aadmi probably uske father ko represent karta hain. Uska uske father ke sath jyada close relationship nahi hoga. I think uske father ne kabhi usse abuse kiya hua ho sakta hain.... either physically or mentally when he was growing up, but over a long period of time. Usse apne father ke character or values ke liye koi respect nahi hain. Emotionally, jo usne uss aadmi ke sath kiya uske liye jyada patience chahiye than what he did to the woman. Bilkul Just like the hatred he has for his father is accumulated over a long period of time. ”

Monami started to understand the difference between the methods he used for torture. They were all cruel.  But one method required more patience than the other, and it’s closely tied with his emotions and how he wished to express his angers.

This was the most reasonably explanation of why he used so many different ways to kill. He carried different types of angers from his life experiences. So, this was how he was ‘showing his life’ to Karan.

The old man signified death. Usne koi physical abuse nahi suffer kiya. This was out of character for him.  Perhaps, the fact ki koi maut se chhup nahi sakta hain.., it is a natural fear that he has to live with. But usne old man ka gala kata to signify ku uske pass power h life aur death ko control karne ka.. atleast  doosre logon ki hi...

Aur woh bachha aur dog.. woh dono signify karte h uske perilous childhood ko.. jo pura suffering aur pain se bharu hua tha. Bachhe ko poison se maara gya.. It is a peaceful way of killing his victim. aur bachhe ke Marne ke baad usne uske dono hands chop kar diye. The symbolism of this is that he is taking away hope.”

Karan started to summarise and profile:
Based on these findings, we have a picture of him:

Woh 25 se 35 ki age ka hain. American Indian hain. US me bahut lambe samay Tak raha hua hain. 180 to 185 cm tall hain. Na hi mota hain na patla hain. Also, English aur Hindi inn dono languages me toh uska achha command hain.

Wealthy hain. And He puts in a large amount of time, effort and money towards his crime. Usse work karne ki jarurat nahi hain.. His money is inherited.

His mother abandoned him when he was young, and that scarred his life.  He was also abused by his father and other older female member(s) in the family.

Strong anti-society sentiments. He is also very temperamental.

Extremely intelligent, and very egotistic.  He might be paranoid and have delusions about things. But currently, yeh bahut serious nahi hain. Abhi tak illness me evolve nahi hua hain.. He is still sober and fully conscious of everything he is doing.  Based on his family background and his abilities, usne US ki one of the top universities me study kiya hua hoga. However, uske koi friends nahi hain aur woh community me integrate nahi kr pata hain. Ek strong possibility hain ki degree completion se phle hi usne college se drop out kra ho. Criminal psychology aur mind control me uska knowledge most amateurs se jyada hain. I believe ki yeh subject usne University me padha hain.

He has accumulated a lot of crime experience. Uska first crime usne commit kiya tha jab woh ek young adult tha. I will contact the US Police for information on skinning cases in the past decade.

It’s late at night. But there was still much work to be done.

After Karan’s briefing, all of the officers looked impressed. Bala walked up to him. He adjusted his glasses and said: “That’s incredible.  Well done.”  Then he walked out of the conference room. He needed to get some rest too.

Everyone was gone. There were only two people left in the conference room.

Monami was busy typing what he just shared with everyone onto the computer. When she was done, she turned the screen to Karan: “Do you want to double check that I didn't miss out anything?”

Monami was so proud of her man.  The Flower Cannibal No.1 tried to mislead the team, but in front of Karan, it’s like child play.

Karan stood in front of the white board. He frowned . Monami glanced at him.

There’s hesitation in him. Why is that?

He turned to Monami, and gave a faint laugh: “Nahi. Bs agar hum iss profile ko follow krenge toh hum kabhi usse dhund nahi paayenge.”

Monami: “…kyon?”

Karan leaned back on his chair. His fingers tapping on the table.

Hum…. it’s too easy.”  He smiled mockingly. “Yeh woh profile hain jo woh mujhe believe karwana chahta hain..”

Monami’s heart missed a beat: “Yeh profile incorrect hain? It’s a ploy to distract us?”

Nahi.” Karan clarified: “Profile real hain. Jaise ki Maine kaha, woh temperamental pervert hain. Agar usne mujhe apne baare me kuch nahi btaya hota toh, there’s no fun for him. But woh confident Hain ki hum sirf inhi informations se usse dhoond nahi paayege..”

Monami looked at the white board.  Karan pointed to a few of the points: “There are a lot of people that fit these basic points. Humne uski computer systems me hack karne ki ability dekhi hui hain.. What if he changed his education records, for example, we would spend a lot of time and effort without finding him. And ussi beech me woh uske second crimewave ke liye ready ho.”

Agar main sirf ek arrogant professor hota aur sirf uski di hui profile per reply karu toh then I am going to lose this game.” Karan continued. “But main usse kahi jyada intelligent hoon. He underestimated me.”

Monami smiled at his confidence.

So..” she asked: “Phir hume aage kya karna chahiye?”

But then she didn't expect Karan’s response.

He wiped everything off the white board. Then he took one white board marker and gave another one to Monami: “Itni bhi jaldi kya hain. If it’s not the right path, let’s start again.”

—————

A lot of people were destined to have a sleepless night in Bhutan. A mad man was on a killing spree, it’s enough to make the whole city’s police force jittery. But hundreds of miles away, Avni’s mood and fate was also governed by development of this case.

She was wearing her nightgown, sitting in the study. She was reading the news on Narain’s case. Ever since his disappearance, she has not smiled. They have been together for many years. Besides, he has a direct impact on her life, and the future of her company. After all, it’s also an arranged marriage based on commercial reasons.

However, there’s not much news on the case. Police force from both Bhutan and India are very careful not to leak any information to the media.  There’s no indication as to the whereabouts of her fiancé, and whether he was alive, or dead.

Her mobile phone rang. She checked the caller display. It’s Narain’s mother, the wife of the chairman of Banerjee Corporation.

She hesitated, then decided to answer the call: “Hello, Auntie.”

Mrs. Banerjee sounded anxious: “Avni, kya tumhari side me tumhe koi news mili?”

Sorry, abhi Tak toh kuch news bahi hain.”

Mrs. Banerjee paused for a while, then she said with a low and slightly coarse voice: “I have news.”

Banerjee Corporations is bigger than Goenka Corporations.  They have more connections and influence.

Mrs. Banerjee spoke with a low voice: “Yeh bahut confidential hain. Police ne btaya hain ki Narain ko Bhutan leke aaya gya hain. Woh abhi Zinda hain. But unhe yeh nahi pta ki woh hain kahan..”

Avni was relieved to hear that he is alive: “Thank God he is alive.  But…”

Avni. Narain k papa ko dil ka daura pada tha.. mujhe pta hain ki tumhara Bhai iss investigation ko lead kar raha hain.. kya tum plss Bhutan jaa sakti ho.. and do everything you can to save him. Jab Narain k papa ki tabiyat theek ho jayegi tab we will come and join you.”

Sure. I will be there tomorrow.” Avni replied.  “Aunty.. tension Mt lijiye... Narain ko kuch bhi nahi hoga.”

After she hung up, Mrs. Banerjee gave a sigh. She was sitting on a luxurious and expensive sofa, her eyes were filled with tears.

Suddenly, her phone rang. She picked it up. She said with a trembling voice: “Narain!  Narain!”

On the other end, came the familiar of voice of his son: “Mom, Kya Avni aa rahi hain?”

haan, woh kl Bhutan me hogi..” Mrs. Banerjee asked anxiously: “Yeh sab kya ho raha hain? Main janti hoon tumhara unn sab cases se koi lena dena nahi hain.. Par tum police ko contact kyon nahi kar rahe ho? Kya usse rupees chahiye? How much does he want?”

Mom…. Bs police ko call mat kariyega.. plss..  goodbye.”

—————-

Dawn.

When Monami woke up, Karan waa not in bed anymore.

She looked around. Karan was nowhere to be seen. His briefcase and trench coat were still on the sofa.  Where can he be?

Suddenly, she was scared. She quickly gave him a call on his mobile phone.

A familiar voice answered after just one ring: “What is it?”

Monami relaxed: “Kahan ho tum?"

———————-
Early morning. The roof top of the hotel. The wind was quite strong today, and Monami felt a little shaky while walking on the concrete floor.  She wrapped her hands around her shoulders to walk towards Karan. She smiled when she saw him.

There was a helicopter pad on the roof top. A large yellow circle was drawn on the ground. A man with a white shirt has his back to her. That’s her Karan.

Hey.” She called him softly.

Yeah.” He replied without even looking up.

The roof looked out the stunning views of the mountains in Bhutan. But he was not there for the scenery. He has a piece of chalk on his hand. On the floor, it’s filled with numbers, words, symbols…. and a few cartoon drawings of Darling.

That’s so cute. But if the hotel staff saw this, they might not be so amused.

Monami sat down next to him.  She asked: “Why did you come up here?”

Yahan bahut Shanti hain.” He answered “It helps me to concentrate and think.”

Kya tum puri raat jaag kar yahan soch rahe the?”

He gave her a disapproving glance: “Do you think ki mujhe puri raat lagi hogi yeh sab work out karne ke liye?”

Monami laughed.

He seemed a little more relaxed than when he said they have to start from scratch last night.

You made progress?”  she asked.

Of course.” He smiled.

Monami smiled too. Of course. She said to herself.

The wind was strong. Monami was starting to shiver slightly. Karan pulled her into his arms. They sar down together to watch the sunrise over the mountains.

Kuch contradiction s hain uske behaviour me. Of course, usko khud ko iss baat ka pta nahi hain. What a pathetic lunatic.  He is within our reach now.”
