Third Person:
It's been fifteen days. A man in a hat that covered his face bells came walking to Urokodaki's house. Nezuko saw him from outside.
Nezuko: Hi there...
Haganezuka: My name is Haganezuka. I have forged Nezuko Kamado's sword, and I am here to deliver it.
Nezuko: Oh.
Nezuko bows to the man.
Nezuko: I'm Nezuko Kamado. Come in.
Haganezuka sat down and took the covered sword off his back.
Haganezuka: This is the Nichirin Sword. I've forged it myself.
Nezuko: Um... do you want to come in, ha-
Haganezuka: The materials for a this kind of sword only come from the mountain closet to the sun. Made of Scarlet Iron Sand and Scarlet Ore. Unique, they produce steel that can absorb sunlight.
Nezuko: Wow really?
Haganezuka continues to explain to Nezuko.
Urokodaki: The man still refuses to listen to a word anyone else says.
The man shoves his face near Nezuko making her flinch.
Nezuko: A hyottoko mask?
Haganezuka: Hey, you're a Child of Darkness, aren't you? We'll isn't that lucky.
Nezuko: Uh, my parents names were Tanjuro and Kie.
Haganezuka: That's not what I meant. You know how your hair and eyes are that magenta tinted color? When a family that works with the moon has a child like you, it's considered lucky and cause for celebration.
Haganezuka pokes Nezuko's cheek.
Nezuko: Is it really? I had no idea.
Haganezuka: That means there's a good chance this sword will turn purple! Right, Urokodaki?
Urokodaki: Yes.
Nezuko holds her sword.
Haganezuka: Come on, hurry up and draw it! Nichirin Swords are also referred to as "Color-Changing Katanas." Because depending on the bearer they change color.
Nezuko takes off the cover and reveals the grey sword. The sword turns black.
Haganezuka: BLACK!
Urokodaki: That's interesting.
Nezuko: Why?! Is this turning black mean something bad? Is it unlucky?
Urokodaki: No no. Just that's it's a little unusual. You don't see it often, it's pitch black.
Haganezuka rages that the sword didn't turn bright purple.
While Haganezuka screams, Nezuko's crow flies in.
Crow: Nezuko Kamado! I bring you orders.
Nezuko: It can talk?
Crow: You must go to a town northwest of here! And hurry! Young girls have been disappearing!
Nezuko gasps. She's about to go on her first mission ever.
Crow: Night after night, at least one vanishes. You must hunt down the demon lurking there and kill it! Nezuko Kamado, prepare yourself well! This is your first assignment... as a member of the Demon Slayer Corps!
Nezuko: Alright... it's time.
Nezuko puts on her uniform. It's brown with a skirt. She puts her hemp leaf pattern haori on. She also put a small pink bow on.
Urokodaki: Finished changing?
Nezuko: Yes.
Nezuko turns around and reveals her look. She now had a red scar on her head.
Urokodaki: Nezuko... now that you've officially become a demon slayer swordswoman, I'd like to explain a few things.
Nezuko: Right.
Urokodaki: First, the Demon Slayer Corps uniform you're wearing is made of a special kind of fiber. It's lightweight, water resistant, and non- flammable. A low-level demon's claws and fangs aren't capable of tearing that fabric.
Nezuko: It's that strong?
Urokodaki: Impressive? Now is for the Nichirin Sword. It's color varies from owner to owner, and each hue has its own unique traits. There's not many demon slayers with black blades, so little is known about them. Some, believe they're a bad owner.
Nezuko: What does that mean?
Urokodaki: That blades are rumored to be owned by wielded by swordswoman who has little chance of going very far.
Nezuko: Oh well. I don't care if I'm not destined for greatness, because no matter what, I'll turn Tanjiro back.
Urokodaki: Yes. You're right.
Nezuko looks at Tanjiro who was peaking his head out from under the covers.
Urokodaki: I have no doubt you'll make that happen.
Nezuko: Thank you.
Urokodaki: One last thing. Here. A box to carry your brother during the day. Built from a very light wood called "Kirkumo Cedar." It's been coated with rock lacquer to reinforce the exterior to make it even more durable.
Nezuko: Thanks Urokodaki.
Nezuko picks it up.
Nezuko: Oh wow. You weren't kidding it is light!
Nezuko puts the box in front of Tanjiro and opens it.
Nezuko: Hop inside Tanjiro. Pretty please?
Tanjiro crawls in and Nezuko looks in it.
Nezuko: Tanjiro, from now on, we'll always be together.
Nezuko closes the box.
Nezuko: Alright. I'm off.
Urokodaki steps up to her.
Urokodaki: Before you go...
Urokodaki fixes Nezuko's collar. Then he puts his hands on her shoulders. Then he nods. Nezuko nods back. Nezuko waves goodbye and walks away.
Nezuko makes her way to the town. She walks through and hears people talking about the girls going missing. Nezuko gasps and runs to the man the people were talking about.
Nezuko: Mr. Kazumi!
Kazumi stops and turns to face her.
Nezuko: I wanna hear what happened last night, from you.
Kazumi: This is where Satoko vanished. But, I'm sure you don't believe me.
Nezuko: I do believe you. I'm here to help.
Maybe I should have Tanjiro sniff the area to be sure, but I feel the faint aura of a demon here.
Who is this kid anyway? Kazumi thinks.
Nezuko searches around town for traces of the demon.
Kazumi: I want you to believe me. She really did just vanish.
Nezuko: I know. That's why I came here. So I can stop this.
Nezuko searches through town again, this time it's night. Kazumi offers the idea of resting but Nezuko insists on continuing her search.
A girl was walking to her bedroom. She opened and closed her sliding door. After she hung up her jacket she laid down to rest.
Girl: I wonder what happened to girls who went missing. I hope they're alright.
The girl closes her eyes. A black sludge puddle spreads under her. She gets pulled into it absolutely horrified.
Nezuko jerks her head up starts running.
Kazumi: Hey! Where are you going?!
Nezuko: The feeling got stronger! The demon's active. Nezuko jumps onto a roof. She jumps down near a wall and a fence.
This is it. They're right here!
Nezuko pulls her sword out.
I don't see it. But the feeling is strongest, right here!
Nezuko sticks her sword through the ground and sees the girls kimono. She pulls her up, saving her.
Nezuko sees the demon and notices it has special powers. She then remembers what Urokodaki told her.
Urokodaki: The blood demon art is a special spell that some use to give them abilities. You may have to face some of them in the near future.
Nezuko: What did you do with the girls you kidnapped?
The demon sputters before going back into his puddle.
Kazumi: What was that?
Nezuko: I need your help. Hold her for me and stay to me. As long as you do that I can protect you.
Nezuko holds her sword out looking around for the demon. She feels the demon under her and gets ready to attack.
Water Breathing, FIFTH!
Six hands come out revealing three demons.
There's more of them!
Nezuko jumps up and the demons fail to catch her.
Take it easy! You've got this!
Eighth Form... Waterfall Basin!
Nezuko launches an attack on the demons.
Urokodaki: Nezuko, listen to me closely. There's only one demon that has the kind of blood that can turn a human, just one. That's it in the entire world.
Nezuko: Just one...
Urokodaki: The first demon there ever was, he's been here for more than a thousand years. He's the one who attacked your family. More importantly, I believe he's also the one who might know how to turn your brother back into a human. That demon's name is...
Kagaya Ubuyashiki!
I missed, Nezuko thinks. She only cut their arms.
I missed because I switched forms midway through!
The demons go back underground. Nezuko stands in front of Kazumi and the girl.
Usually demons don't work together. So one demon has split into three. I have to take them all out and still protect these two! Don't lose your nerve! Make him talk to you, about Kagaya Ubuyashiki... and about how to turn a demon back into a human!
The demon's jumps out of it puddle.
Total Concentration, Water Breathing! Second Form! Water Wheel!
Nezuko stabs the demons arm.
Missed again!
Nezuko swings her sword towards the demons neck but he dodges and goes back into his puddle. Then he backs away in it and sticks his head out again.
I can't chase him! And I can't take a full swing while protecting these two either.
Demon 1: She'll go stale! Move out of the way you little brat! The girl's 16 already she's losing falvor by time!
The second version of the demon comes out of another puddle far behind Nezuko.
Demon 2: Take a breath other me. No big deal, nights like this happen, right? I've already feasted on plenty of this town's 16 year old girls. And everyone one of them was meaty and delicious. I'm satisfied.
Demon 1: Well I'm not satisfied at all other me! I want to devour all of them!
Kazumi: You monster... bring Satoko back, the girl you took the other night!
Nezuko and Kazumi look up to see the third demon sputtering on the roof. The other demon does it too.
Demon 2: Satoko? Which one was that?
The demon opens his jacket and Kazumi gasps. The demon reveals tons of hairpins.
Demon 2: If her hairpin is in this collection, then I'm afraid I've already eaten her. Sorry.
Kazumi looked at the bow and started crying. It was Satoko's bow. The demons go back in their puddles and disappear.
A demon sticks their head out of a puddle next to Nezuko. They tried grabbing her but Nezuko dodged and cut their arm off. They go back into their puddle.
I missed again! They move so fast underground.
A puddle forms on the wall.
Crap! I'm too close to the wall!
A demon jumps out of the puddle and charges at Nezuko. She dodges him. They attack again but she dodges. Another version of the demon sneaks behind Nezuko. He was about to grab her when her box opened and a leg kicked the demon's head, making it spin. The demon's body jumped back and fell. The other version of the demon pokes out of puddle.
Demon 2: Why in the world would a demon be traveling with a mere human?
What's the meaning of this? The demon thinks. Who are these two? Why would a swordswoman and a demon be working together?
Tanjiro jumps out of the box and faces the demon he kicked down. Nezuko stands back up.
It doesn't make any sense, the demon thinks before disappearing. The demon Tanjiro is facing fixes their head and goes back into the puddle.
Tanjiro turns around and faces Kazumi and the girl he's holding. He walks up to them and stares at them. He puts his left arm on Kazumi's cheek and right hand on the girls head. He didn't see Kazumi and a random girl. He saw Takeo and Hanako, his siblings.
Nezuko: Tanjiro...
Nezuko was a bit surprised by this. The she remembers that Urokodaki made him think all humans are his family while he was sleeping. He told him to protect humans and that demons are hero's enemy.
Tanjiro angrily runs up to the demons.
Nezuko: Tanjiro!
Urokodaki: If a demon harms a human, never forgive them!
Tanjiro lifts his foot up over the demon. The demon goes back into his puddle. Tanjiro ends up kicking the ground. The other demon chuckles. Tanjiro charges at him.
Nezuko: Tanjiro!
Tanjiro stops and looks at Nezuko.
Nezuko: No, don't chase him. Get back here! Come to me.
Tanjiro runs back to Nezuko. Suddenly the demon jumps out of a puddle.
Nezuko: Tanjiro!
The demon tries to grab Tanjiro, but he jumps over him.
A puddle forms under Nezuko. She jumps back. A demon from a different puddle aims at Tanjiro but he dodges him.
Nezuko looks at the puddle and come up with an idea.
Nezuko: Tanjiro! I'm going underground. Keep them safe for me! Can you do that?
Tanjiro nods. Nezuko steps into the puddle and goes in.
It's a swamp.
Nezuko was inside the puddle. It was filled with dirty pond water and ripped kimonos.
Nezuko looks at them angered.
Demon 2: Getting hard to breathe yet? There isn't a whole lot of air down here in the swamp. Also, the darkness closing in on you will add to the weight you feel. If you can't move the way you would above ground down here, then you should've looked before you left you stupid fool!
The third demon swims towards Nezuko. The second demon follows.
You underestimate me. Where do you think I got my training? Besides, some moves only reach their full potential underwater!
The demons show off their speed around Nezuko. Nezuko brings her sword up ready to fight.
Total Concentration! Water Breathing! Sixth Form! Whirlpool!
Nezuko cuts all of the demons' body parts, including their heads. They burn to death. Nezuko swims towards the opening of the puddle.
Tanjiro and the other demon fight in the surface. The demon throws punches at Nezuko. He dodges them and punches the demon's stomach.
This boy's powerful!
Tanjiro punches and kicks the demon, sending him back.
Seems like he hasn't picked up any skills yet, but he's still so strong! He must have given him a massive amount of blood!
The demon was about to go back underground but Tanjiro kicks and stops him.
He's so fast I can't even back down in the swamp!
The demon and Tanjiro continue to fight but the demon starts to memorize Tanjiro's moves. The demon scratches Tanjiro's forehead.
What the hell?! This kid's forehead is so strong! But it doesn't matter. I'm going to drill a hole right through his face!
The demon was about to attack Tanjiro but Nezuko jumps out of the puddle and cuts his arm off.
Nezuko: Hands off my brother!
Nezuko cuts his other arm off making the demon fall down.
This kid took me out! This girl beat two of me?!
Nezuko: Tell me! How many people have you killed?!
Demon: Oh give me a break! If it weren't for me these woman be grow old and tasteless! You should be great-
Nezuko slits the demon's mouth.
Nezuko: Nevermind!
Nezuko walks up to the demon who crawls away. She pins him with her sword.
Nezuko: What do you know about Kagaya Ubuyashiki? Tell me!
The demon gasps and starts shaking. He's panicking.
Nezuko: Talk to me!
The demon continues to freak out.
Demon: I-I can't... I can't tell you! I can't do it! I just can't!
?: You mustn't tell a soul. No one can know anything about me. Do you understand? Don't forget I'm always watching you. So if you tell anyone, I will know about it.
Demon: I can't say! I can't! I can't!
This guys is in fear! Nezuko thinks. He's terrified!
Demon: I can't tell you alright?!
The demon regenerates their arms and charges Nezuko. Nezuko quickly cuts their arms and head off. Their body burns and dies.
I couldn't get any information again.
Nezuko puts her sword away turns to look at Tanjiro who's forehead is wearing a scar.
Nezuko: Tanjiro!
Nezuko runs up to Tanjiro and looks at his scar. She notices he's asleep.
Nezuko opens her box and puts Tanjiro inside it. Kazumi watches in shock from what just happened. Nezuko gets up and walks towards Kazumi.
Nezuko: Mr. Kazumi? Are you alright?
Kazumi: I've lost my fiancé. How could I be alright?
Nezuko: Mr. Kazumi... you have to go on, no matter what, in spite of losing people. Even though it's devastating.
Kazumi angrily yells at Nezuko.
Kazumi: How am I supposed to do that?! You're just a kid! What do you know?!
Nezuko gently puts her hand on Kazumi's head. And gives her a soft yet sad smile. Kazumi looks into her eyes and gasps. She removes her hand and stands on up.
Nezuko: I'll be on my way now. Here.
Nezuko hands Kazumi a folded cloth.
Nezuko: I hope you'll find something of Miss Satoko's in there.
Kazumi opens the folded cloth and finds Satoko's bow. Kazumi cries over and Nezuko bows to him. Then she turns around and leaves.
You've been through this yourself, haven't you? Kazumi thinks. Kazumi quickly apologizes to her. Nezuko just turns around and waves at him.
Nezuko: I'm leaving the girl with you, get her home safe!
Nezuko makes her way out of the area. Her crow flies on her shoulder.
Crow: Head to Asakusa, Tokyo!Rumor has it a demon is lurking around there! CAW!
Nezuko: I've got another mission already?!
Crow: Oh yes, you do!
Nezuko: Can you at least give me a minute?
Crow: No time! Move it!
Nezuko: C'mon, just give me a chance to-
Crow: GO GET OUT OF HERE!
Nezuko: Hey! Knock it off!
