Lyra's POV

"What the heck was that?" I yelled as I shivered,

"Had to break you out of that... Thing!" Pakku stated.

"Training starts now" he stated as I nodded.

"Move the water" he instructed, "feel the push and pull" he stated as he left to get breakfast with a wave.

I focused on lifting a large ball of water, but each time I lifted the massive ball it broke like a water balloon.

"Argh! This is impossible!" I growled and dropped the water in frustration.

"It's easy" Aang stated as he lifted the water only to have the smaller blob of water break with a

'Pop!'

"" It's easy" he says!" I mocked Aang.

Finally I lifted the water, imagining that the water was floating.

I didn't even realize that my hand weren't moving as I closed my eyes, focusing on circulating the water creating a weightless blob of liquid.

"Whoaaaa!" came Aang's voice.

I released my focus as the balloon broke with a similar, 'pop!'

"But it was floating, you weren't even using your hands!" Aang said in shock.

I raised an eyebrow, about to retort something in return when Master Pakku's voice startled me,

"Have either of you been practicing while I've been gone?" came his voice startling me.

"No, Master Pakku! She was waterbending without using her hands!" Aang explained quickly.

Master Pakku scoffed,

"Impossible! No one can do that!" he exclaimed.

I shook my head, surely he was right. That's impossible.

"Now, I recommend you both keep training" he urged us.

I nodded, returning to lifting up the water as I used my hands to urge the water up, only causing it to break.

Aang continued moving it, struggling to hold the water up, but doing better than he was previously,

"You're moving the water around, but you're not feeling the push or pull" Pakku explained as Aang struggled to grasp it,

"I'm trying!" Aang stated as he attempted to hold the water.

"And you, Lyra. Your waterbending is always active, why not try instead of using your hands you focus on what you want to manipulate in your mind?" he offered, but not before bouncing his attention back to Aang,

"Aah! Maybe that move is too advanced for you, why don't you try an easier one" he stated to antagonize Aang.

Aang fell for it and threw the water to the ground in frustration, as my own bending popped once again making me grumble profanities.

This continued, as Master Pakku continued to antagonize the two of us. It only forced my focus to snap quicker and quicker with each jab until finally we went home and had dinner.

I walked in feeling more tired then ever before, all of us quickly eating without a word as we walked to the sleeping quarters. My waterbending seemed to have exhausted itself so I was walking into everything.

"Ow! Who moved the stupid cold wall!" I yelled in frustration before I kicked the foot of my sleeping bag only to fall onto Katara.

"LYRA!" she yelled in frustration and pain as I immediately got off her,

"Sorry! I can't fucking see, any fucking thing!" I shouted before I fell next to my sleeping bag and rolled onto it,

"Finally" I groaned tiredly.

"Why can't you "Fucking see, any fucking thing"?" she repeated my words back to me,

"Because Master Poop Head made me work my bending to the point of exhaustion!" I stated waving my arms around.

"How's warrior training going?" Katara asked Sokka for a change of subject as he kicked his bag in frustration,

"that bad?" Aang asked in surprise,

Sokka growled,

"No, it's Princess Yue!" Sokka growled, "I don't get it. One minute, she wants to go out with me, and the next she's telling me to get lost!" Sokka ended,

"So how's waterbending training?" Sokka asked,

Katara flopped on her sleeping bag, irritated at the subject,

"Master Poop-Head won't teach her, because she's a girl"  Aang exclaimed.

"But he's teaching you, Lyra?" he asked me.

I nodded in my tucked arms,

"Yes, but only because of the ocean spirit thing, he said he wouldn't have taught me otherwise, people are so irritating!" I stated in frustration,

"And, don't forget the incident!" Aang added causing Sokka to perk up in curiosity,

"Accident?" Sokka questioned worriedly,

I shrugged,

"Yeah, Pakku got me mad, and I felt my energy dip into strength and everything felt warm with power" I explained vaguely,

"Not to mention the sharp ice needles floating around you" Katara added as well,

"And the crack in the ice below the training ground" Aang added another detail, only adding to Sokka's growing concern,

"What? When did this happen?" he questioned in exasperation.

"This morning" I stated simply.

"And no one thought to let me in on it?" Sokka questioned,

I shrugged,

"I told them not to bother you, listen it's not a big deal."

"NOT A BIG DEAL?!" Sokka yelled and threw out his arms,

"What if you were hurt?!"

"But I wasn't" I stated coolly.

"That's not the point! The point is you could've been! Is that why you can't 'see' like normal?" Sokka said saying 'see' in air quotes,

"Yeah, probably" I nodded casually.

"how are you so casual about this?" he questioned in shock, I just shrugged in response,

"I'm assuming it has to do with the fact that I'm not very far away from the physical form of the ocean spirit" I finally stated as he calmed slightly,

"That does make sense, just please be careful" he requested to which I agreed with a casual shrug,

"Sure, careful is my middle name!' I agreed readily,

"Your middle name is Kanna, after Gran Gran" Sokka stated humorously.

"Whatever" I groaned at his dumb response.

Sokka dropped his head as we all laid in silence for a minute,

"Hey, if Mister Poop-Head won't teach Katara, why don't you Aang?" Sokka offered an idea,

I didn't know what to say except,

"I don't think-" I went to disagree with the bad idea when Aang perked up,

"Why didn't I think of that? At night, you two can teach me whatever moves you learned from Master Pakku! That way you have someone to practice with, and I get to learn waterbending! Everyone's happy!" Katara grinned,

"I'm not happy" Sokka stated in response,

"Me either" I agreed with Sokka,

"you two are never happy" she stated humorously as she walked out with Aang.

"Y'know she's got a point" I agreed with Katara after their voices had faded.

"Shut up" Sokka waved his hand, "she was talking to you too" he added, to which I shrugged,

"I know, and?"

"Your stupid" Sokka grumbled and turned to his side.

"Thanks so much for noticing!" I smiled,

"Shut up"
