The twins woke up feeling extremely happy. Hawks promised to teach them how to fly on their sixth birthday and today is their sixth birthday. But during breakfast, as the twins sat in their chairs, they noticed you weren't around.
It was Keita who noticed it first.
"Papa, where's mama?" he asked and his older brother, Keishi, glanced up and realized that you weren't around.
"Mama's still in bed," Hawks said, putting the plates of breakfast in front of the twins. "Go and have your breakfasts."
While Keishi started to eat, Keita watched his dad walk towards the cupboard and took something before taking a mug.
"Papa, is mama not feeling well?" Keita asked as Hawks poured warm water in the teapot along with tea leaves.
"A bit," Hawks answered. "She'll be fine soon."
Hawks looked at the twins and gave Keita a reassuring smile before walking up to the two and sitting in front of a chair.
"But we may have to postpone the flying lesson today."
"It's alright!" Keishi said, gulping down the food in his mouth. "We'll wait until mama gets better so she can watch us fly!"
Keita nodded firmly as he looked at Keishi before looking back at Hawks. "We want mama to see us fly for the first time."
Hawks pat the twin's head before standing up. As they finished their breakfast, they ran along and played in the living room while Hawks headed upstairs and to his room where he saw you sleeping. He didn't want to wake you up but before he could turn around to leave, you stirred from your sleep.
"Sorry, did I wake you up?"
"No," you muttered, standing up as Hawks walked up to the bed and placed the tray on the side. "What about the twins?"
"I told them you aren't feeling well," he said, pouring tea in the mug and handing it to you. "They want you to watch their first flight so they said they'll wait until their mama gets better."
"Honestly, who did those twins take after?" you asked, chuckling a bit. "They're so adorable it's hard to believe they take after you."
You took a sip of the tea which surprisingly isn't that bad considering that you don't like tea that much before lowering the mug down and seeing Hawks' smile.
"What?" you asked.
"Nothing," he said, still smiling. "I'm just happy I guess."
You glanced down, your palm felt warm as you rubbed your thumb on the mug. You wonder if he used to make you this kind of tea before as well. It tasted oddly familiar.
"You know, earlier," you started, still glancing down. "When you said you gave me that feather and told me to hold on to it until you return."
You looked up at Hawks, right into his eyes. "I heard your voice in my head saying the exact same thing."
"Y/n," Hawks started, sitting on the edge of the bed and you felt his hand on the side of your face, brushing the strands of hair behind your ear. "You don't have to force yourself to remember."
You furrowed your brows, you were about to ask what he meant when Hawks leaned closer and you closed your eyes on instinct before you felt his soft lips touch your forehead. It lasted for a while, but it felt longer than a few seconds. And when he leaned back, the kiss still seemed to linger on your forehead until you slowly opened your eyes.
"Get better soon," he said before standing up.
But before Hawks could take a step, you held his wrist and pulled him back down.
They say he was too fast for his own good, but that second Hawks was caught off guard for the first time in a very long while when you leaned in, closing the gap between you two and sealing his lips with yours.
It was the very first time that you initiated a kiss, and the very first time your lips touched his ever since you returned. And it took Hawks by surprise that you'd do something like this all of a sudden. The kiss didn't last long, although Hawks felt it did, as you leaned back.
"I don't think a forehead kiss is enough to kiss it better."
"Is that so?" Hawks asked, recovering from his initial surprise and you looked at him to see the side of his lips turning up slightly. "Then I guess a mere chaste kiss like that might not be enough either."
"What are you t—"
You weren't able to finish when Hawks leaned towards you and took you by surprise this time around when he not only sealed your lips with his, but he nibbled on your lower lip and slid his tongue inside. And while kissing, Hawks took the mug from your hand and put it on the night stand before you felt his hand on your back while you found yourself putting your arms on his shoulders.
He leaned forward, which caused you to lean back until your back touched the pillows behind, your chest pressing on his chest and the kiss started to get rougher, more heated as you felt him pressed on you more.
And when he leaned back, you felt your face extremely hot, you were flustered and stimulated. You bet your cheeks are red, your heart started to hammer in your chest and it didn't help when you saw the side of Hawks' lips turn up in a lopsided smile because he looks so good smirking like that.
"Sorry," he muttered, slowly pulling his hand from your back as you lay on the bed. "I shouldn't go too far since you still have a headache. So we'll be stopping here for now."
You think it's a good idea. It's not because you still have a headache, but your heartbeat might show no sign of calming down if he continues. And you weren't prepared for it, Hawks knew that too.
But there's a part of you that long for that kind of kiss, your body must have remembered it, because it wants more of it.
Hawks leaned down and planted a kiss on your forehead again before he leaned next to your ear and whispered. "Don't worry, we'll have more than enough time once the twins start going to school. Damn why are you doing this to me now, Y/n?"
"I'm not doing anything, Hawks," you said as you felt his forehead pressed on your shoulder. "You were the one who pounced on me like an animal in heat."
Although you were the one who kissed him first. It's not like it was a sensual kind of kiss, it was just a peck. It was him who started stimulating you.
"Oh if you knew," Hawks muttered.
He knows the effect he has on you and he's enjoying every bit of it. But he wondered if you knew the effect you have on him too.
Hawks leaned back to look at you and he was going to steal one more kiss when he heard the door. This time, being fast for his own good, Hawks was able to put a good distance between you and him that wouldn't seem suggestive before the door completely opened and the twins stood by the doorway.
"Papa, we were wondering how's mama," Keishi said while Keita took a peek from behind his brother until he saw you sitting on the bed.
"Mama?" Keita asked slowly.
You gave them a smile before outstretching your arms and the twins beamed in happiness as they ran towards you and jumped on the bed as you engulfed them in a hug.
"Happy birthday," you greeted them before lowering your arms.
"Mama, are you feeling well now?" Keita asked.
"Right! Papa said mama's not feeling well a bit," Keishi said.
"Mama's feeling better now."
The twins leaned back as they sat on the bed in front of you. While you glanced at Hawks who sat behind them.
"Papa's medicine for headache is very effective."
"Medicine?" Keita asked, tilting his head to the side. "Is it bitter medicine?"
"No," you answered, looking back at the twins. "In fact, it tasted sweet."
