[Y/N POV]
I woke up with an unbearable pain all over my body.
It took a lot of strength for me to at least sit up.
My phone kept buzzing from beside my bedside.
Using even more energy, I picked up my phone to check who was messaging me.
'14 messages from Rui....'
'...12 MISSED CALLS FROM RUI?!'
What in the world must Rui want to call AND text me so much?!
'Not even my own mother calls me that many times!'
Sighing, I looked at the time on my clock.
It's 9:34...NINE?! School stared an hour and a half ago!
Yet I still didn't have the energy to get up...
I feel hot...burning even...
'Was I sick?'
Hopefully not....but most likely I am....
My parents must've left for work already....I'm alone....and in pain...
I felt my phone ring from beside me again.
Picking it up, I answered the call.

[Rui POV]
2 hours....I've been standing outside (Y/N's) house for 2 hours.
I refrained myself from entering her house uninvitedly, but I was really starting to worry.
I've been messaging her and calling her to no avail. 'She must've overslept again' I sighed.
'I also don't want to break and enter her house...'
'Oh well, I'll just keep calling her. Thirteenth time is the charm.' I picked up my phone and dialed her number.
After a while, (Y/N) answered. "Hello?"
"(Y/N)-Chan! You're finally awake! Did you oversleep again?" I'm glad she answered, this just removes one worry off my chest.
"Yeah..." Her voice was more groggy than usual. 'Was she getting sick?'
'This might be a chance to get closer to (Y/N)...here it goes...'
Taking a deep breath, I asked, "(Y/N), are you alright? You don't sound too well."
After a moment of silence, I could hear (Y/N) let out a long sigh.
"I think I've come down with a fever..."
'Is she embarrassed about being sick?'
Whatever the case may be, I have to help her. After all, It would be inhumane of me to leave my love alone in a time like this.

[Y/N POV]
What a terrible time to get a fever...
What's worse is that my whole body aches...
'How the heck am I going to let Rui into my house if I can't even stand up?!'
"(Y/N)? You still there? You're oddly quiet" I could hear Rui's tone become more worried and soft.
'Do I tell him to break in? No, that'd be weird to explain...Oh! Maybe I left one of the doors open?!'
I sat up and looked outside the window next to my bed.
'The back door...I'm sure my parents still have that spare key near the potted plant...'
"Hello (Y/N)-Chan~"
I felt a hand on my shoulder...'WHY DO I FEEL A HAND ON MY SHOULDER?!'
I quickly turned around to face Rui...'wait...RUI?!'
"WHATTHEACTUALFU-RUI?! HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE?!" I could've sworn he said that he was in front of my house. HOW THE HELL DID HE END UP IN MY ROOM?!

[Rui POV]
I patted (Y/N's) head in order to calm her down. I grew worried so I let my intrusive thoughts win and entered her house.
(Y/N) still had a panicked look on her face. I guess she hadn't expected me to enter uninvitedly.
"Rui?! How did you get in here?!"
Helping (Y/N) calm down by hugging her, I explained how I entered through the 'open' front door.
I wasn't actually going to tell her how I pretty much surveyed her house for any potential openings. And how I pretty much sneaked in through the kitchen window that was unlocked. She doesn't need to know the details as long as I'm here to help her.
After I told her my partially true story on how I got in, (Y/N) promptly calmed down but was still on edge.
Helping her lie back down on her bed, I noticed how flushed her face was.
'Was she blushing because of me? Or perhaps it's the sickness doing?'
I placed my hand on (Y/N) forehead. She was burning hot.
'That's a fever alright'
"(Y/N) where do you keep most of your medical supplies?" It was worth a shot to ask (Y/N) directly, but she can only do so much in this state.
"Main bathroom...third drawer..."
I immediately rushed downstairs and into the bathroom. It was clean and quite spacious. Opening the third drawer of the sink cabinet, I found a first aid kit, as well as a bucket with a towel.
I filled up the plastic bucket with water and made my way back into (Y/N's) room.
By the time I entered her room again, (Y/N) was fast asleep.
I placed the wet towel on her forehead to cool her down.
'I should also mention this situation to her mother...' I sent a quick message to Mrs. (L/N) before drawing my attention back to (Y/N).
She looked so peaceful while she slept, but I have something equally important to do right now.
Placing a soft kiss on (Y/N's) cheek, I looked around her room.
(Y/N's) room wasn't small but not quite big enough either. She had a small walk-in closet, a door that led to her own bathroom, shelves decorated with mangas and figures of her favorite vocaloid, as well as a deck with a (F/C) desktop.
I slowly made my way towards her walk in closet when I felt my phone vibrate from my pocket.
A hologram of Kaito appeared as I held my phone in my hand.
"Hello again Rui, how are you doing?"
I smiled as I recalled our chat last night.
"I'm doing fine, what bring you here?" Kaito appeared at quite unexpected time, but that won't bother my mission.
Len, Rin, and Meiko then appeared before Kaito.
"Wow! Is that (Y/-)" Len's excitement was cut off when Rin nudged him. Len began to frantically bow in apology before disappearing.
'What was that all about?' It's strange how Len new about (Y/N) even though I've never mentioned her to any of the vocaloid, Kaito included.
I noticed how Kaito sweat dropped a bit. "Well, is this the lucky lady who you mentioned you had romantic feelings for, Rui?"
To be honest, I did not expect Kaito to word it that way. A bit of heat grew on my cheeks. "Uh, yes." I felt the heat on my cheeks intensify.
Rin gleamed in joy at my announcement. "Yay! I'm happy you found someone who's very special to you Rui!" Meiko nodded in agreement.
"Alright Rin, try to be more quiet. Rui's lover seems to be sleeping." Kaito gave a worried smile.
After that, Rin disappeared along with Meiko, leaving me and Kaito alone.
'I side tracked, time to continue with me real motive for being here other than helping (Y/N). There's nothing wrong with starting my mission rather early.'
With my phone still in my hand, I made my way inside (Y/N's) small walking in closet.
"What exactly are we looking for Rui?" Kaito asked whilst looking around (Y/N) closet.
"I'm looking for one of (Y/N's) dresses, for research purposes, of course." I chuckled.

After a while of searching, Kaito pointed at a dress on top of a shelf in the closet.
Grabbing said dress, I quickly placed it into my bag.
'Mission success!'
"Rui, look at that, there's a small yellow box underneath that pile of clothes." From a stool where my phone was placed, Kaito's finger pointed at a corner of the small closet.
Picking the box up, I brought it closer to the face.
They yellow box was decorated with drawn smiling faces. It read "Happy Pills".
'Happy Pills, make your life a little brighter? Has (Y/N) been taking these?!'
Inside the yellow box was a nearly empty pill bottle.
"That's not a good sign....seems your lover was going through some tough times..." Kaito sighed as I placed the bottle into my bag.
'I can't tell (Y/N) about this since she'll know I was snooping around...same thing would happen if I asked her parents, I'm already not in good terms with Mr. (L/N)...'
My ears perked up at the sound of keys.
'That must be Mrs. (Y/N)! She's rather quick.'
Kaito hid in an instant while I picked up my phone and left (Y/N's) closet. Quickly pulling out a chair, I sat down and awaited for Mrs. (L/N) to enter.
The bedroom door busted open with Mrs. (L/N) visibly shaking. "Where.Is.She?!"
I pointed at (Y/N), who was somehow still asleep even though her mother just busted in here.
At the sight of her daughter, Mrs. (L/N) switched moods. "Ah, she's asleep!"
Shaking my hand, she smiles, "Thank you so much Kamishiro for looking after my dear (Y/N)~! You can head on home, I'll take things from here!"
I decided to stay for a little while longer, I can't leave (Y/N) just yet.

[3rd POV]
A few hour later, Rui had gone home with a bowl of Mrs. (L/N's) delicious vegetable soup.
Mrs. (Y/N) spent the whole day by (Y/N's) side, never once leaving.
As (Y/N's) eyes began to flutter after a 4 hour nap, she was greeted by a tight hug from her mother.
"(Y/N)! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT YOU WEREN'T FEELING WELL?!" (Y/N's) mother continued to hug her daughter as she shed a few tears. "I was so worried about you!"
Letting out a sheepish laugh, the (H/C) girl replied, "I'm fine mom, don't worry about me."
Hearing those words caused her mother's mood to suddenly change. She now had a smile and was wiping away any tears she had left. "I'm glad! Anyways, I made you some food to help with your fever!" She held a tray in her hands.
(Y/N's) still tired (E/C) eyes began to observe her room. "Mom, what happened to Rui?"
Mrs. (L/N) chuckled a bit before speaking, "He went home not too long ago! He was just as worried as I was. To thank him, I gave him a bowl of my veggie soup!"
'Can't help Rui this time. I wonder what he'll do with the soup?' The (Y/N) thought for a moment.
The sun soon began to set. Mrs. (L/N) insisted that she'd spoon feed her soup to her daughter.
Yet, for some odd reason, (Y/N) couldn't get one thought out of her mind. How will she do tomorrow?
