(Eric's POV)
It's been a few weeks since EJ's birthday. EJ loves his friends Jack, Lucas and Josette. They come over a lot. It honestly reminds me of my ex best friends. Like when I was EJ's age. I really hope they have a better story then I did.
Since it is thanksgiving today, I don't have work. So I did sleep in for a little. But when I woke up I didn't see Carley. So I went looking for her. But it was pretty easy since I knew she was in the kitchen.
I walked downstairs with just pants on. I didn't put a shirt on because EJ doesn't care. And Carley likes my body. So I walked downstairs and saw Taylor
"Ewww coverup Eric!" Taylor said
"Taylor? What are you doing here? Is James here?" I asked looking for my brother
"He's with Devon and EJ like normal" She said as she drank her coffee
"Who gave you coffee?" I asked confused
"I did" Carley finally saying something
"Hi my beautiful wife" I said going over and kissed her softly
"Hi. Please go put a shirt on. Your mom, Tessa, Mikey and Jason are coming over. And your mom is not gonna be happy to see you without a shirt on" She said
"Well this is our house Car. Why does it matter?" I asked her
"I don't want to see my brother in law without a shirt" Taylor said
"What are you doing here so early?" I asked
Taylor and Carley laugh. Then noticed I wasn't laughing
"You do know that it's 12 pm right?" Charli said
"No it's not" I said shaking my head with a laugh.
"Uh yeah it is Eric" Taylor said then showed me her phone, for the time.
I saw that they were telling the truth. That is noon and I had slept all morning.
"Wow. I must have been very tired" I said admitting
"That's what happens when you work all the time" Carley said bringing over a plate. "I saved you some food" She said putting it in front of me. She kissed my cheek
"Thank you" I said with a smile
After eating the food I went upstairs and put a shirt on. Then went back downstairs. The front door was being knocked on. When I opened the door I saw my mom, Mikey, Tessa, Jason. Also Mikey and Tessa boyfriend and girlfriend
"Hey guys come on in" I said opening the door
I pull Mikey aside. "Why are Paul and Emily here?" I asked him softly
"Mom called Carley and asked if it was ok to bring them. Carley said it was" He said smacking my hand away
"Ok" I said nodding
"Are we good?" He asked me
"Yep" I said
(Carley's POV)
Stephanie and Jason come in.
"Hey guys" I said with a smile
"Hi Carley. Thank you for inviting the family" Stephanie said giving me a hug
"I know Eric loves seeing you guys" I said
"It was nice of you to also invite Paul and Emily" Jason said kissing my cheek in hello
"Yeah well boyfriends and girlfriends should spend thanksgiving together" I said
"How is EJ doing in kindergarten?" Stephanie asked
"I think EJ loves it. He actually has a little crew. His two best friends are Jack and Lucas. And Josette to but that's like his best girl friend" I said
"And who are those three?" Jason asked, confused
"Jack and Lucas are the boys who I brought to this house the first day of kindergarten. I told you about them" Stephanie said to Jason
"I don't remember" He said shrugging
"Why don't you just go out to the boys ok?" Stephanie said to her husband
"Ok" He said and walked off
"Sorry about him" She said to Taylor and I
"Don't worry Stephanie" I said
"Yeah. We get how Jason is" Taylor said agreeing with me
There was a knock at the door. "That must be Michelle, Annie and Ben" I said
"I got it" Taylor said. Then went to our door to get the front door.
Michelle came over with Annie and Taylor. "Hey Carley. Hi mom" Michelle said to me and Stephanie
"Hi grandma. Hi Aunt Carley" Annie said
"Hey Michelle" I said giving her a hug. "Hi Annie" I said giving her a hug as well
"So I'm guessing my cousins are in the living room?" Annie asked
"Yep" I said to her
"Mom can I go out there?" Annie asked Michelle
"Sure sweetie" Michelle said to her daughter
Annie walked out to her cousins.
"Oh, how we are screwed" Michelle said to Taylor and I
"I see Annie is saying mom now" I said
"Yeah. I'm not happy about it" She said
"Luckily Devon hasn't started saying mom yet" Taylor said
"Get ready for it" Michelle and I said
"Yeah having all my kids saying mom instead of mommy sucked" Stephanie said
"Hey I called you mommy until I was 10" Michelle aid to Stephanie
"Yeah but Eric stopped calling me that when he was 6" She to her oldest child
(Eric's POV)
The couples are talking and kissing mostly. But the kids aren't watching. They are too focus on the tv. Which is good because I don't want me kid to see his aunt and uncle kissing their boyfriend and girlfriend. Mostly making out with them to be real.
"Uncle Mikey do you want to play?" Devon asked Mikey
Mikey doesn't answer. Devon was about to turn.
"Hey Devon how about i join you?" I asked my nephew
"Yeah dad come play" EJ said to me but not turning around
I go over and play with them for awhile
A couple more hours. It's 5 at night now. Dinner is almost ready. But we all started to gather around the dining table. We ordered some sushi as appetizer. The kids aren't gonna like it but the adults do. Well most of us do.
After another 30 minutes the Turkey was done. Carley brought over the Turkey. But I quickly took it from her
"Thanks" She said
"You should have called me from the start" I said putting the Turkey on the table.
I started to cut pieces out. And once I gave all the kids their food. Then the adults got there stuff.
"Alright I know we do this every year but I would like to continue the tradition" I said.
"What's the tradition dad?" EJ asked me
"Well EJ, when your aunts, and uncles and I all were younger. Our aunt and uncle had us go around the table to each person. And that person says what they are thankful for. So ill start to get it going" I said. I stood up
"I am thankful for my family. Both families. Meaning both my siblings, mom and step dad. But also my immediate family. Meaning Carley, EJ, Skylar, Emma and Noah. And pretty soon 2 more kids. I hope we have a great rest of the year" I said sitting down now
"Oh is it my turn?" Carley asked since she was sitting next to me
I nod. She stood up. "You don't have to stand up if you don't want to Car" I said to her
"I got it" She said standing up. "I am thankful for my family. Pretty much the same as Eric. Except I'm taking about my mom, dad and siblings. But I also mean Eric's family because you guys have took me in with open arms and it feels really good. EJ, Noah, Skylar and Emma I love you guys. And Eric I love you, and I wouldn't have this with anyone but you" She said looking at me.
I smile and kiss her hand
After a couple of the adults went it was EJ's turn.
"I am thankful for my friends. Jack, Lucas and Josette. I'm so thankful for my parents and siblings" He said
I smile happily because he did say he's thankful for us. Even though he doesn't call us mommy and daddy anymore. At least he still loves us
After everyone going around being thankful. We finally ate dinner. Then everyone left. Noah was out after eating his food. Skylar and Emma were sleeping at the table.
(EJs POV)
I am a little tired. That's a lie I'm very tired. I don't know why. But I mean everyone went home. My mom and dad are still up.
"Hey dad?" I asked my dad
"Yeah bud?" My dad said facing me now
"Can you read more of diary of the wimpy kid?" I asked
He smiles and nods. "I'm just gonna help your mom with the dishes really quick. And I'll be right up. Ok?" He said to me
"Ok" I said and nodded. I went upstairs and picked out the book we were reading.
After 20 minutes my dad came up but with wet hair
"What happened?" I asked
"Your mom and I had a water fight. And she won" He said chuckling. He comes over and takes the book. "So where did we leave off?"
"I don't remember" I said
"Well I'll start at chapter 4. And if it doesn't sound familiar then we can go back" He said
I nod with a smile. He turned to the chapter. And started to read. He does his voices like he normally does. And it makes me laugh. After he was done with the chapter I was super tired now. And was slowly closing my eyes
"Alright buddy you should go to sleep" He said putting the book away
"Ok. Goodnight dad. I love you" I said to him
He comes over and kissed my head. "I love you two bud. Goodnight. Sweet dreams" He said then went to my door.
I turn over and fell asleep
(Eric's POV)
After I saw EJ turn over I turned off his lights. Then walked into Carley and my room.
Carley was getting ready for bed.
"Do you need help?" I asked her
"Maybe a little" She said with a laugh
I go over and help her with her shirt and pants. Then helped her put her pjs in.
"Let's hope the twins don't come out" She said
"Yeah it would be scary if they came now" I said
"Well let's hope they don't" She said and kissed my lips. "Goodnight" She said
"Goodnight. I love you" I said to her
"I love you" She said then went to sleep
I relaxed my eyes and ended up falling asleep.
