Plans kept on falling through with Evan again and again. He was persistent, and Cecilia felt herself trying to shut him out even more. It got to the point that he would threaten to leave her because plans were never be able to be set.
"So, just leave me!" She said one day.
Really though, with a temper like him, she wondered why he was still lingering around her.
It was never going to happen. Not for a while. He was a man, he could be able to wait, because all things come to those who wait, right?
"Well now that you say it..."
The line went silent.
Cecilia was working and just ignored all of her texts for a bit. Until, one of her friends texted through and wanted to comfirm plans for tonight.
After work, Cecilia would be having a party with a couple of friends, just a casual gathering. When she went to that party, she became scared because Evan revealed himself to the room, and "cosmo" must've been a hot topic.
She just decided to have a party at home, and she would be too tired from work.
"Maybe I should get myself a venti shaken espresso from starbucks."
Eh, no time.
Her friends were coming in for 5, and she was leaving work at 4. Not a lot of time for herself.
A text rang through from Evan, but she ignored it.
Finally, she got out of work. Another day done.
She freshened up in the shower and put on a fresh change of clothes. Nothing happened to life. Sometimes, it feels like she has to be a fake persona, and she felt bland.
For now, she plastered a smile and her friends. Some social time will make her feel better.
As they rolled in, things seemed to get better.
Until, the discussion on relationships came in. Most of her friends were in relationships that were stable for the most part. She thought about Joesph and Evan, and it seemed like neither of them seemed right.
Cecilia's mom brought down some wine and fancy drinks. Cecilia started to take a drink.
One drink turned into two, and two turned into too many to count.
The room started to spin, and everything became blank and hazy.
All she remembered was everybody celebrated for the new year, and she texted both Joesph and Evan.
Joesph got back to her right away.
Evan brushed it off.
Yet, behind the screen, he can tell something was off.
"You seem a little off."
"Isn't that a good thing for you?"
'I'm not complaining, but it's not you."
"How so?"
"First, you're always asleep by 9pm, next, you're saying some questionable things to me. And, I just have a feeling something is going on right now?"
Cecilia ignored him.
"Are you drinking?"
"Yes?"
"Never did I think that you'd be a drinker. How much did you have?"
"I can't tell you, I lost count."
"Lost count? Are you home?"
"Yes."
"Cosmo, what the fuck are you doing?"
"Sadly not you."
"That's my line."
"It's mine now."
"Don't do that to me. What is with you and doing harm to yourself? First, it's mental and now this."
"I never drank before."
"Still doesn't accept the fact that you're harming yourself."
"You don't care about me, what's the point?"
"Whatever. Don't beg for me when you need help again."
"I wanna be saved."
"Ok."
She just finished drinking her drink and took another one immediately.
All of the lights were flashing even more brighter and the sound of David Guetta's most iconic tunes made life seem like a blur.
Cecilia felt her eyes close.
The next morning, she woke up, drool coming out of her mouth, surrounded by cans of hard sletzers. Everybody else was passed out, either on couches or on the floor. She looked at the time.
She had to be in work for 10, and it was 9:30.
"What happened?" Cecilia felt her head still spinning.
Hangover. Cecilia started to cry and scrunched down in the mess of cans.
