Hello all! At long last I'm finally back with the next major story arc of this book. What's noteworthy about this arc is it's the penultimate arc of Galar! That's right, Galar is nearing its end! But it's not done yet. Based on what I've got planned for this arc, it'll actually be a little different than how The Darkest Day played out in the games. So with that in mind, enjoy the first chapter of The Darkest Day Arc! (Song ain't mine but fits well here doesn't it)
The whole crowd murmured in confusion. They had no idea what was going on. In Alola, Lusamine and Wicke were shocked to see Faba alive. Kukui and Burnet were equally as shocked.
"Why are you bringing about The Darkest Day Chairman Rose? What calamity is supposed to happen?" Leon asked.
"Faba has told me that a time distortion is beginning to grow stronger, and in order to prevent it, we must use the power of Dynamax to contain it, thus The Darkest Day event must be repeated" Rose explained.
"Time is being distorted?" Ash said.
"How can that be?" Serena said.
"Pokemon from the past have been showing up in our time through flashes of light. We've been able to contain most of them, but it's only a matter of time before Pokemon from the future make their way here as well" Rose explained.
Everyone was shocked by this. Faba looked at Ash and Serena.
"As for you two, I hope you've been enjoying your time here in Galar, not caring that you're responsible for what you did to me" he said with a scowl.
"What we did to you?" Ash said.
"Isn't it obvious?! You made me lose my entire arm!" He yelled as he pointed to his missing arm.
Everyone else gasped at this claim.
"As some of you are aware, Alola was recently attacked by a dangerous group, and I tried my best to stop them as an innocent citizen. But your so called 'Heroes' stopped me and destroyed my arm in the process" Faba explained.
Everyone gasped again at this new claim. Gloria and Leon looked at Serena and Ash respectively. The two didn't look at them.
"Serena? Is that true?" Gloria asked.
"Ash?" Leon said.
Ash and Serena were silent at first, as were their Pokemon.
"So you don't deny it do you? After all you have no evidence that you're innocent" Faba said with a grin.
"So where's yours?" Ash suddenly said.
Faba's grin immediately faded. "What?"
"You say we did that to you. You say you tried to stop Team Rainbow Rocket but we stopped you. Do YOU have any proof that that's true?" Ash said.
Faba was now the one who didn't say anything.
"In case YOU'RE unaware, Team Rainbow Rocket tried to decimate all of Alola with energy beams" Serena said.
"Of course I knew that" Faba countered.
"How did you?" Serena said with a smirk.
"Because I—" Faba's eyes suddenly widened.
"The specifics of what the attacks were was mostly kept from the public, so how could you possibly know the specifics if you were just an ordinary citizen?" Ash asked.
Faba tried to think of something to say.
"And we do have proof that we were the ones who stopped them!" Serena said.
Ash and Serena wiped their right and left arms respectively, a special cream coming off it. Their large burn scars were soon revealed. Everyone gasped in horror.
A flash from Serena's bag appeared. A second later Ninetails appeared. She was in disbelief at seeing Faba once again.
"It...can't be...n-not again...!" She said with a mix of anger and fear. She started breathing faster and faster.
Serena quickly buried her daughter's head into her chest, not letting her look. More flashes appeared, another from Serena's bag and one from Ash's belt. Decidueye and Primarina appeared.
"You've gotta be kidding me...!" Decidueye said.
"How is he even alive?! We saw him get thrown far away" Primarina said.
Faba noticed the new additions. He suddenly grew angrier.
"You three! You bastard Pokemon did this to me!"
Everyone turned to the three Pokemon in question, even Ash and Serena. Faba suddenly smirked.
"You said you wanted proof? Well there's your proof" he sneered.
"Decidueye..." Ash said.
"P-Primarina..." Serena said.
Decidueye turned to them.
"We were transported to Ula Ula Island with Faba, where we all fought. In the end, Ninetails shot an Ice Beam that shattered his arm" he admitted.
Ash, Serena and their Pokemon gasped in shock.
"Guess it's good that no one else understood that" Pikachu said.
"You sure bout dat?" A new voice said.
Everyone turned to see Meowth on another screen, grinning at them. They were shocked to hear a Meowth talking.
"What the?! How are you—" Pikachu said in shock.
"How's life been Pikachu? You been havin' fun dis whole time?" Meowth asked.
"Well we were until you showed up" Sylveon sneered before Pikachu could respond.
"Guess you haven't changed either" Meowth said as he looked at Sylveon.
"Well I am prepared to rip that charm off your head if you go after my darling again" Sylveon growled.
"Did we miss something here? What's going on?" Hop said as he came up to Gloria.
"Your guess is as good as mine" Gloria said.
"Why are you even here? You should be in prison right now!" Sylveon said.
A new voice suddenly laughed. She entered the frame with Meowth.
"Oh you're kidding me..." Pikachu said.
"Jessie!" Ash said with anger.
"Hello Twerp, fancy seeing you here. And it looks like the ugly Twerpette is here as well" Jessie said with a shit eating grin.
"What did you say?! Why don't you come down here and say that to my face!" Serena said with anger.
"You're as feisty as ever twerpette" Jessie sneered.
"You can't do that Jessie, only I'm allowed too" another voice said.
"That voice...!" Ash said.
Another tv screen glowed, showing none other than Misty. She looked different though. Her eyes no longer had any sense of good in them. They looked empty yet made her look insane.
"I'm the only one who gets to hurt that bitch! Then Ash will be mine forever!" She said with a wicked grin.
"In your dreams you crazy bitch! Ash is mine!" Serena shouted.
"Misty...what the hell happened to you...?" Ash said. This was no longer the Misty Ash knew.
"My time in prison has opened my eyes to the truth that I've been missing. And that truth is...you and I are truly destined to be together forever! And now that I'm free again, I'll make you mine for sure this time!" She said with that same wicked smile.
"This girl is insane...!" Greninja said.
Sensing the escalating threat, all the Pokemon appeared now.
"Woah! It's a yandere!" Dracovish said.
"How do you even know what that is?" Cinderace said as she looked at him.
Faba cleared his throat. "Moving on from this, it's time you two pay for what you've done! If you really want to stop me again, come and get me" he said with a wicked grin as the tv screen cut out.
"See you later twerp" Jessie mocked as her and Meowth's tv screen cut out.
"Bye Ashy~" Misty said as her tv screen cut out.
At this point Goh and Chloe had made their way down to the battlefield. Ash and Leon also joined them.
"Can someone explain what just happened?" Goh asked.
"Who were those people?" Chloe asked.
Ash and Serena explained everything, and with their permission, they explained what Decidueye admitted to them.
"I see now..." Leon said.
"Are...are you gonna condemn us?" Ash asked.
This surprised everyone.
"Why would we do that?" Gloria said.
"Those people are insane and need to be brought down" Goh said.
"Besides, based on what you said, that Faba guy deserved it" Chloe said.
Leon stepped forward. "Putting all of that aside for now, we have to find a way to put a stop to their plan."
"What do you suggest we do Lee?" Hop asked.
Leon thought for a moment. He scratched his chin before speaking again.
"Rose's laboratory is in Hammerlocke inside the gym, which requires a lot of power to maintain functionality. There are generators stationed in Rose Tower in Wyndon that power everything in the area. If we take out the generators we can stop them from getting any power to achieve whatever they're doing" he explained.
"So that means we need to split up and divide and conquer" Gloria said.
Leon nodded. "One team can head to Rose Tower to destroy the generators. Another team can head to Rose's laboratory in Hammerlocke to destroy any threat it may house. Another team can head to the top of Hammerlocke Tower, as that's where Rose and Faba will most likely be."
Goh and Chloe stepped forward.
"And we'll go back to Wedgehurst to help Professor Magnolia monitor any anomalies" Chloe said.
"Good idea" Leon said.
"Take Rotom with you, he'll be great help" Ash said.
"I'll be happy to assist in any way I can-roto" he said.
Everyone began to form teams and decide who goes where. After a few minutes, it was decided.
"Alright, Team A will be Latias, Dragapult, Zoroark, Dracovish, Lilligant, Kartana and Pancham who will go to Rose Tower to destroy the generators" Ash said.
The members of Team A nodded.
"Team B will be Lucario, Gardevoir, Decidueye, Primarina, Cinderace and Inteleon, who will go to Rose's laboratory to destroy it" Serena said.
The members of Team B nodded.
"And Team C will be Ash, Serena, Pikachu, Sylveon, Greninja, Delphox, Ninetails, myself, Gloria and Hop, who will head up to Hammerlocke Tower to face Rose and Faba" Leon said.
The members of Team C nodded.
"Then let's move!" Gloria said.
Everyone nodded. Ash and Serena recalled the Pokemon coming with them, minus Pikachu, and set out with Leon on his Charizard, Gloria riding on her Corviknight and Hop riding on his Braviary. Goh, Chloe and Rotom rode to Wedgehurst on Goh's Golurk. The Pokemon staying in Wyndon headed towards Rose Tower.
As they flew, Ash was lost in thought. Serena sensed this and held him tighter.
"I know what you're thinking Ash, and we'll stop him again" she said.
"I just hope it doesn't end the same way as last time. I can't afford to lose anyone else..." he said, not even looking at her.
Serena didn't say anything as she continued to hold onto him.
Eventually Team A made it to Rose Tower. They were met by a couple Macro Cosmos employees.
"Stop right there! No one is allowed to enter, not even Pokemon!" One of them said.
They released a few Pokemon, all taking battle stances.
"Alright here's the plan. Me, Dragapult and Kartana will fly in to make an opening, then Lilligant and Pancham will push them back and then Zoroark will deliver the final blow" Latias said.
Everyone nodded.
"Hey, where's Dracovish?" Dragapult said.
Dracovish suddenly ran past them and charged straight towards the Pokemon.
"Dracovish no!" Latias called out in concern.
"The vish shall rise again!!" He yelled.
His body started to become enveloped in a blue light.
"That's Dragon Rush!" Latias said.
Dracovish slammed into the Pokemon, causing an explosion. After it settled, it showed the Pokemon defeated.
"Fear my love of pancakes!!" He yelled.
The others grunted and had white eyes.
"Maybe we should lead with that next time" Lilligant said.
"Noted and burned into my brain" Pancham said.
The Macro Cosmos employees were just as shocked. They recalled their Pokemon and ran away. Dracovish returned back to them.
"They suck at tag" he said.
Kartana was about to say something but Lilligant covered his mouth.
"Anyway, the path is clear now. Let's head inside and find those generators" Latias said.
Everyone nodded and ran into the building.
Back in Hammerlocke, the group finally reached the building. They ran inside, finally stopping at the steel door. Leon tried a code but nothing happened.
"Damn, I don't know the password" he said.
"So what do you suggest we do Lee?" Hop asked.
They started to think until Ash got an idea. He let out Cinderace.
"Hey Cinderace, you think you can hack into the door to open it?" He asked.
"I can try" she said.
Cinderace walked up to the control panel. She quickly scanned it.
"Hmm...I think I can get into it, but it'll take a few minutes" she said.
Inteleon popped out and walked up to her. "I'll protect her while she works on it" he said. This made Cinderace blush deep crimson.
Ash nodded. They suddenly heard footsteps coming up to them. They turned and saw Misty, Jessie and Meowth smiling wickedly at them.
"We knew you twerps would be here, so now it's time for you to surrender" Jessie said after laughing.
"Like hell we will!" Ash said with anger.
"Ashy~ We don't have to fight~" Misty said.
Ash shivered at the way she spoke. 'She's completely lost it...!' He thought.
"You don't get to call him that!" Serena said as she stepped forward. "Only I'M allowed to!"
Misty turned to Serena. "Then I'll just have to kill you first."
"If you lay one finger on her I'll incinerate you!" Delphox growled.
"Ugh, a Fire type, I hate them almost as much as bugs. Water types are so much better" Misty said with a scowl.
"Well this Water type hates you" Greninja growled.
Misty let out a Clawitzer and a Walrein, both taking battle positions.
Jessie let out a Roserade and a Grunbull, both taking battle positions. Meowth powered up his claws.
Gloria, Hop and Leon got ready to assist but Ash stopped them.
"You guys go up to the tower, we'll handle this and catch up" he said.
"We can't just leave you guys here" Gloria said.
"Ash is right, you two go on ahead. This is our fight" Serena said as she stared the two women down as she finished.
Gloria, Hop and Leon all looked at each other. They faced the group again.
"Alright then, we'll leave them to you" Leon said.
Gloria, Hop and Leon went towards the stairs that led to the top of the tower.
"Now then, give up twerps, or else" Jessie said with a laugh.
"Not gonna happen" Ash said. He turned to Greninja. The two nodded. "Greninja! Let's get even stronger, and go full power!"
The two initiated the transformation, letting out a big battle cry as the green water veil shot out. After a brief moment the water veil broke apart and formed into a green Water Shuriken on Greninja's back. Ash-Greninja got ready.
"Now you're the ones who should give up, or else" Ash said.
Jessie and Meowth grunted. Misty couldn't take her eyes off Greninja.
"What is that form?! It's so cool! Just like you Ashy~" she said with crazy hearts in her eyes.
Serena heard that and growled. She turned to Delphox. They both nodded. "Delphox! Let's show them our full power!"
Serena and Delphox initiated the transformation, letting out battle cries as a magenta fire veil burst out. After a brief moment it broke apart and gathered to form a magenta Fire Shuriken on Delphox's back. Serena-Delphox got ready as well.
Misty saw this and scoffed. "That doesn't look so special to me."
A couple cross popping veins appeared on Delphox's head, followed by growling.
"That's it! Since you love water so much, I'll turn you into puddle!!" Delphox yelled as her fist started to spark blue electricity.
"Walrein use Ice Beam on Delphox! Clawitzer use Aura Sphere on Delphox as well!" Misty said as she pointed at Delphox.
The two Pokémon shot out their attacks towards Delphox. Said Pokémon jumped into the and dived down towards Walrein. She landed and immediately punched it with her fist, knocking it back.
"Clawitzer use Water Pulse!" Misty said.
"Sidestep and use Fire Slash!" Serena said as she and Delphox readied their sides.
Delphox did so and slashed at Clawitzer, who grunted in pain.
"Dragon Pulse!" Misty said.
"Use Fire Shuriken as a shield!" Serena said as she reached behind her back.
Delphox grabbed her Shuriken and put it in front of her. It soon made contact with the Dragon Pulse, causing a smoke cloud.
Over with Ash, he and Greninja were fighting off Roserade and Granbull.
"Roserade Energy Ball! Grunbull use Sludge Bomb!" Jessie said.
"Use Aerial Ace to kick the Energy Ball into Sludge Bomb!" Ash said as he prepared his leg to kick.
Greninja powered up his leg and kicked the Energy Ball into the Sludge Bomb, causing an explosion.
"Water Shuriken!" Ash said as he and Greninja reached behind their backs.
Greninja threw the Shuriken which struck Grunbull.
"Poison Jab Roserade!" Jessie said.
Roserade powered up its flower hands and ran towards Greninja.
"Double Team!" Ash countered.
Multiple copies of Greninja appeared. Roserade struck the nearest one but it wasn't the real one.
"Half of you use Aerial Ace while the other half use Night Slash!" Ash said.
The Greninja copies did so. Roserade was repeatedly struck by the attacks. It started to weaken. The real Greninja suddenly jumped into the air.
"Water Shuriken!" Ash said as he held his arm in the air.
Greninja held up a Shuriken in the air. The Shuriken started to absorb the copies, making it grow bigger. Greninja then hurled it at Roserade. A big explosion erupted. After it ended, it showed Roserade laying motionless with swirls for eyes. This shocked Jessie greatly. She growled as she recalled Roserade.
Pikachu and Sylveon were currently battling Meowth in close quarters. Meowth tried slashing at them but the two dodged all the strikes.
"Let's end this Sylveon!" Pikachu said.
"Ready when you are babe!" Sylveon said.
The two jumped to opposite sides. Meowth looked back and forth between the two.
"W-Wait!" He said with panic in his voice.
Pikachu fired an Electro Ball while Sylveon fired a Moonblast. The two attacks hit Meowth, causing an explosion and him to cry out in pain. After it ended, Meowth laid unconscious and defeated. Pikachu and Sylveon let out a sigh as they rejoined each other.
"That takes care of him" Pikachu said.
"He wasn't as strong as I remember" Sylveon said.
"You remember him being strong?" Pikachu said.
Sylveon laughed at that question. "Touché my love. Touché."
Over to Cinderace and and Inteleon, Cinderace was still trying to hack the system, although she was struggling.
"Dammit! This is more complex than I thought. I don't know if I'll be able to get in at this point..." she said with sadness.
"Don't give up Cinderace" Inteleon said. He placed a hand on her shoulder, causing her to look at him. "I believe in you" he said with a smile.
Cinderace blushed hard and had hearts for eyes. 'H-HE BELIEVES IN ME?!?!' She internally squealed. She refocused on the panel and focused like mad. 'If he believes in me, then I can do this!'
Back with Serena's battle with Misty, Delphox continued to decimate Misty's Pokemon. She jumped up and front flipped in between Walrein and Clawitzer. She punched Walrein with a Static Strike before dodging a Water Pulse from Clawitzer, leaving it vulnerable to a swift Fire Slash. She then ducked down, dodging an Ice Beam from Walrein and a Aura Sphere from Clawitzer, causing the two attacks to hit the other. Delphox rose up and slammed her fist into the ground, releasing a Psychic Burst, blowing both back in opposite directions. Delphox side glared at Misty as she finished her assault, her glowing magenta eyes intimidating her greatly. After a smoke cloud cleared, it showed Walrein and Clawitzer motionless and had swirls for eyes.
Misty started to stomp on the ground. "No, no! This wasn't how it was supposed to go!!"
'...is she for real?' '...is she for real?' Serena and Delphox both thought.
Back to the battle between Ash and Jessie, Grunbull kept trying to bite down on Greninja, who managed to avoid them.
"Water Shuriken!" Ash said as he reached behind his back.
Greninja grabbed his Shuriken and threw it towards Grunbull. It dodged but this was what Greninja wanted.
"Aerial Ace" Ash said as he readied his fist.
Greninja ran forward with his fist glowing. He punched Grunbull right in the stomach, causing it to cough out saliva. Greninja punched it a few more times, finishing with a leg uppercut, sending it flying. It crashed into the wall, hitting the ground with a thud. It had swirls for eyes.
Jessie growled as she glared at Ash. "Lousy twerp!"
"Glare at me all you want, you've lost...again" Ash said.
Jessie was fuming. Misty wasn't fairing much better. Misty suddenly ran towards Serena. She readied a hidden weapon that Faba gave her.
"I'll never let you have Ash you bitch!!!!" She yelled as she readied it.
Before she could reach Serena, she was intercepted by Delphox. She grabbed her wrist holding the weapon. Misty looked at her and grew scared. Delphox had a look of pure hatred in her eyes. She started to tighten her grip.
"Don't" she started as she crushed Misty's wrist, causing her to cry out in pain.
"Touch" she continued as she proceeded to break her arm.
"HER!!!" She finished as she punched her as hard as she could in the face.
Misty was on the floor crying and gushing blood from her now broken nose. Delphox walked away and back to Serena. The latter was surprised but couldn't help but think that Misty deserved that. Serena walked up to Misty and picked her up, only to throw her against the wall, knocking her out. Without thinking, she spat on her.
"Sweet dreams bitch" she hissed as she walked away.
Jessie tried to run away but something suddenly appeared in front of her. She gasped at who it was.
"It's you! What are you doing here you blue blob!" She said.
"Wobbufett!" He said as he stretched his arms out to his sides.
"I would say prepare for trouble, but it looks like trouble found you" a voice said.
Everyone turned and saw a man with purple hair and an Inkay and Gourgeist floating next to him.
"James!" Ash and Serena said with a smile.
"Seems I missed the fight" he said. He walked up to the two. "It's good to see you both. And good job winning the Galar League Tournament Serena."
"It's good to see you too, and thanks" Serena said.
"I'd like to help you if could. Mind catching me up to speed?" He asked.
Ash and Serena explained the situation to him.
"I see. Well I can watch over them so they don't escape and alert anyone else" he offered.
"That would be really helpful" Ash said.
"James! You worthless little—" Jessie growled as she started to walk towards him, only to be knocked out by a neck chop, curtesy of Gourgeist.
"Right then, now all that's left is—" Ash said, however he was cut off by a loud bang.
They all turned and saw the door panel completely destroyed. Cinderace and Inteleon remained frozen in place. They both fell backwards, revealing their fronts covered in soot. They coughed a ball of smoke out of their mouths. They both had swirls for eyes.
"I...got it...no problem..." Cinderace weakly moaned.
"Yay..." Inteleon weakly moaned.
Everyone sweatdropped seeing this. The door slowly opened, revealing a darkly lit hallway.
"That must be the way to the lab" Ash said.
Ash and Serena let out Lucario, Decidueye, Gardevoir and Primarina. Serena also let out Ninetails to go with her.
"Alright guys, this is where we part ways, we're counting on you all" Ash said.
The Pokémon nodded. The two groups split up, James and his Pokémon staying behind to watch the criminals.
Back at Rose Tower, the Pokémon kept running towards the generator room.
"I hope what that grunt Pokémon said was true" Zoroark said.
"Let's hope so, we probably don't have much time left" Lilligant said.
They finally reached the door they were told about. Latias opened it and they all ran in. They were met by a large group of Pokémon grinning at them.
"Why am I not surprised..." Pancham said with annoyance.
"Well well well, looks like we've got some new victims boys!" The Pokemon in the front said, which was a Machamp.
The group got into battle stances, as did the enemy group.
"When I'm done with them they'll be begging for death" one of them said.
"Oh yeah tough guy? When I'm done with you, I'm gonna go find Ash, and nibble on his head" Dracovish said in a serious voice and matching expression.
The two groups charged at each other, attacks going off everywhere.
Back in Hammerlocke, Ash and Serena were running up towards the top of the tower to meet up with Gloria, Hop and Leon, their Pokémon following close behind. Delphox noticed a weird look in Ninetails' eyes.
'This time...this time I'll stop him for good! I have to! I won't lose another mother!' She said to herself.
"Ninetails..." Delphox softly whispered.
They finally reached the top. They ran up and saw Leon, Gloria and Hop facing Rose and Faba. Once they came into view, Faba smirked.
"Speaking of which" he said.
Everyone turned to see the group run up to them.
"The gang is all here now" Faba said.
Back at Rose Tower, the group defeated all the enemies. Zoroark walked up to Machamp. She grabbed him and held him in the air.
"Now then, let's try this again. WHERE. IS. THE GENERATOR ROOM!" She yelled.
Machamp confessed the location. Zoroark threw him away and the group left. They eventually reached a door. Lilligant kicked it open and the group entered. They all saw a few rows of generators attached to large wires going all over the room.
"Guess these are the things we need to destroy" Kartana said.
"Dracovish, see if you can find a turn off button or something" Latias said.
"I love buttons!" Dracovish said. He walked away to find it.
Dragapult started sniffing the air.
"What's wrong?" Pancham asked.
"Does anybody else smell something strange?" She asked.
Everyone was confused. They started smelling the air.
"Now that you mention it, something does smell weird" Latias said.
Dracovish came up to them.
"Did you find a button?" Latias asked.
"No but I found the nap room" he said.
"Nap room?" Kartana said.
Dracovish led them to the room he was just in.
Down in the laboratory, the group entered a large opening with a big metal cylinder in the middle, which held a giant orb of some kind.
"What could that possibly be?" Primarina said.
"Some kind of generator maybe? This region seems to be filled with them" Gardevoir said.
"How are we supposed to find a good place to destroy this stuff?" Inteleon said.
"We can't afford to scan the whole area" Cinderace said.
'...scan...' That word echoed in Lucario's and Decidueye's minds. Their eyes widened. They looked at each other. They both nodded. They closed both their eyes.
Primarina and Gardevoir felt something overtake them. They turned to see their respective boyfriends' eyes closed and concentrated on something. The antennas behind Lucario's head started to rise up as his body glowed. Decidueye also started to glow indigo. Decidueye opened his left eye, revealing his Aura powered eye, the sclera being its normal white.
"What are they doing?" Cinderace asked.
"They're using their Aura to scan for possible spots" Primarina answered.
Lucario eventually spotted a good area.
"Decidueye. Another control panel to the northeast" he instructed.
Decidueye looked and saw it too. "Found it. It's perfect. Let's inform the others." He suddenly saw a weird trail of colors fly by. He followed the travel path, leading it into the weird orb thing. "What is this thing?" He focused more Aura to look inside it, barely making out a blurry figure.
Back on the tower, Ash and the others faced Faba and Rose.
"Faba! We won't let you try to destroy this region!" Ash said.
"Destroy? I'm not going to destroy it." His smirk turned into a wicked grin. "I'm going to do what Giovanni and Jack failed to do! I'll lay waste to it and then transform Galar into my own image, with super powerful Pokémon as my enforcers! And then I'll destroy Alola and everything you both hold so dear!" Faba yelled with a laugh.
This time Rose was surprised.
"What?! But you said a great calamity was coming and in order to protect it I needed to initiate the Darkest Day!"
Faba turned to him. "Yes. A great calamity is coming."
In the lab, Decidueye kept trying to get a clearer look. The figure suddenly started to move around. Blood red eyes started to glow.
In Rose Tower, Dracovish pointed to the room he was in before.
"I came in here and I saw her napping, so I figured this was the nap room" he explained.
The group entered and saw a body on the floor. They all went over to inspect it.
Faba smiled again.
Everyone gasped when they saw the dead body of Oleana with a pool of blood around her.
The orb started to crack.
"My arrival!!" Faba declared.
The orb shattered and released a beam of light that blew everyone the laboratory away from each other. It breached the ceiling and eventually made its way up to the tower where everyone else was.
The Pokémon in the lab moaned as they looked up, only to let out a terrified breath.
"What...is that...?" Gardevoir asked with fear.
A Pokémon that no one recognized hovered above its now destroyed prison. It had a large orange and purple head and a body that looked a human skeleton. It also had a glowing orb in its belly area. It let out a mighty roar that shook the whole lab. Everyone had to cover their ears from how loud it was. The Pokémon then flew up into the hole it had made.
"Well that's not good" Decidueye said.
"We need to destroy this lab as soon as possible! Let's get to work!" Gardevoir said.
Everyone nodded and ran towards the control panel.
Back in Rose Tower, everyone heard a loud noise from far away.
"What was that?!" Pancham said.
"Is it the end of the world?" Dracovish said.
Everyone saw a giant beam coming from Hammerlocke.
"...let's not rule anything out yet" Kartana said.
"Come on! We have to destroy those generators no matter what!" Latias said.
Everyone nodded and headed back towards the generators.
On top of Hammerlocke tower, Ash and the group held on as they waited for the light to weaken. Said light breached the sky, turning it black. Glowing particles started to shower over Galar.
In Wedgehurst, computer screens were flashing red. Everyone looked and saw the particles raining down.
"What are those?" Goh asked.
"They're wishing stars" Professor Magnolia answered.
"But why are there so many of them?" Chloe asked.
Victor and Sonia suddenly remembered a conversation they had when they were both in Turffield.
"Oh no..." Sonia said.
"It can't be..." Victor said.
"Beebee! There's something happening at Hammerlocke-roto!" Rotom said.
"Put it on screen" Professor Magnolia said.
The screen on the largest computer connected to a view of Hammerlocke tower.
The Pokémon suddenly flew out of the hole and hovered above the tower.
"What is that thing?!" Serena said.
"Behold! The instrument to see my vision become reality! Eternatus!!" Faba yelled.
Eternatus let out a mighty roar as lightning burst from the sky.
"Faba! This wasn't the idea I had in mind! Eternatus is too dangerous and unable to control!" Rose yelled.
"Hmph. Funny you say that, that little errand girl of yours said the same thing" Faba said.
Rose finally realized that he hasn't seen Oleana for quite some time, not even getting a single phone call. He gasped at the most likely explanation.
"No...y-you didn't..." he said.
Faba looked at him directly. "She was in my way. But her usefulness had already ended. Just like yours has."
Rose was now terrified. "N-No! P-P-Please! I'm begging y—"
Faba pulled out a gun and shot him in the head before he finish his plead for survival. Ash, Serena and their Pokémon were speechless. Leon's eyes widened in horror. Gloria was so shocked she started to fall over, but Hop caught her and held her tightly in his arms.
"Now then. Let the reign of Galar King Faba, begin!!" He yelled.
Eternatus let out another powerful roar as everyone took fighting positions.
And that ends part I! Sorry this took so long to get out, been very tired lately, plus writing the Galar League Tournament arc in quick succession took a lot out of me too. I hope you all are enjoying this arc so far. I'll try to get the next chapter out soon. Power to the Readers!
