A whole day off from Hero duty felt so short now to Hawks, like buildings blurring past when he's flying at full speed. The next thing he knew, it's morning again and he has to go to his agency to attend to his Hero duties.

This time, unlike yesterday, he woke up earlier than his sons. And when he's all set up and ready to leave, he heads to his sons' room to see the twins still sound asleep. They're both lying on their stomach, little wings folded on their backs. Hawks checked the clock briefly and looked down on his phone.

"The sitter is running late," he said. "I need to leave before the twins wake up."

Because the last time they woke up before Hawks could leave, they started to cry and Hawks almost weren't able to leave. The twins have some, quite serious, separation issues, and they probably got it from the fact that they don't have a mother on their side while growing up so they attached themselves to their father so much.

After checking on them, Hawks stood up. He was planning to call the sitter but he still hadn't gotten to the door when one of his twins started to stir in his sleep.

The eldest, Keishi, moved and tossed to the side. His hand rubbing his eyes before he blinked them open, hands propped on the bed as he looked to the side.
