There he was, standing there with his gun pointed at us.
"What do you want" I said with a calmed face, trying to not look scared, but god knows I was scared because he pointing at her...At Elaina
"You know... I was actually telling Elaina, that I was going to kill you Instead of her... but now that you both are here, I'll kill one of you while the other looks" Jason said
"You don't have to do this" I had my hand on the side of my hip ready to pull out my gun, while the other hand was trying to stop him.
"Oh I do... you see, you both kinda ruin my life here, Lionel... your the biggest scary mafia, but once I'm done with you, I'm next... and Elaina, you were just a mistake, so you don't mean anything to me" he chuckled
"So Lionel, if you don't want Elaina dead, you better drop that gun" I sighed and closed my eyes, I didn't want to lose her
I took my gun out, and threw it to the floor. "There" I said "good now I get to see who dies first" he laughed
He pointed the gun towards Elaina, and I immediately stopped him "no!, stop" I said
"Kill me, not her... you want my spot?, take it, I'm right here, kill me"
"Lionel what are you doing" I heard Elaina tell me "trust me, I don't want to lose you" I whispered to her
When I looked back, I saw fear in Jason's eyes, he was scared. This could be my opportunity to get my knife and throw it to him. But I didn't really have the time cause one of my men barged in and saw us both standing in front of him.
I gave him a look to keep quiet "you two lovebirds think you can kill me?" He looked scared like I said "no" I lied
"I want one of you to rage" he said, my guard was getting closer and closer, but it all went down when his keys were making a sound.
"Shit" I whispered to myself. Jason turned around and immediately was going to shoot him. But they both ended up shooting each other, leaving my guard on the floor.
I tried to protect Elaina since Jason Was trying to shoot one of us. Since he was Injured. He shot bullets and I took the opportunity to take my gun and shoot him.
And that's what exactly what I did, I got my gun... and shot 3 times. Shoulder, kidney, and leg.
There he was laying on the floor trying to catch his breath.
I walked up to him and he was just laughing, "the hell you laughing at?" I said kneeling down

He coughed "that... you-" coughed again "don't know... how to- protect someone" he finally let it out
"What the fuck do you mean?" He started smiling and laughing "look behind you... and you'll know what I mean" he finally said slowly dying

I turned around and there she was, laying on the floor, covered in blood
"Oh god, no" I ran up to her
I put my both hand on her stomach, where she got shot. She was bleeding badly.
She looked scared...
"I'm sorry" she said "no, don't say that"
"I should've told you sooner... my dad was always after both of us" she coughed
"don't fucking say that shit, you're not leaving, not today, I need you angel"
"I love you" Elaina said "I won't say that shit, because I know you'll make it, fuck!" I started crying not knowing what to do.
"I'll get help, just stay with me, just please stay with me... please" I said
"Lionel... He's dead, and you're here... that's all that matters" she starts coughing out blood "stop talking that's going to make it worse, please" she breaths in "I'm scared"
"I know angel, it's ok, just stay with me, help is almost here" I breathed breathed out "don't leave me" she coughs again "I won't my love, but you're not fucking leaving me"
She slowly starts closing her eyes "no, don't you dare fucking close you eyes on me, he is not taking you away from me, no"
"Elaina? Fuck, no please no" Elaina slowly stops breathing, "Fuck!"
I layed my head on her stomach, I didn't want to lose her. I needed her, why did it have to be her, and not me

Sadly enough, the most painful goodbyes are the ones that are left unsaid and never explained.
