You and Wu-jin are sweeping the floors of the school he tries to make small talk with you but you only give blunt answers however he never stops trying. Your head perked up and you scanned the classroom with your eyebrows furrowed
"Something wrong?" Wu-jin questions as he looks at your frowning face
"Dae-su. He's gone" You mumble coldly as you look down.
"Aish, come on. Let's go find him" Wu-jin groans as he lays his mop on the wall. You do the same and shove your hands in your pocket. Wu-jin holds the door for you and you walk out looking up and down the hallway
"This way" You mutter walking towards a boy who had half of his body sticking out the window. Wu-jin follows
"What the...idiot. Come here." Wu-jin slaps Dae-su's head and pulls him in the window. He then closes the window.
"From that stunt you can finish the cleaning" You say walking towards Dae-su as he looks down at you
"What!?" He complains like a child
"You heard the girl" Wu-jin chuckles as you kept a serious expression on your face
"Fine" Dae-su gives in as he starts cleaning the windows. You and Wu-jin walk down the hallways him still trying to make small talk again but he seems to be happy...beaming...even if he's only getting blunt answers from you

You lit yourself a cigarette and start exiting the grounds as you've finished helping around the school and you've said your goodbyes to Wu-jin. Currently you're walking behind Gyeong-su and Cheong-san as you blew smoke from your lips feeling some stress leaving your body.
You know it'll all come back when you enter your own home but for now you might as well enjoy the peace. Suddenly Cheong-san and Gyeong-su stop making you bump into them dropping your cigarette
"Sorry, Y/n" Gyeong-su apologises as he bows his head
"Hm" You hum as you were about to walk off only for Gwi-nam to come up and wrap an arm around your shoulder
"Hey Cheong-san" Gwi-nam teases. Cheong-san ignores him and picks up the phone that On-jo made him drop
"You can't run away. Hey, gopher. Let's get some chicken. Want to come with, Y/n?" On-jo offers
"May I come too?" Gwi-nam questions acting innocent as he shakes your shoulders with a grin
"Of course!" I-sak agrees making Cheong-san and you mentally groan
"We're not open yet" Cheong-san speaks up
"Sure you are. Your mum says she's testing out a new recipe today. You're going right?" On-jo questions Gyeong-su after spotting him hit Cheong-san's shoulder
"Of course!" Gyeong-su cheerfully nods his head
"Are you going too?" Cheong-san questions I-sak
"Mm. Yes. I mean your mum told On-jo to bring her friends" I-sak informs
"Uh, so, is this a triple date?" Gyeong-su teases
"It is, indeed" Gwi-nam chuckles darkly as your face remains neutral
"If this was a date then it'll have intentions of a romantic or engagement appointment. Don't get your hopes up only to be disappointed" You exclaim with a neutral face staring straight at Gwi-nam who only clenches his jaw
"Well said, Y/n!" I-sak chuckles grabbing your arm and making you walk with On-jo and herself as the 3 boys follow behind

Cheong-san sat across from On-jo. Gyeong-su sat across from I-sak leaving Gwi-nam to sit across from you. Because of Gwi-nam being incredibly tall and some what lanky he spreads out his legs causing your ankle to graze his. He grins knowing he's doing it on purpose
Everyone excluding you and Cheong-san starts cheering when Cheong-san's mum comes out with 2 plates of chicken
"Looks great. Thank you" On-jo says happily
"It looks so good" I-sak compliments
"Thanks a lot" Gyeong-su claps
"Thank you" Gwi-nam acts nice with a devilish grin as he nods at Cheong-san's mum. You nod your head at his mum for a thank you as you turn your phone off because of the constant calls from your Father. He hates you going out during training hours and you know you're in for a 'lovely' treat once you get home
"Why'd you bring out so much?" Cheong-san questions as everyone digs into there food...again excluding you
"Remember On-jo eats a lot" Ms Lee giggles
"I don't eat a lot. I just eat well" On-jo defends herself
"Oh, yes, sure. That's what I like to hear. Eat up, Gyeong-su" Ms Lee laughs as he pats Gyeong-su's back
"Yep!" Gyeong-su replies already digging in
"You too, A-sak" Ms Lee turns to I-sak
"It's I-sak, not A-sak" I-sak corrects
"You change your name?" She questions with a polite smile. I-sak giggles
"Mum. If you wanna change names, you should start with the restaurant. Why are you using my name?" Cheong-san complains
"I named it Cheongsan chicken way before you were born" Ms Lee informs
"Exactly. You named me after the restaurant. I don't like—" Cheong-san grumbles
"Hey. Ah...Quiet. Okay. I really like it. Sounds like a tradition." Gyeong-su interrupts Cheong-san hitting his chest
"Yeah?" Ms Lee let's out a breath
"Of course!" Gyeong-su confirms
"He's right" I-sak follows up
"Who are these two quiet ones?" Ms Lee points to you who was glaring daggers at Gwi-nam because he kept rubbing his shoe on your ankle while shoving chicken in his mouth
"That's Yoon Gwi-nam and Y/n L/n" Gyeong-su introduces as you perk your head towards the lady her body stiffens when your eyes meet hers
"L/n?" She questions her voice gone shaky
"Ms Lee, are you okay?" On-jo questions
"Uh...yes! Yes!" She reassures On-jo as her eyes don't leave yours
"I assume you know my Father from the way your body tensed just from hearing his as well as my last name" You speak up. Your tone cold as your eyes never leave hers
"Yes...i've ran into him a few times" She chuckles awkwardly
"Mum?" Cheong-san questions as he looks at his mum with concern
"Your Dad is a very pleasant man" She ignores her son as she tries makes peace with you. You chuckle darkly sending shivers down everyones spine
"No need to lie, Ms Lee. He's a horrible man and whatever is has done to you...I apologise for his actions" You say shocking everyone
"What did her Dad do to you?" Cheong-san questions frustrated
"Oh, don't worry! Thank you for the apology, L/n. I don't mean to offend your family in any way but you are a lot more pleasant" She chuckles
"I wouldn't exactly call her pleasant. She's another devil from hell" Gwi-nam snickers as you look at the man unfazed. Everyone starts to laugh as they thought it was a joke.
"Look, so this is a new recipe we just came up with. So this one is just a little spicy, and this one's really hot. What do you think? Aren't you going to eat, L/n?" She questions looking at your figure. You had your hands stuffed in your pockets and your eyes on the table
"Right. Which one's a little spicy?" You perk up taking your hands out your pocket as she smiles at you
"What? Don't like hot foods?" Gwi-nam teases
"No. They burn my throat" You answer unfazed by his teasing. He snickers as he continues eating
"This one" Ms Lee points out and you take a piece of chicken taking a bite
"Thanks" You murmur
"What do you think? You can be totally honest with me." Ms Lee says mainly looking at you like she wants your approval
"It's super crazy mad good. It's delicious" Gyeong-su compliments
"Really?" Ms Lee asks happy
"Oh, ma'am, look. If you ever need a delivery boy, i'll work for cheap" Gyeong-su offers. You let out a small smile while looking at Gyeong-su but it instantly turns cold when you feel Gwi-nam continuing to rub his foot against your ankle harshly possibly causing scratches to appear later on
"You guys need to study. On-jo...L/n, is too hot?" Ms Lee questions while laughing
"It's good. Call me, Y/n" You compliment with a neutral face expression
"It's salty" On-jo comments
"Yeah? Oh... How about this one? Is it spicy?" Ms Lee questions concerned
"No. It's salty." On-jo denies
"Wait a sec. That's not... Uhm, honey!" Ms Lee looks concerned as she locks eye contact with you her body stiffens once again as she sees you take another bite of the chicken. Worried that you don't like it
"Yeah?" Chase-Yi responds
"She says it's salty." Ms Lee calls out
"It's salty?" Chase-Yi questions to confirm
"On-jo says it's salty" Ms Lee confirms walking over with a slight jog
"Wait, I...It can't be" Chase-Yi mumbles
"It's good. I don't think it's salty at all" I-sak speaks up
"Yeah, it's good" On-jo agrees making you raise an eyebrow at the girl who's now caused Cheong-san's parents to panic a bit
"Stop eating. It's salty" Cheong-san stops On-jo but she only continues
"It still tastes good" On-jo laughs as you stand up and head over to Cheong-san's parents
"Uh, Ms Lee" You mumble with your hands in your pocket. You feel Gwi-nam's eyes on you
"Yes, Y/n?" She smiles at you as Chase-Yi turns round and freezes once he's met with your cold stare
"If you want my approval of the chicken. It's good, it's not salty." You exclaim trying to calm down the parents
"Oh, thank you, Y/n!" She smiles warmly at you and you just nod and sit down Gwi-nam pulls your chair more into the table so your legs are closer as he rests his foot between your legs on the chair with a grin. You ignore him and tune into the conversation
"Did you hear our science teacher?" I-sak starts
"What about him?" You and Cheong-san question in union
"Well, he smells like a rotten corpse." I-sak starts the gossip making you groan
"Na-yeon spread that shit?" You grumble coldly. Gwi-nam takes his foot off your chair and sits up straight once he sees your eyes turn a shade darker as your hair falls into your face shadowing it a bit visibly showing the hatred you feel for Na-yeon
"It's true. He was absent after his son went missing. But then he came into class...she said he smelled like a rotten corpse" On-jo defends I-sak's point
"How does she know what a corpse smells like? Has she smelled one before?" Cheong-san questions
"I swear she knows every other smell expect that one. Since she never smelled it before, it has to be a rotting corpse." On-jo exclaims
"A decomposing body will most likely smell like rotting meat with fruity undertones. Depends on the multitude of factors. For example the make up of different bacteria presents in the body. Bacterial interactions as the body decomposes" You explain while looking at your chicken. Everyone looks at you blankly and you throw your head back in annoyance as they haven't understood a word you said
"Anyway...when his son went missing, he started acting weird" On-jo continues
"Cause he lost his son?" You murmur rolling your eyes at there stupid assumptions. If he cared for his son of course he's going to act different when finding out his sons missing. Though you thought he was dead considering he was pushed off the roof...meaning someone took his body
"He was an outcast. I heard he got bullied all the time." I-sak speaks up. You look at Gwi-nam to notice his body stiffen at there information
"Mm-hm. It sucks. I feel really bad for Mr. Lee. Remember last week when he just left class?" On-jo mumbles
"He's never done that before. They say he was a genius. Lots of geniuses go crazy" I-sak adds
"Watch out, Y/n. You may be the next target of going crazy" Gwi-nam jokes making everyone chuckle excluding you who shrugs off the joke and continues to eat
"Well, at least you won't have to worry about going crazy" Cheong-san also jokes towards On-jo as Gyeong-su laughs while biting his chicken
"Hey, are you talking trash?" On-jo rolls her eyes as you raise an eyebrow at her approach

Gwi-nam walks you home as he was your neighbour. He mainly complained on how he was so full and how he hated each and every one of those people. Though you ignored him the majority of the time. You enjoyed hanging out with them. It was an escape.
As Gwi-nam waves goodbye you slowly open the door trying not to make a sound but it fails as it creaks. Your Father stood in the hallway glaring at you
"Let's get this over with" You mumble under your breath while you close the door walking over to your enraged Father
I really am making long chapters for small parts😭
I want the character to have a backstory and be built up as the story goes on. Hope you're enjoying it so far<3
