you watched Jake's back from afar, in the darkness of the night as you watched how his hair flew due to the rough wind hitting him.
As you approached him, you struggled in your walk on one of the rocks you're, making Jake turn his way to you. you cursed under your breath, eying down your maybe injured feet.
"Heyy," Jake said when you made your way in front of him while you responded with the same.
Silence followed the introduction.
you just stood in front of each, looking at each other while the wind made the silence speaks and the waves did the same.
you could stand in this place the whole day, it was peaceful. The kind of piece that you'd want for your heart.
"I wanted to apologize" This time it wasn't the wind who spoke, not even you, it was Jake.
"Stop, I should be the one apologizing to you," you said interrupting.
Truth be told, you wanted to apologize, but you didn't accept that Jake was the one who would do it. He didn't do anything to feel sorry for.
One week passed after his confession to you. You didn't take it well, your reaction wasn't on his mind. You left him standing there with a broken heart, after confessing his love for you. You acted like a coward.
"Then it will be the two of us," Jake concluded, "I'm sorry for not telling you anytime sooner, I'm sorry but I love you. And you know that I can't change that, I'm sorry for that too."
"I love you too," you whispered, every word you said was harder to get it out than the last one.
What you didn't expect, is that a chuckle will be leaving his mouth as a response.
"Can I kiss you?" Jake voiced when he was the panicked expression on your face. It was amusing.
While he was the one who was dying.
"Wha-?" Before you could utter another word, he stepped towards you.
Looking into his eyes you saw deep pools of black that displayed his soul. His lips touched your cheek.
Time stopped. your heart came to a halt. your breath caught in your throat.
you didn't know how your fingers locked together similar to puzzle pieces. As the soft skin of his mouth left the side of your face, the exact spot where you had come into contact burned and tingled.
A hot blazing fire pulsed through you. your cheeks painted themselves rose red.
As Jake drew closer you felt your heart beat so hard you feared he'll hear it.
A small lock of hair tumbled in front of your face, resting just in front of your cheek, but with one swift slide of his thumb, it was bruised out of the way.
Your perfume is intoxicating.
your insides craved his touch. you craved his touch. As soon as his moist, plump lips imprinted on your neck, you lost all rational thought, you were just consumed by the thought of him.
He kissed you and the world fell away. It was slow and soft, comforting in ways that words would never be.
His hand rested below your ear, his thumb caressing your cheek as your breaths mingled.
you ran your fingers down his spine, pulling him closer until there was no space left between them and you could feel the beating of his heart against your chest. "W-when you started to love me?" You asked, feeling awkward after the heated kiss.
"It was the moment I started to notice the little things in you."
"How?"
He didn't want to answer that, he knew if he started he would never get to finish, and he would never get to stop. But either way, he started to voice his heart out. His love is out for you.
He loved the way you hide your blush whenever you watch a kiss scene in a movie.
The way you squeal whenever you visit museums together and then the deep conversation you loved to have about every painting and every piece of art. He loved how you memorize every portrait of every artist.
He loved how you hide in the bathroom sometimes so you can read your books alone with no distractions.
He loved how you stop yourself from crying and being an emotional wreck so people don't judge you and call you a crybaby.
But you didn't realize that you were crying until you tasted the tears on your lips, as much as you tried to hold it, you couldn't anymore. His words were beautiful. He noticed all of those things about you.
"Why are you Crying?" Jake breathed out after pulling away from you. "I don't know" was your response.
The truth was you didn't know why you were crying but he knew. you live him, you truly love him.
"You love me," assuring himself.
Jake said, smiling down at you, while he pulled away a bunch of hair from his face that was stuck with your tears. you looked like you would break if someone touched you. "I do,"
He kissed you again under the watch of the waves. his lips meeting yours once more. This time the kiss was more passionate, more urgent as if you were trying to hold onto the moment and make it last forever.
