2 weeks later
Aaron and Bobbi were staying in New York and helped Peter get through the day, whether it be while crime-fighting or otherwise.
During that time, Peter had told about his girlfriend MJ and Ned. The three had planned to go to MIT together, and they had the same backup universities to go to in Boston.
So far, all the backups rejected their applications, and they had just received the admission letter from MIT. They had agreed to meet at the coffee shop where MJ works.
Peter entered the shop and showed MJ and Ned his letter, and they did the same as the three sat on a table and prepared to open them.
MJ: Okay...Ready?
???: Jones?
They turn to see MJ's boss.
Boss: I told you to take down the Halloween decorations.
MJ: Actually, that was Sasha, so...
Boss: Enough attitude, just do it.
MJ: On it.
The boss leaves.
Ned: I feel like I'm gonna puke.
MJ: Well, don't, because he will just make me clean it.
Ned: This is our only shot, it's here or nowhere.
Peter: Hey, come on!
MJ: Okay, you guys ready?
Peter: Yeah.
Ned: Yeah.
MJ: Okay, on 3. 1...2...3.
They open their letters at the same time and read them, and their expressions faltered. They looked at each other and knew what that meant.
MJ: No.
Peter: No. (turns to Ned) You?
Ned: "In light of recent controversy, we are unable to consider your application at this time."
Peter: This is so unfair. I mean, this is so not fair, I didn't do anything wrong. You guys definitely didn't do anything wrong!
MJ: Expect disappointment, and you will never get disappointed.
Just then, the door bell chimed and...
Flash: NO SLEEP TILL...BA BA, BA. BAAA! BOSTON!
Flash, with an MIT hoodie, looked at the trio and saw the somber looks on their faces.
Flash: You guys didn't get in?
Ned: Yeah, because we're actually friends with Spider-Man.
Flash looked down, having read the room, and looked at his watch.
Flash: Uh, yeah. I better get going, there's a...they have a mixer for new admissions, and...sorry, guys.
He then left the shop.
Boss: (to MJ) Jones, what are you doing? Get back to work.
MJ: Yeah, coming. (turns to Peter and Ned) You know what?
She tears her letter in half.
MJ: I wouldn't change a thing I did.
She leaves.
Ned: Me neither.
He tears his letter into several pieces.
Ned: Although, I do need to show this letter to my parents.
He picks up the pieces and pats Peter's shoulder before leaving the shop as Peter still remained seated.
Just then, Peter's phone rang. He took it out of his pocket and saw a text from Aaron.
Aaron
Anything from MIT?
Peter sighed before responding.
Peter
I didn't get in.
Neither did Ned or MJ.
"In light of recent controversy" they said.
Aaron
I'm sorry.
You don't deserve this, and neither do Ned or MJ.
Don't let it keep you down for long.
You, Ned, and MJ are still some of the brightest people I know
If anything, MIT are idiots for not letting you three in.
Peter chuckled as he read the texts. He really appreciated Aaron's attempt to cheer him up.
Aaron
If you wanna talk, just let me know, okay?
Peter
Okay. Thanks.
Aaron
Np
Peter put his phone down and looked around and saw a certain Halloween decoration.
It was one of a wizard, and that's when Peter had an idea.
Short timeskip
Aaron had told Bobbi about Peter, Ned, and MJ not getting into MIT just because Peter was Spider-Man and that Ned and MJ are affiliated with him. He had called Gwen and told her the same thing.
Safe to say, both Bobbi and Gwen were pissed.
Bobbi was just watching TV, switching channels when she stopped at a certain one.
Bobbi: Hey, Aaron. You might wanna see this.
Aaron went to the TV and widened his eyes when he saw what has happening.
Peter was on the Washington Bridge in his Iron Spider suit fighting a man with 4 mechanical limbs.
Aaron quickly put the emblem on his chest and looked at Bobbi.
Bobbi: Go.
Aaron nods before double-tapped the emblem as his Flash suit and sped off to the bridge.
When he got there, he saw Peter in a wrinkled formal suit and a torn tie next to the man with the mechanical limbs. One of the limbs were wrapped around the man, and he looked like he can't control them.
Octopus Man: (to Aaron) Who are you? (gestures to Peter) His partner?
Aaron: No. (turns to Peter) You okay, Peter?
Peter: Yeah. (turns to the man) Now, who are you? What is-
???: Barry?
They turn to see a man in a dark green suit with a hood over his head and a mask over his eyes. The man had a bow and arrow.
Aaron: Who are you? And why'd you call me Barry?
Archer: (confused) You're not-
He stopped himself as he noticed Peter looking at a bundle of smoke.
Suddenly, an explosion happened, prompting Peter to activate his Iron Spider suit, which had a massive hole in its chest.
The archer drew an arrow and pointed it at the direction of the smoke.
From the smoke emerged a green figure on a glider cackling. Then, a man in a yellow suit similar to Aaron's and glowing red eyes showed up in a streak of red lightning.
Octopus Man: Osborn?
Aaron: Phillips?
Archer: Thawne?
Peter looked at the octopus man in confusion while Aaron and the archer looked at each other.
The green figures flew at them while the man in yellow sped at them.
Suddenly, Peter, Aaron, the archer, and the octopus man were transported to a dark room. Peter deactivated his suit while Aaron retracted his helmet and saw no sign of the man in yellow, the archer, or the octopus man.
Peter: Doctor-
He was interrupted when a humanoid reptile lunged at him and Aaron, only to be stopped by a magical barrier.
Peter backed up until the octopus man tried to so the same, but ended up with the same outcome, causing him and Aaron to jump.
Suddenly, someone grabbed Peter's shoulder, causing him to scream as he and Aaron turn to see Strange.
Strange: (to Peter) Be careful what you wish for, Parker.
Octopus Man: Let me out of here!
Aaron: Hey, where's that archer guy?
???: I'm over here, Flash.
They turn to see the archer in a cell with the same barrier as the other two.
Peter: (to Strange) Can you please explain to me what is going on?
Strange: That little spell that you botched where you wanted everyone to forget that Peter Parker is Spider-Man started pulling in everyone who knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man from every universe into this one.
Aaron: I'm sorry, did you just say every universe?
Octopus Man: Who are you? Where am I?
Archer: Who? I'm sorry, I don't know any Peter Parker or Spider-Man in my universe.
Aaron: Wait, if that's the case, (turns to Strange and points at the archer) How did he end up here?
Strange: I don't know, but either way, I think it's better that we don't engage with them, because frankly, the multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little.
Peter: The multiverse is real?
Strange: This shouldn't even be possible.
Aaron: But you stopped the spell, right?
Strange: No, I contained it, but it would appear that a few of them squeaked through. After Parker left, I detected an otherworldly presence, I pursued it into the sewers, where I found that (gestures to the reptile) ...slimy green son of a gun.
Octopus Man: Spell? As in magic? What is this, a birthday party? Who is this clown? What is this madness?
Archer: If you think this is madness, then you'll be overwhelmed when you see the things I've seen.
Strange: (to Peter and Aaron) Watch this. (turns to the octopus man) Do you know a Peter Parker who is Spider-Man?
Octopus Man: Yes.
Strange: (points to Peter) Is that him?
Octopus Man: No.
Strange: (to the archer) Do you an Aaron O'Connor who is The Flash?
Archer: I know The Flash, but not Aaron O'Connor.
Strange: (to Peter and Aaron) See? Okay, here's what we gotta do, I don't know how many of these visitors we've got-
Peter: We saw two more, on the bridge. One was like a flying green elf, the other had a yellow suit and red eyes.
Archer: The man in yellow is Eobard Thawne, The Reverse Flash. Complete psychopath.
Strange: Well, they sound jolly, why don't you start with him? I need you two to capture them, bring them here, while I figure out how to get them back before they destroy the fabric of reality, or worse, Wong finds out.
Archer: I can help. This isn't the first time I've dealt with multiversal trouble.
Strange: Whatever.
Peter: Uh, Doctor Strange?
Strange: What?
Peter: My friends and I just got a second chance to get into MIT, and if the school sees me fighting these crazy monsters-
Octopus Man: Hey, watch your mouth!
Peter: I'm sorry.
Strange: You're seriously still talking about college?
He pulls a piece of Peter's Iron Spider suit towards himself and transformed it into something else.
Peter: Hey, what did you just do?
Strange: This.
He shot a golden string that made Peter disappear and reappear in a cell.
Peter: Hey, you can't just-
He walked straight into the barrier as the octopus man looked at Strange in confusion.
Octopus Man: How did you do that?
Strange: Lots of birthday parties.
He disables the barrier on Peter's cell before duplicating it and tossing the devices into his and Aaron's arms.
He sighed before disabling the barrier on the archer's cell and tossing another duplicate of the device into his arm.
Strange: One shot, send them here, move on, your welcome. Get to work.
Peter: Sir?
Strange: (sighs) Now what?
Peter: I know this is my mess, and I swear to you that I'll fix it, but I'm gonna need some help.
Strange: More help than The Flash?
Aaron: He's right. If this is as bad as you say it is, then we'll need all the help we can get.
Strange: (sighs) Fine. I'll be upstairs when you're ready.
He leaves the crypt.
Aaron: (to the archer) You still haven't told me your name.
The archer glared at Aaron.
Aaron: Look, I get the whole secret identity thing, but you can trust us, and the ones we'll call for help, you can trust them, too.
The archer sighed before taking off his hood and mask.
Played by: Stephen Amell
Oliver: The name's Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow.
Aaron shakes Oliver's hand.
Aaron: Aaron O'Connor. (gestures to Peter) Peter Parker.
Peter: Hi.
