"Hey Arun" I called as I saw him sitting in his cabin that is in front of manik's cabin
"Hi nandini, what's up" he replied looking up as I leaned on his door
"Nothing much, is he busy" I asked
"He is angry, I dont know about busy"
"Why is he angry"
"There is another company competing for tomorrow's project and he is angry about it"
"But why is that making him angry, I mean of course others will fight right"
"Ya but he knows the person I believe"
"You believe or you know" I asked
"You are just as scary as Manik sometimes, umm I know"
"Who is the person" I asked sitting down
"Umm I dont know if he will appreciate me telling you, just ask him"
"Arunnn"
"Nandu yar tu mujhai pitwayegi, he will fire me and then torture me then hire me back to torture me more" he said being dramatic
"Of whatever, he won't, he loves you come on tell me "
"Its his brother"
"The fuckkk" I yelled
"Okay can you keep it quiet please he will seriously kill me"
"Stop being dramatic he wont"
"He will, just dont go in right now, he is angry and I dont wanna have to rescue you and then have cabir rescue us both"
"Oh get over it drama queen, if you dont hear anything being broken or me yelling just know its going okay or you can just come in" I said and he looked nervous
"Breath I dont wanna have to carry you becasue you fainted" he chuckled at my comment
"Be careful" he said and I nodded
With a million questions in my mind I walked towards his cabin and taking a deep breath I walked inside. There he was sitting at the same exact spot I left him two hours ago, with his head in his hands
"Hi babe" I said pulling his chair in front of him and sitting down in the chair
"umm can you please leave me alone for a little bit I just need to calm down" he said in the calmest voice possible but his eyes were spitting fire
"I could do that but id rather stay" I said leaning forwards and linking my arms behind his neck pulling him in a hug
He didn't do anything, he just let me hug him, a few minutes later he released a huge breath and wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me in his lap. It was a new feeling to be siting in his lap but in this moment the only thing concerning me was him and his mind,
He is the calmest person when it comes to me but I have heard a lot of stories of him and his anger, I have never had to cross paths with him even though I work in his company but he recently shifted here so I guess thats good. I am not scared of facing his anger I am just worried at this point
"You okay babe" I asked and he nodded in my neck
"Are you sure, you dont seem well, what is it?"
"Nothing" he mumbled
"Should I ask arun" I asked even though I knew
"He told you already didnt he" he murmured in neck
"Yes he did, do you wanna maybe go home and we can cuddle a little then we can finish working on the presentation for tomorrow" I suggested and he didnt say anything
I caressed his hair behind the back of his neck and he relaxed in my arms leaning into me. So this is why he was stressed about this meeting, it wasn't the actual meeting but the people involving it.
"Let it go Manik, keeping a lot in your head at the moment isn't going to help, sure you can be worried about not getting the project but I promise I will try my best to explain the designs and we will get the project okay" I assured him
"I trust you but other stuff may not be in my favour"
"Well who cares, ill be in your favour" he smiled against my neck
"I came here to tell you something" he moved back from my neck resting his head on the couch
"What is it"
"Congratulations babe, I heard about it from cabir and navya I am so so proud of you manik" I said pecking his lips
"Thanks darling" he said with a small smile
"Its such a proud moment, why are you not jumping and crapping your pants" I asked and he chuckled a little at my choice of words
"Becasue I have a meeting to worry about for tom and the person coming in as well" he said and I could tell this isnt gonna be something I could distract him from
"What will it take for me to distract you from this shitty meeting things and focus on me" I asked and he didnt say anything
"Come on mr malhotra, I thought you were extremely romantic and here you have a beautiful girl sitting on your lap yet your hands seem to be resting" I teased pouting at him
"I am romantic" he bit back
"I doubt it" I knew I was pushing it
"Very well then" with these words he leaned forward placing his lips on mine
He was still angry, I could feel it in his kiss, he was aggressive not in a way it could hurt me but it was his way of trying to let go of the things in his head. He bit my lip making me gasp, taking the opportunity to slip his tongue in my mouth, it felt new yet good to me. I tried following his steps, my hands rested at the back of his neck while his left hand rested at the back of my neck pulling me in, his other hand was on my back.
I pulled back from him feeling breathless, resting my forehead against his, this man does not get breathless like what. I am over here panting trying to catch my breath and he is not even struggling.
"Shhh take a deep breath" he mumbled rubbing my back which did work to catch my breath
"Is that romantic enough for you kitten"
"Shut up" I said seeing him smirk
"Ahh I love you so much, you are such a bold temptress one moment and a sweet bubbly shy baby in the next and honestly it is a quality that I admire the most about you, well of course after your crazy crazy ramblings" he said and I smiled
"You are okay right" I asked and he nodded
"Just a bit stressed but ill be okay"
"Nandini do I need to call cabir" arun said walking in with a cushion
"Hahahahah you are so cute dude" he smiled seeing us making me realize that I am literally sitting in manik's lap
I was about to get up but manik's grip on my waist tightened stopping me from getting up
"Why the fuck would you tell her something I clearly said not to tell anyone" he roared
"Okay first of all you didnt say anything about not telling nandini, second she sounds intimidating dude and third who cares she is your wife and my boss so technically I had to" he said sitting on the chair
"I am your boss" manik said glaring at arun
"Technically she is your boss which means she is my boss which also means id rather be on your bad side than hers now back to the point. What are we doing about this brother of yours, should I call cabir, do we need to have a team meeting at home or are we sending nandini to intimidate him cause trust me it'll work" he said and I giggled
"Arunnn' his voice was so husky and filled with anger
"Fine, then what" he said putting hands up
"Team meeting at 8 dinner at home" I suggested
"No, nandini dont be offended but I really dont want you involved in this mess please" manik said and I felt hurt for a second but I knew he was only trying to protect me
"If you will let me handle mrs Murthy and alia alone then sure I wont be involved" I used the only thing that could make sense in this situation to convince him
"Nandini dont use that"
"Please manik"
"No" he said and I looked at arun
"Manik she isnt a child and its high time, cabir and I can never calm you down and she can so just tell her, ill grab cabir" he said and I smiled at him which he returned as he walked out
"You arent helping or getting involved in this okay, I dont care about anything, I am telling you right now, if he is coming to the meeting you arent presenting these designs in front of him and thats clear, I dont wanna be hard or get angry at you nandini so please" he spoke looking in my eyes
"Like arun said, I am not a kid manik. if you can help me with mrs Murthy then I have a right to be here when you are dealing with something, I didnt ask you to share it with me becasue its a sensitive topic so I know you will take your time which I am okay with but just let me be by your side please manik" I could tell he was contemplating
"Its for your safety sweetheart"
"I am the safest around you babe, just please"
"Okay" he mummbled
"Thank you" I leaned forward and kissing his nose because I know he loves when I kiss his nose
"Now let go of me, before cabir and navya come in please" I said and he chuckled
Leaning in he pecked my lips a couple times and let go of my waist, I got up and sat on his chair while he grabbed his file getting back into work. I looked at how his forehead had frowns as soon as he started working again making me laugh
"You are really handsome babe"
"Thanks darling, but focus" he said giving me a smile
