It's been a peaceful week. I have been able to restock my cabinet, move into Magnus and I's loft, and help other warlocks. Today we have a cabinet meeting. My darling Alexander is a genius.
"I made it real." Alexander said.
"What real?" I asked him.
"A cabinet just for downworlders. So, I can hear what y'all have to say and I can help make changes." He explained.
This man is amazing.
"That's amazing, Alec." Jace said.
"Darling, should I wear a suit?" I asked Magnus
"Yes, you'll look hot." He said before my phone rang
"It's Alexander." I told him before putting the call on speaker
"Hi Stella. Hi Magnus." He told us
"Hello, angel/Alexander" Magnus and I said
"I'm worried about the meeting. It's important that this meeting tonight go smoothly." He told us
"It will. We'll be by your side the whole time." I told him
"Actually, I'd... rather y'all not." Alec told us
"Have we done something wrong?" Magnus asked
"No, not at all. It's just, I don't want to be accused of any kind of... warlock favoritism." He told us
"I see." Magnus said
"Perhaps another warlock should go instead." I told him
"No, I... I need you two there, magnus, Stella, but as warlock representatives, not as my boyfriend or girlfriend. Is that okay?" He asked
I looked at Magnus and saw we were both smiling.
"Of course, It's best that we keep our professional and personal lives separate." I told him
"Thank you." He told us before hanging up
"He called us his boyfriend and girlfriend." I told Magnus
"I know, darling. He's starting to open up more." Magnus told me
I just smiled, continuing to find my outfit for the day.
"Perfect. I'm ready for the meeting." I said
"Yes, you are." Magnus said twirling me around "Shall we my dear?" He asked as we stepped through.
I saw as Raphael and Meliorn entered the hall. Magnus and I right behind them.
"Lovely to see you, Mr. lightwood." Magnus and I said at the same time
"And you, Mr. Bane, Ms. Stella. Thank you for taking the time." He said shaking our hands
"We wouldn't miss it. We have tremendous respect for the new Head of the Institute." Magnus told him as I kissed his cheek before going to the hall.
"I'm offically head." Alec said
"Oh my god. Big brother! Congratulations!" Isabelle yelled, hugging him. I saw Jace hug him, and I couldn't be prouder of my mate.
We reached the group taking a seat around the table. Alec, Meliorn, Raphael, Me, Magnus, and Luke in that order.
"So, what does this Downworld Cabinet even mean?" Raphael asked
"It means creating total transparency about all Shadowhunter decisions that involve the Downworld. The goal is to have weekly meetings here to discuss any updates, questions, concerns." Alec told us
"Well, I applaud Mr. Lightwood for his progressive thinking." Magnus said
"Because you're totally unbiased." Raphael said
"You are not one to talk, Raphael." I told him
"Alec, you're not the first to attempt something like this, but it never works out because the Clave is not willing to compromise." Meliorn told him
"He is right. I have seen it myself." I told him
"But I am. In time, we will be able to reason with the Clave. I'm sure of it." Alec said
"And what about Valentine? Can this cabinet appeal for his execution?" Luke asked
"If this is going to work, we can't start with the impossible." Alec said
"Why is that impossible? He is the man who is responsible for massacring hundreds of our people. A man who is beneath our feet." Luke told him
"Luke, I know you're upset, but we have to be diplomatic about this." I told him
"Diplomacy gets us nowhere. Nothing has changed in 20 years." Luke exclaimed
"The werewolves aren't the only ones with their vendetta. Everyone has a reason to want Valentine dead. Magnus more than anyone." I said
"Why is that?" Luke asked Magnus
"You said total transparency." Magnus told Alec who nodded his head
"You remember Azazel?" Magnus asked Luke. I could only remember the 12 hours I had to suffer. I grabbed Magnus hand in comfort. "Before we sent him back to Hell, he used... demonic magic to put Valentine's mind in my body." He told them
"So, Valentine was walking freely, wearing your face?" Raphael asked
"Yes, but not for long. he's now back in his cell, for good." Magnus told him
"Why wasn't Stella able to tell the difference between you two?" Luke asked.
"I'm surprised, I'm the alpha. It's still a shock to me." Luke said
"Azazel... he um... he did an old spell used back in the day when I was probably 200 years where the person remembers their worst fear, memories, nightmare. I had to get away before I caused someone harm." I told Meliorn and Luke, since everyone else knew
"I'm sorry you had to go through that, Stella." Meliorn said. I only nodded my head in thanks
"I'm sorry, Stella. But this is what I'm talking about. The Clave has to know about this. If Valentine was able to escape, they have to execute him." Luke told Alec
"The Clave already knows. It won't change their minds. What other options do we have?" Alec asked him
"I need to talk to my pack. Excuse me while I make a phone call." Luke told us, walking away
"Let's take a recess." Alec told us
We all got up.
Raphael and Meliorn walked away while I stayed next to Magnus, until I saw Raphael and a shadowhunter arguing.
"I've never seen him before." Isabelle said.
"He must be new." Jace added
"Please step away from my son before I make you, Mr. Verlac." I said
"Sorry, Ms. Stella. I was just reminding Raphael of some rules." He told me
"I don't like when people lie to me. Tell my son that he is bad for Isabelle again, you'll see just why I am the High Warlock of New York. Now leave us before I make you." I told him as he left.
"Mijo, are you okay?" I asked towards Raphael
"Yes, mamma. Thank you, but I could have handled him." Raphael told me
"I know, but I do not trust Sebastian. My powers stir when I'm around him. Anyway, please don't give up on Isabelle. You guys are wonderful." I told him
"I promise, mamma." He said hugging me before Alec called us back
We all sat waiting on Luke.
"I understand your concerns. When Luke gets back, we can discuss a neutral location for meetings." Alec told us before Sebastian came over
"Might I speak to you for a moment?" He asked Alec
"Excuse me." Alec told us as he and Sebastian walked away
Soon the meeting came to an end. I bid goodbye to Meliorn as he twirled me around. Raphael, kissed my forehead, while I went back to Magnus who was holding a handout for me.
"You truly are loved, Stella." Clary said.
"I try to always have friends and family." I told her.
"Are you ready?" He asked me
"Yes, let's go home." I told him as we teleported home instead of portaling.
