Jazmine POV-
"Bum wake up!" I had a cheesy grin on my face as I sat on Aug's side of the bed with the breakfast I had prepared. I was so proud of myself!
I had done this all on my lonesome, the only thing Mama Shelia did was give me directions and made sure I wasn't poisoning her baby.
She was off to run some errands and it was just me and Aug.
He slowly opened his eyes and scratched his head.
"I made this all myself."
He sat up, the covers fell off his bare chest revealing his marvelous tattoo.
Most people thought he had a bird chest, which he may have, but still seeing him shirtless, hell shirtless, drawerless, still turned me on.
"What you got?" He took the fork from me.
"Eggs. Bacon. Cheese grits. Biscuits."
He ran his fork through the grits.
"Why are you staring at me?" He gave a half smile.
"I want to know what you think."
"My honest opinion?"
"Yeah."
"If I say it's not good you not gone be hurt?"
"No. I have lunch and dinner to get it right."
He put pepper on the grits and eggs. He put his fork to pick up some eggs and I closed my eyes and crossed my fingers.
"Jazz." He laughed.
"Huh?" I said with my eyes still closed and fingers crossed.
"You look crazy. Stop."
"I will after you taste it."
"Aight. I'm tasting the eggs now." Aug said. I couldn't see him my eyes were closed.
"These eggs bland as hell." I heard a voice say.
It didn't sound like Aug's. I opened my eyes.
"Who made this?" I looked over at the door, Travis, Aug's brother who I had only seen in picture was eating from a plate. He had a formal suit on.
"These cheese grits fye tho. Mama must of made these. But I know damn well she didn't make this eggs. You must've made these Peanut." He said eating from the plate.
"Are they bland?" I looked at Aug.
"Just a lil bit. Not bad tho. Boobie shut up. And get out." Aug told him.
Travis gave him the middle finger.
"You ain't gon introduce me to the pretty lady?" Trav looked at me then Aug.
"No cause you a nobody."
"Anyway, I'm Peanut here's brother." He extended his hand to shake mine.
"Nice to meet you I'm Jazmine." I shook his hand.
"Soft hands. Must mean you don't cook or wash dishes."
"Or it could mean she take care of her hands, unlike them crusty ass women you be fucking with."
"Don't disrespect my hoes." He said taking a bite of biscuit.
"Isn't that disrespecting them by calling them hoes?" I laughed at Travis's contradiction.
"Boobie goodbye." August told him.
"You and August friends?" Travis asked me.
"I'm his girlfriend." I blushed.
"Hm." He raised his brow and rolled his eyes like "if you say so."
"What was the look for?" Aug looked at Him.
"Nigga you know." Travis gave him the side eye.
"No, what? She is. I announced it on instagram yesterday."
Travis pulled out his phone and looked.
"Oh you was serious?"
"Yes nigga." August replied.
"My bad I thought it was game. Peanut got a girlfriend. After all these years."
"Goodbye Boobie."
"I got work anyway. Was trying to catch Mama but she gone. Anyway, I'll be over later. Spend some time with you before you go. If the hospital don't keep me late. Nice to meet you uh..."
"Jazmine." I said.
"Jazmine. Peanut tell mama to call me."
He waved goodbye and disappeared.
"So your brother thought I was one of your little hoes huh?"
"No. He just not used to me having a girlfriend. " he ate some bacon.
"Why does he call you Peanut?"
"All my fam calls me that. Been calling me that since I was kid. Cause they say my head look like a peanut."
I bursted into laughter.
"It sorta does now that I look at it. Especially with that mess of a hair. It's all big at the top. Especially the forehead area." I rolled over in laughter.
"As sensitive as you are, I would shut up. Cause I could go in on your goatee but imma be quiet."
"Whatever. He said hospital. What does he do?"
"You asking a lot of questions about my brother."
"I don't know anything about your family besides what you told me about Mel."
"He's a med student. He's doing his residency."
"Impressive."
"Yeah the first doc in the fam." I looked at his plate all the food was gone, except the eggs.
"You almost ate it all babe!" I clapped my hands together excited.
He chuckled. "I was hungry. That's the only reason."
"Whatever." I took his plate.
"You get that shrimp étouffée right, then you can brag."
"I am. What do you want for lunch?"
"I actually want to take you to some places around the city. So you ain't got to worry about that." He got up and stretched.
"So gone put that up so we can get ready to go." He went to the bathroom.
I put his plate in the kitchen, then went to get ready. I was excited to see where he was going to take me.
