Read on if you dare.
Ahsoka thought her heart would beat straight out of her, ripping a hole in her chest. Either that her lungs would give up on her and her airways would break. She squeezed her eyes shut, breathing shallowly through her teeth as she tightened her grip around Anakin's hand.
She could feel every little movement Kix made as he stabbed and stretched at the wound a jagged piece of shrapnel left her.
Ahsoka had never before wanted to pass out so badly. She liked to play tough, but she didn't care anymore. She just wanted some painkillers.
And yet for some reason, she was still trying to keep it all in, hold back the tears, swallow the screams...
"How much longer?" Ahsoka gritted out, her voice and breath strangled in her throat.
"Almost there," Kix said, a hint of apology in his voice. "We'll scrounge up some sort of painkillers for you." He glanced back pointedly at the mystery woman who Ahsoka had yet to meet but who was also pulling a look of pity that made Ahsoka think they might not get along.
The woman pivoted and started fumbling around in boxes scattered about the room. Ahsoka tried to focus on the sound, but fresh, sharp pain jarred her attention back on Kix.
Finally, the jostling stopped and Kix sat back for a moment to observe his work. Ahsoka chanced opening her watery eyes and sucked in a shuddering breath. Anakin squezed her hand, giving her a comforting smile. She didn't try to smile back because she knew it'd simply come out as a pained grimace.
"I could only find these," said the mystery woman in a thick accent. She reached out and dumped a few pills into Kix's hands that looked ancient and a little gross.
Kix brought them close to his face and stared at them for a long moment. "Not the greatest, but they'll alleviate the pain a little and it doesn't look like they're expired. Want some water?"
Ahsoka shook her head, taking the pills and gulping them down dry. Kix shook his head and grumbled something about not liking it when she did that before turning around and gathering up all the old medical supplies.
Ahsoka closed her eyes and let herself relax against the old, raggedy couch for a second. Tolerating the pain had sucked the energy out of her and she felt the same way she did after one of those long, fast runs. Just without the adrenaline.
"What's next?" she asked after a moment when she heard Kix dumping all the equipment into a box.
"Next, we just located the rest of our people, being held captive some klicks away," Echo said.
"Obi-Wan's on his way, so we're gathering up to get everyone out and get off this rock," Anakin finished, his voice dripping with bitterness as he checked his lightsaber.
"Okay, where do you want me?" Ahsoka asked, blinking her eyes open and shoving herself upward.
"Right here." Anakin took her by the shoulders and eased her gently back to the couch. "You can't just spring back from an injury like that, especially with the limited medical supplies on hand."
"I've done it before," Ahsoka protested.
"Not with those dirty old pills. You're staying here, Ahsoka. You lost a lot of blood," Anakin said.
"But–"
"No." Anakin's voice turned stern. "How about this? You rest up while we get everything ready, and then we see how you're doing?"
Ahsoka gave him a nasty look. She could handle herself. "Fine."
"And speaking of blood loss..." Anakin reached out and pressed his finger into the fabric close to her wound. It squished wetly and when he brought it back, Ahsoka's scarlet blood dripped down onto his hand. He stood up to ask the woman if she had any sort of clothes for Ahsoka.
Ahsoka lay on the couch, stubbornly refusing to admit even to herself that her fatigue was yanking at her. But the realization of how wet her clothes were made her shudder, and every time she moved she could feel the sticky fabric clinging to her skin, and where the blood had dried, the crust scratching against her.
She rolled over and tried to ignore it.
A second later, a hand brushed up against her and she startled, shooting up from the couch a little too quickly. With swimming vision, she came face-to-face with the mystery woman. The woman grabbed Ahsoka's good arm before she could flop back.
"Hello, sorry to scare you," the woman said in her thick accent that Ahsoka's muddled mind couldn't quite place.
"I wasn't scared," Ahsoka gruffed, indignant.
"Right, sorry, they told me you were stubborn."
Ahsoka scowled.
"Anyway, I found you something clean to wear and that big Jedi with lots of muscles and blonde hair asked me to help you change, make sure nothing bad happened," the woman said.
Ahsoka snorted. She really didn't like this woman.
The woman handed Ahsoka an old, gray uniform that looked twice her age and meant for a huge man to wear... two things Ahsoka was not. But she unfolded it anyway, an old scent puffing out to greet her, and allowed the woman to help her pull off her sticky dress.
She kept her leggings and wrestled herself into the shirt. The sleeves fell well past her hands so she rolled up one and let the woman roll up the other.
"You're Ahsoka, yes?" the woman said. "I heard the muscly Jedi call you that."
Ahsoka resisted rolling her eyes. "If you heard him call me Ahsoka, wouldn't you have heard the clones call him General Skywalker?"
"Yes, sorry. My name is Patil."
Ahsoka nodded. Patil finished rolling up the sleeve and sat back.
"Alright, did they say anything as to where I should go now?" Ahsoka said.
"Uhm, yes," Patil murmured, looking everywhere except at Ahsoka.
"Where?"
"They said they were going to leave you here," Patil's voice came out hardly above a whisper.
"Like a bantha's butt they are!" Ahsoka made a brake for the door, bursting through it and instantly regretting the choice, pain shuddering through her like so many little electric shocks. She stumbled against a wall and bit back a scream, slowly sinking to the floor with the unholy urge to vomit out all her origins and pain receptors.
"Ahsoka!" Anakin fell to his knees in front of her.
"You can't leave me here," Ahsoka gritted out, gaining strength and pulling herself upward. "I'm coming."
"It's a suicide mission for you, Ahsoka," said Anakin all too gently. "I'm not going to let you get killed just becuase you're too stubborn to admit that you were hurt by a life-threatening injury."
It was silly, honestly, how stubborn she could be, but she could never shake her persistent ways.
She tried to protest as Anakin gathered her up gently but more pain sent her groaning through her teeth. Anakin laid her down on the couch and knelt next to her.
"I'm fine now, I'm ready to fight," Ahsoka tried weakly.
Anakin pressed his palm to her forehead and she realized what he was doing a moment too late.
"Sleep," he murmured, and she instantly fell into a peaceful dream.
She woke up who-knows-how-long later in the med-bay, properly stitched up and surrounded by her favorite people in the galaxy.

I just saw a double rainbow, and one of them was a full arc!! It was sooo pretty.
Also I finished The Rookie and is anyone else seriously pissed about the ending?? Like, tell me if the one guy dies or not already!! And I'm not sure if I should be excited for season 6 or extremely angry because I have to wait until summer is over to get it.
Requests are open, feel free to message me or make a comment if you have any ideas.
Bye, peoples!
