Leo's POV

"I think Scott likes me," I said bluntly, I've been staring at the ceiling for the pass hour, trying to connect the dots in my head,

"Of course, Scott likes you, you're one of his best friends," Lydia answered back in a monotone voice, I rolled over and looked up at her, she had her face buried in her laptop, looking for lord knows what,

"No, I mean, Scott likes me, likes me," I said to her, emphasizing the point, she froze and glanced up from her laptop, and I nodded,

She sighed, close the lid and pushed it aside.

"Okay, now you have my full attention, spill," She told me, I sat up in the bed and faced her,

"Okay, remember how Scott was when he first met Allison?" I asked,

"A stupidly, happy, bumbling idiot," she said looking away and scrunching up her face,

"Yes, and he was really apprehensive around her, like he wasn't sure what to do next," I said slowly and she nodded,

"Mhm," She said,

"Then afterwards, when he got with Kira, he different, more experienced, chattier, willing to get involved despite not knowing, but cautious around her?" I asked, and Lydia glared at me,

"Your point being..." she trailed,

"Scott, being overtly cautious around me," I stated and she blinked at me,

"Okay? And how does that correlate to him liking you?" She asked,

"Because, each time he likes someone, he gets weird, he starts to tiptoe around them, like worries he'll chase them off, while fawning over them like a lost puppy, which is oddly endearing but still predictably, Scott," I told her, she paused and nodded to herself,

"And you think he's being like that... with you?" She asked and I nodded, "When? How?"

"After I told him about the Ghost Riders, she said he would lose me, like he lost Kira and Allison, then he panicked after I tried to martyr myself at the lacrosse game, and he gave me a weird look at the hospital last night," I told her,

"Normally, given the things we've seen and done, him being worried about you wouldn't raise any issues of concern," She said more so to herself than to me, then she looked me in the face and I saw the frown settle in her eyes, "But this is Scott, we're talking about,"

"Exactly, and that's only part of the problem," I said with a sigh as I flopped back in the bed,

"There's more?" She asked,

"Jordan!" I exclaimed,

"Oh, I see where this is going now," She said and I heard the smirk in her voice, so I groaned, "You have a very hot deputy, who you're hooking up with btw, on your beck and call, while also having a very attractive, above average, lacrosse player, who is now developing a crush on you, two for the price of one,"

"Why are we best friends," I groaned out as I rolled over and pressed my face into her bed,

"Because you love me," I heard her say, the bed shifted as she moved and laid down beside me, I rolled over and laid down beside her, with both of us staring up at the ceiling, "And because you made the grave mistake of sitting next to me in elementary,"

"Lydia Martin, Leo Prince, we got seated next to each other due to alphabetical order," I whined and she chuckled,

"Then it was destiny," She said back, "A banshee and a hybrid, we just didn't know it yet,"

"Back to my boy problem," I said rolling my eyes, "What do I do?"

"Its simple," She stated, I turned to look at her and she looked back at me, "Which one are you in love with?"

I opened my mouth to speak and found my frozen. That was a hard one to answer, honestly. There were many conflicting feelings about both of them,

"It's still to early for that Lyds," I told her and this time she groaned, "Listen I like Jordan, seriously, like him, he's sweet, caring, protective and raises the standard for a lot the guys, I mean, I could see myself having a future with him," I told her,

"But..." She trailed off and I sighed,

"But, on the other hand, we have the literal golden boy, Scott McCall, I know him, I trust him, I've fought for him, I've had his back since all this craziness started, so there's a lot of emotions when it comes to that boy," I told her,

"But which one do you love? Who can you see yourself falling in love with? And not just for the heat of the moment, or because their attractive, which one makes you feel like this is it, this is my endgame, right here," she told me, I swallowed and turned back to the ceiling,

"I've never thought about Scott that way, and Jordan's always there, but Scott cares about me, and so does Jordan..." I rambled out, I ran my hands down my face and sighed harshly, which turned to a loud groan, "Both of them, neither, I don't know, this is hard! Boys are so freaking dumb!"

"Yes you are," She said with a chuckle, I scoffed at her laughter,

"When did this become so complicated?" I asked myself,

"After Derek left," she answered lowly, I looked over at her and she smiled at me, "You were happy with Derek, like head over heels type of happy, and it was the way he looked at you, Derek wasn't a man of many words until he had to talk, but whenever he looked at you, I knew he was down bad, Jackson never looked at me like, it was just... pure love and admiration,"

"Yeah, yeah" I said softly, as memories of him came back to brief, but I shook them away, "But Scott and Jordan aren't Derek,"

"True," She said with a nod, "Then you'll have to hear them say it,"

I turned and looked down at her.

"Get them both to tell you how they feel about you, a genuine confession, and if its real, if they love you, the one that feels right, will the one," She told me, I nodded as I listened to her,

"That's why you're best friend," I muttered softly, and she laughed out,

"Mhm," she said and I heard the glee in her voice, again,

_____________

"The corpus callosum is not only the largest white matter structure in the brain, but also the bridge connecting all parts of the brain to each other," Ms. Finch rattled out, I scracthed the notes down in my exercise book lazily, trying to keep my focus on her voice instead of Scott, who was stealing glances at me all day, "That ability for all parts of the brain to communicate, and to work together, help us make leaps in cognitive thinking. Any questions, thoughts, insight, Lydia?"

At the call of her name, I looked across the aisle and saw Lydia head turning from the window back to Ms. Finch.

"I completely agree," She muttered to her,

"Is there something outside that's more fascinating than the structure of the human mind?" Ms. Finch asked her,

"No. I don't think so," Lydia answered shaking her head,

"No. Okay. Good. Now, many people credit the corpus callosum, uh, for giving us a sense of intuition, gut instinct, even we ourselves aren't aware..." She continued but Lydia stood up abruptly and begun to leave,

"I'm sorry, I'll be right back," Lydia said as she ran out the class, Scott looked over at me and I just shrugged, he raised his eyebrows and I read the look as, what do we do?

I shrugged at him and just nodded to the door, saying follow her, I don't know.

Scott got up and made a move to leave.

"I'm just gonna check if she's okay," Scott said before following Lydia out of the class, I sighed and turned back to my book and waited for Ms. Finch to continue teaching, but she didn't and I begun to feel the gaze of several sets of eyes on me, so I looked up,

The entire class was now turned looking at me, expectantly. I turned and looked back at them, before looking at Ms. Finch who was standing there with her hands on her hips and an impatient look on her face.

"What? Is there something on my face?" I asked the class,

"Isn't this the part where you go chasing after them?" She asked me, I opened my mouth and snapped it shut before I replied, I looked to the window and saw Lydia running towards what looks like a tow truck, with Scott following quickly after her,

I shook my head.

"No, I'm pretty sure they've got what that is covered," I said with a skeptical smile and nervous chuckle,

"Mhm," Ms. Finch said, she walked over and parked herself next to desk, as if she was attempting me to leave the class, giving me a stern look before she continued to teach, "As I was saying, many people credit the corpus callosum..."

__________

After a very awkward return to class from Scott and Lydia, the rest of the day continues like normal. Until a loud screeching noise filled my ears.

"Argh!" I yelped in surprise as my knees buckle,

"Leo?" Coach asked, I looked up at him, realizing that he didn't or couldn't have heard what I just did, "You okay?"

I turned away from his desk that was covered in wedding stuff, from possible venues, catering reviews, musicians and wedding list to the door.

"Yeah, yeah, I just need a break for a minute," I said moving to the door before he could stop,

I walked out into the hall and saw Malia and Scott emerging from their classes too.

"What the hell was that?" I asked the pair,

"You heard it too?" Scott asked looking between us,

"Where's it coming from?" Malia asked, we turned and looked around the hall before the obvious direction became apparent,

"This way," Scott said leading us towards the door, we walked outside and looked around until we saw Lydia standing before the same blue jeep she left class for, the same one I spotted all those weeks ago, still parked in the same spot

"It's coming from inside," she said as walked up to her, the faint noise of radio static crackling as we got closer to the jeep, Scott and Malia walked over to the jeep and looked inside,

"Did somebody just lock the keys inside?" Malia asked,

"Break it," Lydia told them, Scott broke the handle and opened the door, and the crackling got louder,

The trio got inside the jeep and searched the inside, while I popped the hood and looked at the insides. This things has been parked here for about a month, maybe two, so its not leaking oil or any other fluids. But there was something else, that was worrying about the jeep.

"Who the hell uses duct tape, to which a broken fuel vale? Or coolant? And the battery?" I called out as I looked at all, the duct tape covering cars insides,

"Leo can you stop this thing from making noise?" Malia asked, I closed the hood and walked around to the door, I looked at the radio and noticed it was a police scanner,

"I can and I can't," I told them,

"Why not?" She asked,

"Its a police scanner, so if I mess with the wrong channel, every deputy in the county will hear me, or if I mess with wrong frequency, where person with a radio could hear me, so the safest bet, is to let it...." I told her but my voice trailed off as we all looked at the scanner,

The crackling stopped.

"Why'd it stop?" Malia asked,

"It doesn't matter. There has to be a reason," Lydia said flicking the switches on it, then Scott started sniffing the air,

"What? You caught a scent?" Lydia asked him,

"Yeah. Uh... ours... mine, yours, all four of us," he told us, I leaned in to the car and inhaled and caught my own scent in the jeep, along with the others,

"Mine? I've never been in this Jeep before," Malia told him,

"Neither have I," Scott told us,

"I'd rather catch several werewolf STDs before I got caught dead in this piece of crap," I told them with a disapproving grunt,

"Yes, we have. We just don't remember it," Lydia told us,

"I thought we were done with that," Malia sassed at her,

"Uh, yeah, Lydia, Parrish checked the VIN number. There's no record of owner," Scott told her,

"I asked in the office, and they said this things as been here for a long time, and no one's claimed it," I told her but she shook her head,

"The Jeep didn't just drive itself here," Lydia told us, which did make sense, Scott noticed this too and I saw his expression change,

"Whose side are you on?" Malia asked the boy,

"I'm on everyone's side," Scott said after looking between the three of us,

"He's not real. Trust me," Malia told her but Lydia just sighed and continued to search the jeep, "I've lost a lot of people in my life. It's a long list and I don't feel like adding to it,"

"You might not have to," Lydia said pulling out a piece of paper, "Not if we get him back,"

She handed it to Malia, who handed it to Scott,

"This is from '96. And there's no name," Scott said reading the registration papers,

"But there's an address. 129 Woodbine Lane," Malia said reading out the address,

"I know that address," Lydia told us,

"That's the sheriff's house," I said to them and we all looked at each other,

______________________________

While Lydia went to the Stilinski house, I was left babysitting the car with Scott, which was very awkward.

"So, how are things going with you and Parrish?" he asked, I turned the seat and looked at him, he was doing the puppy dog thing, trying to look as innocent as he could,

"Do you genuinely want to know, or...?" I asked him,

"Yeah," he said with a tight lipped smile and nodded, "Like do you guys go out? Does he take you on dates? Do you guys talk often?"

"We hang out, sometimes at his place, sometimes at the station when he's on the late shift, and yes we talk as often as it can be allowed, between him working and me being here," I answered as best as I could and he nodded,

Then came the apprehension.

"Do you guys... I mean, are you to, you know," he started to say then made hand gestures, fingers interlocking back and forth, I looked up at his face and saw his cheeks turning red, "You know,"

"Are we doing the horizontal tango?" I asked with a soft laugh,

"Or vertical, or whatever positions exist," he said with a shrug and I laughed,

"Yes, we are," I answered and his shoulders deflated a bit, "Why do ask?"

"Nothing, no reason," He said and his heart stuttered,

"You know, that I know, you're lying," I said to him and he sighed, sitting back in the seat with a huff, "So whatever it is, just ask,"

"Is it good? Being with him?" He asked,

"Physically or emotionally?" I asked back, he exhaled and bit his lips,

"Both," he said, I nodded and leaned back in my seat,

"Yeah," I answered with a smile,

"Are you in love with him?" Scott asked, I turned to look at him, he swallowed and I could smell his fear starting to climb,

"That's a strong possibility," I answered and he nodded again, clenching his jaw, nodding to himself, so I turned in the seat and looked at him, "Why does that bother you? Me being with Jordan?"

"It never did," he confessed, "Before I mean, but then Kira left, and we stopped Theo, and we were both singles for awhile so I thought... maybe,"

"Maybe what?" I asked, he turned his head to look at me,

"Maybe, I'd have a chance," he said again and his heart begun to race again,

"And you waited until now, when we're stuck in our supposedly, missing friend's jeep, with Ghost riders taking people, to say, 'Oh hey, Leo, I've had this crush on you for a while but I didn't understand my feelings so I said nothing, but now that bad things are happening and you seeing someone else I think its time to finally tell you, before you get kidnapped by demon cowboys, something like that?" I asked with all the sass and attitude I could muster,

Scott paused, he looked away from me and tilted his head back and forth, before nodding.

"Maybe not in so many words, but yeah," he said with a faint smile, I sighed and leaned back in the seat, but I kept my eyes on him,

"Scott-" I tried to speak but he cut me off,

"I have a crush you, I think I always had a crush on you, but I didn't know it or understand, until now," he told me, "But I won't apologize for being an idiot, because that very on brand for me,"

"Very," I emphasized,

"I just, wanted you to know, in case the worst happens," he told me, I looked down and saw his hand reaching over to mine and I took it, I looked back up and saw him looking at me, realizing that he was leaning in closer to me,

The air in the jeep grew hot and tight, and the space being us was getting smaller. Their was a thumb-thumb, noises, two sets of them, like two heart beats, mine and his. Scott was getting closer now.

Then there was a loud, mechanically beep, followed by an engine revving. We pulled back and saw the tow truck from earlier returning. Scott got out the jeep and I followed him out as the guy came out.

"We already paid you. I gave you all of my money for that drop fee," Scott told the guy,

"Yeah, and I dropped it, all right? Now I'm picking it up again," he told us, I looked and saw Lydia running from her car over to us,

"How much? I'll write you a check," she told him,

"It's not about how much. They want it out of here, okay? It's not up to me," he said to us, he stepped forward but Scott blocked his path, "Don't make me move you, kid, okay? I'm hookin' this thing up and I am towing it away,"

"Your sure about that?" I asked him and the man looked over at me, I grinned at him wolfishly and forced my fangs down a bit, just enough to make him warry, then I heard Scott cracking his knuckles as he clenched his fist,

Then they was a metal snap, we turned and all Malia dropping the wrench of the truck.

"Your truck's broke," She told the man,

Malia successfully scared off the tow truck guy, and now we were stuck in the school parking lot, with a jeep. Scott and Lydia were inside while Malia and I paced on the outside.

"Do they know what they're doing?" Malia asked me, I looked over to her and saw her looking at Lydia and Scott,

"I think so," I told her, she nodded and turned back to her and saw stared off in the distance away from the car, "You okay?"

"Yes, no, maybe," she answered, I sighed and stepped over to her,

"Want to talk about it?" I asked her, and she growled in response,

"I just don't get why Lydia's so fixated on finding this guy," Malia said sounding hurt and angry,

"Because she wants him, we all want him back," I told her, she folded her arms and stepped away from me, so I stepped closer to him, "Don't we?"

"Yeah!" she growled, but I could there was more, "It just... this Stiles guy he was my anchor, but I feel like..."

"Like?" I asked trying to get her to continue,

"Like there's more, like he meant something more to me, than just maintaining my humanity," She said softly, "You know?"

I opened my mouth to answer her when a loud and pained roar echoed through the air. My head snapped in the direction of the roar, whoever was calling out was in pain.

"What the hell?" Malia asked,

"Did you hear that?" Scott asked as he and Lydia got out of the jeep,

"I think all of Beacon Hills heard that," Lydia told us, and if she could hear it, then any human could have as well,

"Who is it?" Scott asked,

"I'm not sure, but I think I recognized it," Malia told us,

"Same, but I can't place it," I said nodding to myself, we all turned to give each a look,

"Go!" Lydia told us and we took off running,

_____________

We ran in circles through the preserves looking for whoever was calling for help, but couldn't find the person.

"Hey," I heard Scott call out, I turned and saw Malia coming up to him, "Any luck?"

"No. He hasn't roared again. I've got a scent but..." Malia begun to say but trailed off, "There's something wrong with it. It smells like whoever it is, is burning,"

"Which can't be a good thing," I called out over my shoulder, then a roar came from the distance,

We moved towards it, over an incline, and then we saw the person. They were burnt and chard. Bloody and smoking still.

"I hear a beat," Malia said as we got closer to the man,

"Who is that?" Scott asked,

"I don't know, but I know the scent. Even through the barbecue," Malia said as we circled the man,

He was tall and well built, muscles, despite being seriously burnt and wounded, were still present. He looked familiar, very familiar.

"How do you think he got here?" Scott asked, Malia got closer to the man and knelt beside him, I came to the other side and lowered myself to a squat, and the closer I got to him, the more he started to look like someone I know, but who, "There's no tracks. No fire,"

The man's eyes opened and he gasped for breath, looking between us. Then it was the shady, soft blue color in his eyes, that matched a certain pair of green, I knew all too well.

"Oh, my god. Peter?" Malia called out,

"Holy shit!" I gasped,

"Who's Peter?" Scott asked her,

"Peter Hale. My dad," Malia told him,

"My godfather," I said in a hushed tone, he tried to get up but he was too badly hurt to do anything, he tried to speak but it came out as a pain stutter,

"He bit me," Scott gasped out, he got down beside me and look over at us, "How could I forget him?"

"How did I forget him?" Malia asked us,

"He just slipped from our minds," I said softly as Peter begun to breath heavily, struggling to move, and a soft clicking came from his hands,

"He has somethin," Malia said looking at Peter's hand but he began to shake and convulse in pain,

Scott took his hand and siphoned his pain, Malia did so with the other. He struggled and I shifted, laid my hand on his burnt cheek and siphoned more pain. It felt weird to take his pain, but still right to do.

He let out a ragged breath, turning head towards my palm, seeking some relief from the pain and Malia opened his hands.

"What is it?" Scott asked her, she raised her hands and a set of keys dangled from her hands,

It clicked.

"How much you want to bet those are the keys to the jeep?" I asked the pair,

"But why would Peter have them?" Scott asked me,

"Because it's Peter, the man's got a survival instinct Bear Grylls would kill for, and the timing off it all?" I questioned, "We find the jeep, then he shows up and has a pair of keys,"

"Let take the win," Scott said as he reached over and took the keys from her, and I begun to call for help, because despite him being a morally grey kind of character and, the fact that he tried to kill Scott, twice, TWICE, he didn't deserve to out in the middle of nowhere,
