"Shadowhunter down." jace speaks, walking over to us, clary walking next to him,
" is that blood?" alec questions looking at clarys hands seeing the red stainng them
"yeah..."clary mutters looking at her hands before looking at me, seeing the way i stare straight at them.
"im fine" i mutter, gulping staring at them, unknown to me my eyes glow making everyone look at me." im fine" i snap shaking my head wrapping my arms around my self.
" Milo Keytower."clary speaks nodding her head explaining who it was that died.
" What happened?"izzy questions looking between them with a confused expression
" From what I understand, his runes were carved out.Is that true, Jace? " the inqusitor questions walking over to us, guards following her as she looks at her grandson.
"Yes. After he was attacked by a wolf." jace explains seriously looing betwen everyone.
" He had multiple bite and claw marks."clary tells us, brushing her hand on her jacket after seeing em still watching them.
" What kind of werewolf randomly attacks a Shadowhunter?"izzy qiestions confused.
" One who's trying to send a message."alec speaks seriously nodding his head whilsyt glancing at me.
" And get the attention of the Clave."the older woemn speaks angerily.
" We need to find them before this happens again."clary speaks looking at everyone making them agree.
" Well, I think I have a pretty good idea who it is."the inquisitor speaks making everyone look over at her confused.
"im so sorry gracie, i totally forget"clary speaks walking over to me,
everyone was leaving to get ready to leave the insitute.
" its fine" i say shurgging my shoulders,just giving her a small smile.
" how are doing?" she questions smiling at me, putting her hand on my shoulder making me glance at it before stepping back.
" im fine....just....rough morning" i mutter, before looking over at alec, seeing jace speaking to him about the shaodwhunter who died but he isnt lisetning his eyes are on me.
walking into the jade wolf, i changed into a hoodie, to have my hood up.
i know luke knew what i was now...but i didnt want him to know how much i was strugiling with it.
we saw him sitting in a booth across from simon making me and jace and alec walk straight over.
"Luke, we need to talk."alec speaks the moment we stand at the end of their table.
he looks up at us imeditely. i stand just behind jace. i know its clear something is up from the way im hiding my face from him.
"gracie"luke speaks frowning looking at me confused, uusally i waould be hugging him and smiling.
"not now luke" i mutter looking away from him.
" A Shadowhunter's been mutilated and killed by a wolf. "jace speaks seriously. pulling everyones attention in the resturant towards us.
everyone falls silent as luke looks up at alec and jace confused.
"watch your tone in here" luke speaks harshly looking at jace.
"how do you know a wolf killed him?"simon questions looking up at us frowning.
"because of the claw marks,and traces of DNA on the body."alec explains to him making luke looks around the bar with a serious expression his face as everyone listens in
" Luke, the Inquisitor would like you to come in. Just to answer a few questions." jace explains to him making luke instantly lookm at him with a glare
"Are you questioning me or are you accusing me?"he ask raising his eyebrows looking at the inquisitor.
he was sat down in chair in an office, the inquisitor stood infront of him, em and alec and jace stood behind the chair.
and two guards placed on either side of the door.
" A week ago, you demanded the destruction of the Soul Sword. A demand which, of course, is impossible to even consider." the inquirstor speaks crossing her ars, her whole demenor professional as she looks down at luke." Which leads me to wonder... was this killed an act of revenge on the Clave?" she questions looking down at him with a serious glance.
"you think that I would murder a Shadowhunter?"luke scoffs shaking his head angirly looking up at her with a surpirsed expresson.
" We all know about your temper, Lucian."she speaks seriously looking down at him making him shake his head.
" Does she really think Luke did this?"i whisper to alec making him shurg his shoulders as we look at them.
" Take my DNA. Test it against your evidence. I'm not your wolf. And if any one of my pack did it... I'll kill them myself." luke eplains firmly.
" Take him down to the lab."the inquisitor speaks looking over at the guards making luke stand up, me and alec follow out after them, jace staying behind to talk with his grandmother.
"so...how are things?" luke questions as we walk down towards the lab.
" there fine." i speak, not even glancing at him.
" dont lie" luke speaks smiling sadly at me, alec walks just behind us with the guards.
"there shitty okay..." i mutter looking away from him as we continue to walk.
"i gathered" he says still smiling at me.
" i dont know what to do luke...nothing ever ends well anymore.... i wish i could just go back in time and make sure none of this ever happened..." i speak shaking my head making him laugh slightly.
" thats not possible gracie and you know it ." he tells me sadly." all you can do now. is talk...you have so many people there for you. people who care. people who are there to watch out for you" he explains making me glance back seeing alec wathcing us."you just have to let them try"
"what if i hurt them." i question with a worried expression on my face finally looking at him, my eyes flahsing at him making him smile slightly.
"thats a risk your just going to have to take." luke tells me making me bite my lip looking awya from him...
"congratulations"alec speaks standing up from looking at a screen, i was standing off to teh side, my phone in my hands.
thinking over what luke had said... i wanted to fix this. i wanted things to get better...and i needed to start with magnus... i just didnt know what to do.
"it should have been you. i told her that."jace speaks crossing his arsm looking at alec.
"huh?"i say looking up from my phone confused. i didnt really catch the first part of their conversation, i was too busy looking at my phone and the picture of me and magnus on it.
"jace is the newhead of the institue." alec speaks standing up from his seat.
" oh, congrats"i say smiling slightly before looking back down at my phone.
"The Clave was never going to hand it to me. I'm dating a guy who's a Downworlder, my girlfriend is valentines daughter and a vampire" alec speaks shaking his head making me look up at him frowning."not that i care gracie" he speaks smiling at me slightly making me nod back before looking back down at my phone.
"Look Alec, I didn't want this, I swear." jace speaks seriously looking at him with wide eyes.
" You're a Herondale. Get used to the perks."alec speaks patting jace on the shoulder." come on gracie-" alec speaks turning to look at me before suddnely a loud alarm goes off.
i shove my phone into my back pocket as we all looks around confused.
suddenly we see clary walking in with two people being pushed in dead by other shadowhunters.
"what happened?" jace questions confused looking at her as she comes walking over to us the dead bodys also being pushed over too.
" we found Rosegreen and Penmount dead in the Bowery. Runes carved out. Just like Keytower." clary explains seriousy crosssing her arms. looking at the bodys.
i step back slightly smelling the scent of blood coming off them making alec look at me instantly.
"Except Penmount's been drained by a vampire." i mutter looking over at their body seeing the marks on their neck.
everyone frowns before looking at it.
"And Rosegreen was lanced by a Seelie Knight."jace speaks standing next to the other body looking at the marks on it.
"It's not just a lone wolf. It's multiple Downworlders." clary explains to us seriously as izzy comes walking over to look at the bodies too.
"Luke was right all along. The Downworlders want revenge. This could be the start of an uprising." jace speaks seriously making everyone look over at him with wide eyes.
