Narrator:
The clone Starfleet is under siege. Dozens of Republic warships have been destroyed in merciless surprise attacks that leave no survivors. Rumors spread of a terrible new Separatist weapon. In the face of growing fear, the Jedi Council sends Master Plo Koon to hunt down the menace before it strikes again.
We then see Plo Koon's ship entering the Abregado system system, and they were approaching a CIS Dreadnought
Wolffe:
The enemy ship has reduced its speed, General.
Plo Koon:
They must have realized we are tracking them.
Droid:
We're tracking three Republic cruisers.
What should we do?
Count Dooku:
Jam their transmissions.
The three cruisers held position.
Wolffe:
The fleet is holding its position, sir.
Plo Koon:
I think it wise to report our position before we attack.
Wolffe:
The Skywalker brother's fleet is nearby, in the Bith system.
Plo Koon:
Good. Perhaps they can reinforce us.
Wolffe:
From what I hear, Young Skywalker's always ready for a fight.
Plo Koon:
So I've heard.
He activated a hologram with two figures appearing. Anakin and his apprentice Ahsoka Tano.
Ahsoka:
Koh-to-ya, Master Plo.
She said in a cheerful tone.
Plo Koon:
Koh-to-ya, little 'Soka.
He responded in kind to her.
Anakin:
How's the hunt for the mystery weapon going?
Plo Koon:
We've tracked it to the Abregado system. We need reinforcements.
Anakin:
I'll have to ask the Council, Master Plo. I was given strict orders to protect our staging area.
Just then the communications went out.
Ahsoka:
Master Plo? What's...
She asked as the communications went out.
Plo Koon:
What is wrong with the transmission?
Wolffe:
There is too much interference, sir. We've lost them.
Aboard Revan's flagship. We see several of the 3rd Legion in their colors Anakin, and Ahsoka were seen on the bridge.
Ahsoka:
You heard Master Plo. He needs our support. We have to go help him.
Anakin:
We have to see what the Council decides first. This is an important meeting, Ahsoka. Remember, be mindful. And speak only when spoken to.
Ahsoka:
Don't I always?
She asked sarcastically.
The doors open to Revan who was addressing the Council, and next to him was his apprentice, and next to her was Commander Axe.
Revan:
This mystery weapon has struck in a dozen systems and disappeared without a trace.
Mace Windu:
I agree.
Palpatine:
We cannot afford to lose any more ships, my friends. Ah, Master Skywalker. Have you had any success in finding General Grievous' secret weapon?
Revan steps aside as Anakin types in the hologram projector.
Anakin:
Master Plo was here in the Abregado system when we lost contact.
Cut back to Plo Koon's fleet. The Dreadnought was advancing on his fleet.
Clone:
The enemy ship is closing!
Plo Koon:
Prepare for battle!
Count Dooku:
General Grievous, this will be a suitable test for our new weapon. You may fire when ready.
Grievous:
Yes, my lord.
On the side of the Dreadnought a large circular weapon was seen powering up. It looked to be a giant Ion Cannon.
On the bridge of Plo Koon's ship several men gathered around the hologram projector.
Wolffe:
We're picking up a large energy reading
from the target, sir.
Plo Koon:
Open fire!
Wolffe:
We're not in range yet, sir.
General Grievous:
Fire!
The Ion Cannon fired.
A large circle of energy shot out of the side heading towards the ships.
Plo Koon:
Brace for impact!
The energy blast hit all three of the ships.
Wolffe:
We're losing all our power! That energy field has left us defenseless!
Droid:
Their shields are down.
General Grievous:
All cannons fire!
The cannons fired upon the ships, ripping them to shreds.
Wolffe:
They're tearing us apart one by one!
Plo Koon:
Quickly! Into the pods! We don't have much time! Get inside! Hurry!
General Grievous:
Another successful test, wouldn't you say, Count?
Count Dooku:
We must keep our position secret. Send out the hunters. I want all of those lifepods destroyed.
Anakin:
We've had no further contact with General Plo Koon. The absence of distress beacons indicates that his fleet was... (he looks at Ahsoka who looked disheartened)That his fleet was destroyed like the others. We are about to prepare a rescue mission.
Palpatine:
Hasn't Clone Intelligence reported this weapon never leaves any survivors?
Revan:
The Separatists are being unusually tidy. They don't want any witnesses.
Obi-Wan:
Revan is right.
Yoda:
Tragic are these losses, but prevent more we must.
Wolffe:
The power grid is burned out. We've no engine, communications, or... Or life support recharge.
Sinker:
So, we'll just sit here and hold our breath.
Boost:
Someone'll come looking for us, right?
They all looked to Plo Koon who was calm.
Plo Koon:
Let's get the power restored so we are here to be found.
Back on The Hyperion the meeting was still commencing.
Mace Windu:
All our battle groups will be reassigned to guard our supply convoys, including yours, Revan. I'm afraid we can't risk any more ships with a rescue mission.
Just then Ahsoka blurted out.
Ahsoka:
Wait! Just because there haven't been any survivors before doesn't mean there won't be any this time.
There was silence among the meeting.
Palpatine:
Boldly spoken for one so young.
Obi-Wan:
She is learning from Anakin.
Anakin:
Excuse my Padawan. We will deploy as you have instructed, Master.
Revan cut the communications, and counted down from three.
Anakin:
Ahsoka!
He shouts.
Ahsoka:
If anyone could survive, Master Plo could! I don't understand why...
Anakin:
What you don't understand is Jedi protocol. Or your place, my young Padawan.
Revan:
Ha! That's rich coming from you.
Anakin:
What's that supposed to mean?
Ashla:
Here we go.
She said sarcastically.
Revan:
I seem to remember you acting the same way when we're assigned to protect Padmé.
Anakin:
That's-- that's totally different.
Revan:
Please elaborate.
Just then the Admiral entered the room.
Revan:
Admiral, we'll split up our ships to maximize our defense area. Anakin will scout ahead for enemy activity.
Admiral:
Isn't that risky with the mystery weapon out there?
Revan:
It might be, but I have faith that my brother can handle it.
Anakin:
Thank you General. Come on, Snips.
He said walking away.
Revan is then seen walking in the opposite direction, Axe, and Ashla followed him.
Ashla:
You're sending Anakin to search for survivors?
Revan:
Yes, if there's a slightest chance that there are survivors, they can tell us what we're up against. And if I know Plo Koon, he's alive, and waiting to be rescued.
Cut to Plo Koon's shuttle.
Wolffe:
The air in here is getting a bit stale.
Sinker:
Don't look at me. It's Boost, sir.
He only takes a bath when he's on leave.
Boost:
Save it. Just keep working on the pod,
not your jokes.
Wolffe:
Do you think we've got a chance, General?
Plo Koon:
I don't believe in chance, Commander. I know if we work together, we will stay alive, and someone will find us.
Sinker:
With all due respect, General, strategically, it doesn't make any sense for someone to come look for us. If I was in command, I'd be hunting that weapon down.
Plo Koon:
I value your life more than finding that weapon, as does Master Revan. If I know him, he'll have a search party looking for us.
Boost:
Sir! There's another pod out there!
They all looked to see a pod.
Wolffe:
If we only had power, we could contact them.
Boost:
Well, how about we just wave hello when the viewport comes around?
Plo Koon waves his hand to move the pod around to see that it had been cracked open.
Sinker:
They're dead!
Wolffe:
Someone busted that pod wide open.
Plo Koon:
We are not alone out here.
He said with worry.
We then see Anakin's ship exiting the Hyperion.
Anakin:
Set those new coordinates, Artoo?
Ahsoka:
Master, I should tell you why I spoke up before.
Anakin:
You don't have to explain anything.
On Obi-Wan's ship. Commander Cody was talking to Obi-Wan.
Commander Cody:
Our ships are in defensive formation, sir.
Obi-Wan:
All right, Commander. I'll check on Anakin's progress.
He called the Hyperion.
Obi-Wan:
Admiral, how goes escort?
Admiral:
Convoys are proceeding on schedule, General. No sign of enemy activity.
Obi-Wan:
And where are Revan, and Skywalker?
Admiral:
The General felt a redeployment of this fleet would increase our defensive perimeter, then he went to his chambers.
Obi-Wan:
I see. Thank you, Admiral. That will be all.
Commander Cody:
Problem, sir?
Obi-Wan:
I don't know yet, but I'm about to find out.
In Revan's chambers it was a large room with a platform for his meditation.
Just then he received a communication.
Revan:
I was wondering how long it will take you to contact me, Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan:
You know I don't like it when you do that.
Revan:
Then stop making it easy. What seems to be the problem.
He said in a calm tone.
Obi-Wan:
Why would you let your brother go off and do something so reckless?
Revan:
Why do you assume I "let him"?
Obi-Wan then caught on.
Obi-Wan:
You sent him out there.
Revan smiled at him.
Revan:
Correct.
Obi-Wan:
And when the Council specifically said---
Revan:
As I recall, I'm on the Council too Obi-Wan, and I don't recall agreeing with you. Lives are in danger, and I want to know what we're up against, and Master Plo Koon can provide the information we seek.
Obi-Wan:
But you don't know if he's even alive.... unless you sensed something, haven't you?
Revan:
I've told you before, Obi-Wan, my connection to the Force is stronger than you realize. I know he's alive, I would have felt it otherwise. Besides I can afford to spare Anakin for a few hours. Give him that will you?
Obi-Wan ponders and nodded at him. They never really saw eye to eye, but Revan hasn't let them down yet, and he's quite capable of handling a fleet on his own, so OBI didn't see harm in humoring him for now.
He ended the conversation. Obi-Wan was left stunned by this, but he relents.
Obi-Wan:
Well it seems that Revan has redeployed Anakin this time.
On board the Twilight, Ahsoka was monitoring the scanners.
Ahsoka:
Artoo, set up the scanner. Modulate for incoming mystery weapons.
Anakin:
No. Artoo, tune the scanners for life forms. Highest sensitivity.
Ahsoka:
Why would we scan for life forms to spot an enemy weapon probably just filled with battle droids?
She then saw where they were.
Ahsoka:
The Abregado system? Oh, so it's okay when you don't follow what the Council says.
Anakin:
Doing what the Jedi Council says,
that's one thing. How we go about doing it, that's another. That's what I'm trying to teach you, my young Padawan. Besides we were given permission to come here.
Ahsoka:
By who, all the Council members said--- Revan. Revan gave you permission.
Anakin:
Yep, he's interested in finding survivors, and what we're up against.
Ahsoka:
So you always meant
to come out here for survivors?
Anakin:
Lives are in danger, Ahsoka. We can't just turn our backs on them.
Ahsoka:
That's what I said back in the briefing room!
Anakin:
I know. But the way you said it was wrong. Hurry up. Switch on the illuminator.
She had a smile on her face.
Ahsoka:
We haven't got much time before the fleet misses us.
Anakin:
Oh I think they'll be fine without us. They've got Revan, and Ashla.
On the escape pod Sinker, and Boost were repairing the panel.
Sinker:
No, that's not it. This one goes there, that one goes there.
Boost:
Are you sure? We don't want to make things worse.
Sinker just glared at him.
Sinker:
How are we gonna make things worse?
Plo Koon:
When you ask for trouble, you should not be surprised when it finds you.
Sinker:
I think trouble already found us, sir.
Boost:
What if we connect these two wires right here?
He then connects the two wires, and the power cam back on.
Wolffe:
I'm getting something.
Clone:
This is pod 1977! We are under attack! Is anyone out there?
Wolffe:
It's one of our other pods!
He exclaimed.
Clone:
I repeat, we are under attack! Is anyone out there?
Plo Koon:
That signal is weak. They must be close by.
The droids were then seen piloting a device that had four arms that was designed to clamp onto a pod.
Clone:
They've locked on to our ship! They've locked on to our ship!
Droid:
Go get them, boys!
Four droid exited from the device and approached the pod.
Clone:
Our position is mark 12 at 0.26.
Droid:
Let's cut this can open.
Wolffe:
I have visual contact.
The droids were seen cutting it open.
Plo Koon:
Pod 1-9-7-7, do you copy?
Clone:
The droids are hunting for survivors. They're cutting through!
The droids broke open the pod, and the clones flew out screaming before their unfortunate deaths.
Droid:
There they go!
Sinker:
Things just got a lot worse.
Ahsoka:
The scanners are practically useless. Got anything on the emergency channel, Artoo?
Anakin:
Now, Ahsoka, we might find something
you don't want to find.
Ahsoka:
I know, Master, but I have to believe.
She had sad eyes, but was determined to find Master Plo Koon.
Anakin:
How do you know Master Plo, anyway?
Ahsoka had a flashback of meeting Master Plo Koon.
Ahsoka:
It was Master Plo Koon who found me and brought me to the temple where I belonged. He's one of my oldest friends. Now he's lost, so I thought maybe I could find him.
Just then they received a transmission.
Ahsoka:
Incoming transmission, Master.
I think someone noticed we're gone.
Obi-Wan:
Anakin, have you made any progress?
Both of them were shocked to hear this.
Anakin:
Oh, hello, Master. How did---
Obi-Wan:
Revan told me that you two were leading a rescue mission under his orders. Apparently he's confident that you two will find survivors, and Master Plo Koon. So have you any luck?
Anakin sighs.
Anakin:
No. You were right. The Separatists don't want any witnesses.
Obi-Wan slightly ponders.
Obi-Wan:
Well, Revan seems to think otherwise. Give it another hour then you need to rejoin the defensive escorts. We need you, Anakin. After that you'll miss the rendezvous with the fleet.
Anakin:
I know, Master. We'll make this quick.
Ahsoka was happy to hear that they have another hour, but now time was of the essence. Just then Artoo started to chirp excitedly.
Anakin:
What is it, Artoo?
He beeps, and chirps.
Ahsoka:
Artooie thinks he's got something
on the emergency channel.
Anakin:
Can he trace it?
Artoo beeps again.
Ahsoka:
Let's get going.
Boost:
I think they see us.
Droid:
Corporal, there's another pod over there.
The droids detach from the pod and make their way to the next pod. The droid began to hum "The Imperial March".
Plo Koon:
It is time to go.
Wolffe:
Go? Where are you going, sir?
Plo Koon:
Outside, to destroy the enemy. I can withstand the pressure for a brief time. Put your helmets on.
Sinker:
If you say so, sir.
He said as both him and Boost got up.
Plo Koon:
This is a difficult situation, but there remains a possibility we will survive.
Boost:
That's good enough for me. Come on, let's go.
The device attached onto the pod.
Plo Koon:
Wolffe, keep
the communications signal alive. It is our only chance someone will find us.
Wolffe:
Let's just hope someone's looking for us.
Artoo beeps as he projected a hologram of the signal.
Anakin:
Are we still picking up that signal?
Ahsoka:
Yes. But why aren't we finding anybody?
Anakin:
I don't know, Ahsoka. I don't know.
Droid:
Well, this looks like the last one. Let's finish the job. Hey, what's a Jedi doing out here?
They all looked up to see Plo Koon, Sinker, and Boost standing on top of the pod. He ignited his lightsaber with a menacing look, and charges at the droids. Boost, and Sinker both fired at the droids.
Droid:
Take cover!
Ahsoka was on comms trying to contact any survivors.
Ahsoka:
Is anyone out there? This is Ahsoka Tano. Can anyone hear me?
Back with the fight the last three droids took cover behind the pod hunter.
Boost:
I can't get a clear shot!
Droid:
Time to put the squeeze on them.
The droid activated the arms to crush the pod, as this was happening Wolffe then got a signal.
Ahsoka:
Is there anyone out there? Come in! This is Ahsoka Tano. Is there anyone out there? Come in.
Wolffe:
It's Ahsoka! She must be close!
Plo Koon:
Keep the signal alive, Commander.
Ahsoka:
Artoo, see if you can boost the reception.
Artoo chirps at her.
Anakin:
Patience. We're trying to boost the power. Hang on.
Wolffe:
We're losing the signal! The pod can't take much more damage!
Plo Koon:
Sinker! Your turn!
Sinker:
I'm on it, boss!
Plo Koon used the Force to move Sinker behind the Droids.
Droid:
What the...
Sinker:
Eat laser, clankers!
Sinker shoot two out of three, and Plo Koon cuts the arms off, and pushed it away from the pod. He then pulled Sinker back.
Droid:
Uh-oh!
On board Grievous' ship. One of the droids was gazing one of the monitors.
Droid:
Sir, we have lost contact with the pod hunter.
General Grievous:
Perhaps some survivors are putting up a fight.
Count Dooku:
That is something we cannot allow.
Back on Courscant in the Chancellor's office Yoda, Mace Windu, and Obi-Wan were having a meeting with Chancellor Palpatine.
Mace Windu:
We must find a way to destroy this mystery weapon.
Yoda:
In this war, a step ahead of us
Dooku always seems.
Palpatine:
Tell me, has there been any word from Master Plo Koon or his fleet?
Mace Windu:
No. We must fear the worst.
Obi-Wan:
Actually, I just received word that Anakin has found the remains of Master Plo's fleet and is searching the debris for survivors.
Palpatine:
On whose authority has he done this?
Obi-Wan:
On Revan's. Revan seems to believe that Master Plo Koon is indeed alive.
Mace Windu:
With Revan's fleet out of position, we are left vulnerable.
Obi-Wan:
Oh, his fleet is right where it should be. He's ordered Anakin to take only a small ship and his Padawan.
Yoda ponders for a moment as the others stared at him for he was Revan's Master.
Yoda:
Hmm, not like Revan to make a mistake. Perhaps trust his judgment we should.
Palpatine:
Let us hope his judgment doesn't cost us greatly.
Sinker:
Well, General, this is another fine mess we've gotten into.
Plo Koon:
Your sense of humor is improving.
Sinker:
I don't mean to say I told you so, but I never believed anyone would come looking for us.
Cut to Revan who was meditating in his chambers. He could see Master Plo Koon, but he couldn't see where, he knew he was alive, and Anakin was close. Then cut to Anakin's ship where Palpatine was on the hologram.
Palpatine:
Anakin, the Council is furious. Why have you left your post?
Anakin:
Revan and I decided we couldn't just give up on Master Plo Koon. He believes Master Plo Koon is alive.
Palpatine:
A noble gesture, Anakin, but the Council feels your daring may put others in danger. And can we really take Revan's word on the matter? He hasn't been a Jedi Master long.
Anakin was silent.
Palpatine:
Please listen to me, Anakin. Return at once. Yes, Excellency.
The view cuts between Revan, Ahsoka, and Plo Koon. She could feel that Plo Koon was alive. Her eyes shot open wide.
Anakin:
Time to go, Ahsoka.
Ahsoka:
We have to stay.
Anakin:
Ahsoka, I want to believe Master Plo's alive, but I just...
Ahsoka:
I know he's alive! I can sense it!
She cuts the wheel turning the ship sharply around.
Anakin:
Ahsoka!
He shouts as the ship turned, and Artoo flew across the cockpit screaming.
Plo Koon:
Sergeant, why are you so certain
no one is coming?
Sinker:
We're just clones, sir. We're meant to be expendable.
Plo Koon:
Not to me.
Just then a bright light shined on them.
Ahsoka:
There they are!
Anakin:
Ready tow cable.
She rushed to the control panel.
Ahsoka:
Cable loaded, Master.
He launched the cable, and pulled the pod in.
Ahsoka:
Come on, hurry! (They rushed to help them)Are you okay, Master Plo? There's someone in the pod!
Anakin used the Force to open the pod, and Wolffe stumbled out of the pod. The medical droid then came into the cargo hold to aid them.
Anakin:
Will they be all right?
Medical droid:
The pressure suits offer some protection, but they require a medical frigate for recovery. I will stabilize them, sir.
Ahsoka:
Your men are safe now.
Plo Koon looks to Anakin.
Plo Koon:
Tell me, were there any survivors?
Anakin:
We couldn't find anybody else.
They couldn't see it, but they knew Plo Koon felt sorrow.
Plo Koon:
The hunters must have destroyed the rest.
Ahsoka:
I'm sorry, Master Plo.
She hugs him, and he hugs her back. Later they entered the cockpit of the ship.
Plo Koon:
We tracked the mystery weapon
to this system. That is when we found out it was an ion cannon.
Ahsoka:
An ion cannon?
Plo Koon:
A weapon that neutralizes all power to
our ships, leaving the targets defenseless.
An alarm went off on the radar.
Anakin:
There's a massive vessel approaching.
Plo Koon desperately began to shut down the power.
Plo Koon:
Shut down the power systems before they detect us!
Artoo then beeps.
Plo Koon:
The droid!
Ahsoka:
Sorry, little guy.
She then shuts off Artoo. Just as the Dreadnought passes over them.
Ahsoka:
That is one big Cruiser-Crusher!
Droid:
There's still no signal from the pod hunter.
General Grievous:
Reduce speed and activate your scanners. We will find who is responsible.
The ship slowly passes over them. Cut to the cargo hold of Anakin's ship.
Boost:
Hey, what's with the lights?
Wolffe:
The power has gone out. Maybe that ship has returned. We should get up to the bridge.
He attempted to move but fell, the Medical droid then caught him.
Medical droid:
You are too weak. Let me go see what is wrong.
Cut to the Dreadnought one of the droids picked up a signal.
Droid:
We're picking up a faint signal from a droid. Not one of ours. They're right behind us.
General Grievous:
Move us into attack position!
Anakin:
They're coming back!
He said in a sing-song voice.
Plo Koon:
Are all the systems shut down?
Medical droid:
Is there a problem, sir?
Ahsoka:
We forgot to shut off the medical droid!
Simultaneously all three of them flipped switches, pressed buttons, and turned nobs to get the power back on quickly.
Anakin:
We've got to get the power back on now!
The droid who apparently had the worst timing ever, spoke to the three of them.
Medical droid:
Can I be of assistance?
Anakin:
No, thanks. Just get in the back and take care of the clones.
Medical droid:
That is my programing, sir.
Anakin:
Come on, we've got to get out of here.
Ahsoka:
I know! I know!
The engines came back to life as Anakin guns the engine, and makes a break for it.
On the Dreadnought the droid spoke to General Grievous.
Droid:
Sir, the enemy is attempting to flee through the debris field.
Count Dooku:
General, I don't want any witnesses.
General Grievous:
Energize plasma rotors!
Anakin:
Artoo! Program the navicomputer.
Be ready to get us out of here!
Ahsoka:
You forgot. We turned him off.
Master Plo then activated R2, who was not happy.
Plo Koon:
Koh-to-ya, Droid.
Droid:
Target range almost locked, sir.
General Grievous:
They're not going to make it.
Ahsoka:
Artoo! Program the hyperdrive!
Artoo beeps in question.
Ahsoka:
Anywhere! Hurry!
Droid:
Enemy ship targeted, General.
General Grievous:
Fire!
The ship fired the Ion Cannon.
The circle of energy chased them through the debris field. Anakin was pulling stunts, and maneuvers to get through the debris field as the Ion energy chased them. The alarm on the radar went off violently.
Ahsoka:
Master?
She questioned. Just then they exited the field.
Ahsoka:
We're clear!
Anakin then punched it to Hyperspace. General Grievous shouts in anger.
General Grievous:
Now the Republic will learn of our ion cannon.
Count Dooku looks at him disappointingly.
Count Dooku:
Your failure is most unfortunate. I will have to discuss this with my master.
General Grievous just stood there angry as Count Dooku left, he then turns to his Droids.
General Grievous:
Get back to work!
Droid:
Roger, roger.
Droid 2:
Roger, roger.
Back on the Hyperion. Anakin was seen walking down the ramp of his ship which was parked next to the Nautilus.
Wolffe:
Thanks for getting us out of there in one piece, General Skywalker.
He looks to Ahsoka, and Revan who was standing by to welcome them onto his ship.
Anakin:
You have my Brother, and my Padawan to thank for that. They always said
you guys would pull through.
Wolffe:
General Plo said someone would come for us. We're glad he was right.
Plo Koon:
Master Revan, Young Skywalker, it is time to give our report to the Council.
Anakin:
Right, the Council report. Come on, Ahsoka.
Ahsoka:
You want me there? I figured because of before...
Anakin:
Ahsoka, through it all you never gave up. You did a great job.
Revan:
Besides I'm taking the heat for this. And you two did a wonderful job.
Ahsoka:
Thank you, Master Revan.
She said with a smile.
Revan:
Anytime, 'Soka.
They all walked off together.
