*Ring Ring*
You hear the doorbell chiming as you entered the cafe you worked at part-time, and you were instantly greeted by a song by NewJeans.
Thought to cafe, the hit song "ditto" played loudly, and you loved it. Ever since NewJeans debut, they had an explosion of popularity, them being famous almost out the gate.
When you think about it, it's crazy. You remember that before their debut, they were all just a bunch of trainees hoping that their dreams will come true, and then boommm!
They had instant success and it was well deserved. Everyone in NewJeans was honestly so talented and filled with so much heart, they deserved their fame.
Through Korea and even social media NewJeans was everywhere. Restaurants, Cafe, Bus Station, workplace, home , conventions, you can always hear their beautiful voice no matter where you were.
As you listen to Hanni's beautiful voice, you couldn't help but reminisce. From a no life to being an Idol's boyfriend. It was quite the story. As you continued your work shift, you began to remember how the two of you first met.
-------Flashback---------
As the winds blew across Korea and the sun's rays hit your face, you continued to live your everyday life as an average university student. The routine was waking up early to go to school and working at a nearby cafe your aunt owns. You were fortunate to be able to study abroad at Dong-ah Institute of Media and Arts college, coming from Vietnam. Your parents wanted you to have top-notch education, so they sent you to Korea to study abroad.
You live with your aunt, and to pay for your necessities, you work at her local cafe. Working at her cafe, although somewhat dull due to being slow, was the least you could do as she was putting a roof over your head. You worked roughly five days a week, meaning you were almost always at the cafe working.
Although you were excited to move to a different country and explore new things, you were terrified of being alone. You knew no one in Korea besides your aunt, and although you knew bits of the language, you weren't exactly fluent. You were able to understand and speak, but you weren't able to write it or comfortably speak it. The small language barrier made working at the cafe so much more challenging, but it was one of the reasons why you were able to learn Korean quicker than most.
You were a quiet person with a timid personality. You had trouble communicating with others and were always a person who spoke when spoken to. You weren't antisocial, but you were shy.
Today was like any other day; you worked your typical shift after school. You stood at the counter as time ticked slowly, listening to the background music that filled the store. There was practically no one in the cafe, only you and your aunt working. You glance and scroll through your phone to pass the time. As you look at your feed, you notice that so many of your friends were in happy relationships, every post filled with laughs and smiles. Although I'm sure that not everything looks like the pictures, you envy your friends being able to find a partner.
Unlike your friends, you were alone. It wasn't like you were not attractive, but you didn't put in the effort to put yourself out there. You were a single pringle, and to see everyone so happy, you wanted to experience that. You wish you could find a partner soon.
*Ring*
You hear the bell ring, indicating a customer has just entered. You looked over to see a small girl with long, pretty black hair with the most beautiful eyes you have ever seen. With a long blue oversized hoodie, she entered the cafe.
You bowed as she walked in, she waved and bowed back. She has excellent manners.
Y/N: "Hello, Welcome to Hanyakbang Cafe. How may I help you today?" you said, doing your job.
She glanced at the menu, wondering what to get. With a finger on her lips and her head tilted, she honestly looked so cute.
???: "Ummm..." she muttered while still glancing at the menu. "What would you recommend?" she asked you.
Y/N: "I would personally recommend the Iced Americano?" you said while pointing to it on the menu. "It's our most popular drink."
???: "Hmm..." she said, thinking about it. "Okay. I'll have one Iced Americano please," she said, smiling brightly. Wow, she has such a beautiful smile, man... Whoever she is dating must be a lucky guy.
Y/N: "Would you like a regular or large?" you asked, trying to do your job.
???: "Just a regular is fine," she said, giving another adorable smile.
Y/N: "Okay..." you said, putting it in the system. "Can I have your name for the order?" you said, as it was protocol to ask for each customer's name to be down on the cup.
???: "For Hanni," she said quietly, so low that you couldn't hear her.
Y/N: "For Uh, H-honey?" you said with an unsure tone, thinking what her name was. "That's a cute name..." you mutter softly, not even thinking about what you are saying.
Hanni: "Y-Yeah," she said, not making eye contact with red cheeks. Why is she blushing? Did she hear me? OMGGGGG, you wanted to disappear from this world quickly. The embarrassment fills your body.
Y/N: "T-thank y-you, your order should take a c-couple of minutes." you stuttered, with your face becoming bloody red. The embarrassment filled your body as you couldn't even look at her anymore.
With the urge to jump off a cliff, you quickly made her drink. Due to her low voice, you swear to god you heard her name was "Honey," Honestly, Honey was a cute name, perfect for a pretty girl. You wrote it on the cup and placed it on the counter for pick up, and after calling her name for her to pick up her order, you ran into the back, not wanting to be seen.
She comes over and picks up her drink, and then soon leaves. You watched as she left the store, a little sad that you didn't try to shoot your shot, but you knew that you didn't have the guts for that. Even saying her name was cute was enough for you just to end it all from embarrassment. She was a pretty girl, but you doubt you'll ever see her again.

As you remember about the first encountered with Hanni , you also remember what she told you about her experience when we first met.
You remember cringing at the embarrassment of your mistake, wanting to crawl in a ball and disappear. Even when you remember the memory, it would cringe you out quite a bit.

Hanni POV
You quickly rushed to practice after getting a quick coffee from a cafe near the HYBE building. You had to run since you were already late to practice. As you checked in at the front desk, you set down all your stuff in the corner of the dance room and began practicing for your upcoming debut.
You were one of the lucky few that would debut in HYBE's new girl group, NewJeans. After a couple of years of endless practice, you were fortunate enough to debut. You worked endlessly, and it was nice to see that all your work was paying off.
After practice was over, you went over to drink your coffee. Although the Americano significantly diluted it since all the ice melted, it surprisingly tasted good.
Hanni: "Wow! Yummy!" you said to the other member of your debut group.
Hyein: "Can I try some?" the maknae asked, hoping for a small sip.
Hanni: "Yeah!" you said, quickly giving it to her, wanting to hear her opinion on it. This was your first time going to this cafe, even though it was so near.
Hyein: "Thank You," she said, happy to take a sip. "Eh?" she said, looking at the cup with confusion. "Unnie! They wrote your name as Honey," she laughed.
Hanni: "Really?!?" you said as you took the drink back and saw the name written on the cup.
"Honey"???
You looked at the cup in shock, red slowly filling your face. You then remember that the barista mentioned that your name was cute. That made you blush a bright crimson.
Hyein: "Ooooo~ I think someone likes youuu~" the maknae teased as your face continued to burn a bright red.
Hanni: "Shushh!" you said, shooing away the girl.
Gosh! He probably missed heard me... Hanni... Honey... Sounds similar... But man... He got your heart racing... I think I should go to that cafe more often...
