Jeno locks his arms around the girl and twirls her around, causing her to shriek.
When she's set down, Zoe smacks him albeit unable to contain the happiness on her face. "That scared me!"
Jeno smiles. "Does this make it better?"
"The present you brought me makes it better", she says, extracting the bag from his hand.
"Happy birthday!" Jaemin exclaims. "Can I hug you?"
"Oh, sure." He envelopes the girl in a big, warm hug, unintentionally battling her nerves. When they part, she finds Haechan holding his arms, wanting to do the same thing. She repeats the process with Chenle, Mark, and Jisung. "I didn't know you guys were huggers."
"We love affection."
"Good to know."
"Hi guys", Archer says. "You're early."
"We didn't have a choice", Jeno answers. "Jaemin, Haechan, and Jisung said that if we didn't go early, they'd come here without us."
"And you didn't want to?" Zoe asks Jeno with a raised eyebrow.
The boy rolls his eyes. "I didn't even get a chance to think about it before they were threatening us. I would not have been late. I want to be here."
"I'll trust you."
"You don't already trust me?"
"If I didn't trust you, I would not be calling you my best friend. Anyways, Archer, who else is coming if they aren't all the guests?"
"Your sister and uh...that one girl and that guy from your work."

The three arrive fairly quickly, only Zoe's sister not seeming uncomfortable by being there.
"Hi", Adriya says, shyly.
"Oh, damn, they're hot", her coworker whose name they still haven't remembered says.
"They're mine", Jeno replies.
Mark and Haechans jaw drops, shocked that Jeno just claimed them and casually too. Jaemin tries to calm the bubbly feeling in his chest and resist the urge to smile.
Adriyas eyes shift from Jeno to Zoe, widening in realization. "Oh my God, I thought you two were dating."
"Please run me into a wall", Zoe mutters.
"Actually, Zoe's mine", Archer says, sliding an arm around her waist.
"We should totally go to, like, a gay nightclub or something."
"I'll pass", Haechan says at the same time Zoe says, "I'm good."
"We have our two designated drivers, awesome."
"That's honestly the only reason I'd go. Well, I mean, like, kinda."
"Haechan wouldn't wanna be there, but he would drink so one of the drivers would be me", Jaemin says. "I don't drink."
"I love drinking, but I respect those who don't. They get so much shit for it, it's weird."
Jisung nods, wrapping a protective arm around Jaemin.
"Hey, can someone help me with the food? Zoe, keep your cute ass right there, I don't mean you."
Zoe turns the shade of a fire hydrant. "Archer!"
"I'm sorry, my love."
"You call her my love? That's so cute", Haechan says.
"That's what he calls me and Jaemin", Jisung tells them.
"Adriya, they're making me feel single!" Unknown Coworker exclaims, pretending to be hurt and "fainting" in the girls arms.
Noticing Zoe's expression, Adriya says, "Yes, Zoe, he's always this dramatic."
