"COME ON FUCKING MOVE WE DONT HAVE TIME. IF YOU DONT RUN WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE, COME ON RED HEAD THAT MEANS YOU TOO"
The red head, I had no idea who she was. If she was even part of this mission. She didn't speak but she took orders well.
We are all running back to the jet and I feel something shoot into my leg.
Fuck.
Red head: "ALL OF YOU GET ON THE PLANE IM GOING BACK FOR HER"
They are all looking at her like she's crazy.
Red head: "no man left behind right"
She smirks at me and lifts me up bridal style.
- flashback-

You: " I do"
Nat: " I do too"
Vicar : " you may kiss the bride"
And like that, she carried me down the isle bridal style, just like the first time we met.
- present day-
Nats pov:
Steve: " what's wrong Nat, you have been watching the clock all day"
Nat: "nothing. I need to see Fury. Don't save dinner for me."
Steve: " ok Merry Christmas Nat"
Nat: " merry Christmas"
I can't believe she's not here.
Something must have happened. My heart sinks. This is her job, this happens.
I head towards Fury's office.
Nat: " is she coming home. Is she still alive. What's happened to her"
Fury: " Natasha calm down. She's still alive, she's just had a couple of delays. Some complications came up and I'm sorry, she's not being discharged for Christmas."
Tears drop from my eyes. It's been 7 months since I last heard from her, she's part of the top secret military service, so no home contact.
Nat: " ok no worries"
Fury: " go enjoy Christmas with them. She would want you too. I know that she's missing you too"
Steve's pov:
Nat has been down in the dumps for the last week but todays different, she looks so done.
She never tells anyone anything and as far as we know, we are all her family.
Wanda: " are we going to wait for Nat until we open the presents."
Peter: " Mr Stark please just one present"
Tony: " kid it's all about self discipline. I'm sure the frosty queen will be back soon"
Bruce: " where's Clint...?"
Steve: " he's gone home for the holidays but he left his gifts under the tree."
Nat walks through and let's out a small smile.
Peter: " finally we can open some presents"
Everyone is sitting down and opening their presents and thanking each-other. Nat is silently sitting there unwrapping her presents, when we hear the door bell"
Delivery guy: " uhhh package for Miss Natasha Romanoff. It's quite big so will need two people"
Steve: " don't worry about it. Thank you, happy holidays"
The package was huge and wrapped up with a bow on top.
Steve: "Nat it's for you"
She looks up, confused.
Your pov:
God, this box was claustrophobic. I could feel her footsteps coming towards me. I was so excited to see her. She's starts ripping open the box.
You: " suprise baby, I'm home"
She starts crying and hugging me.
Nat: " you're home"
Nat: " please don't leave me again. Please I can't bare being here without you"
Steve: " uhhhh who is this?"
You: " I'm Nats wife"
Tony: " I'm sorry did you just say wife?"
Nat: " yes she's my wife you dickheads"
Nat: " let's go upstairs"
You: " it was nice to meet you all"
Steve: " same goes y/n"
You: " I'm sorry I could call, or write letters baby"
Nat: " don't apologise I understand, all that's important is that your here now"
I give her a kiss on the head because she's slightly smaller than me.
Nat: " I missed you every minute of every day"
You: " well I can say the same, you were the only thing getting me through."
Nat: " why were you gone so long baby, your never gone this long?"
You: " it just was a longer mission"
Nats pov:
She's lying.
Whatever happened, it was bad.
Something happened to her out there. Her missions are always 5 months max, how was she gone for an extra 2 months.
You: " babe"
I shake my head out of my gaze.
Nat: "Sorry I'm just tired"
She scoops me up bridal style and walks out the elevator.
Nat: " go to the left, third door down"
She looks down and smiles and we head towards my room. She gently places me on the bed and then walks to the other side to join me. She brings me in close so I can cuddle in close. I have never felt so safe in her arms.
You: " I love you so much Nat"
Nat: " I love you more"
You: " I don't think that's possible"
I sit on top of her and smile.
You: " I've missed that smirk"
I smirk again. She grabs me and tickles me until I'm giggling and trying to get her to stop.
- time skip-
I hear something in the bathroom and I go to tap y/n to wake her up. However she's not there. I rush up and into the bathroom and see her sitting on the toilet (lid down ofc) crying and shaking.
Nat: " baby"
You: " I'm sorry.... I woke you.... I'm so sorry"
I wrap her up in my arms.
Nat: " I'm here it's ok, what's going on"
You: " I was back there again... I can't go back again"
Nat: " and you don't have to baby. It's ok I'm here. You're safe with me"
You: " I'm supposed to be the strong one here. I'm sorry let's just go back to bed"
She takes my hands and we go back to bed where she strokes my hair over and over.
The silence is awful. Somethings changed I don't like it.
You: " it was august 23rd. I was due to come home in just over a month.... I was leading my group when we heard gun shots. It went on for a long time. We hid. We didn't move an inch. Nightie came and we didn't move. The next day came and we didn't move. We were told that this area had been cleared completely. We just hid. Until I sent out an order to move out. I watched every single one of them get shot down by a sniper on the roof above us. I was at the back. I got stuck with one other solider. We fell back. We were trapped. The others were dead. We... we had no options. A week passed, we had finished all the water supply, no more food left. We had to go. We had to get up to the roof and kill that guy. I killed him."
Nat: " you were just doing your job baby"
You: " so was he"
Nat: " please just know not everyone can be saved"
You: " there's more...... 2 weeks later... my last soldier quit, I had to do a solo mission. I was shot, but on my own. I had no communication, I had to patch myself up and try get back to base. After I came back I could fly because of the injury. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
Nat: " oh baby. It's ok. Don't apologise. I wish I could've been there but I wasn't, so I can only help you now. I'm here. You're safe. We can go home in the morning ok"
You: " ok now come here and let me hold you."
We snuggle up and put princess diaries on. She strokes through my hair and holds me close.
You: "Merry Christmas my love"
Nat: " merry Christmas, oh wait I almost forgot your present!!"
I run over and get the little box.
She carefully opens it.
You: " oh Nat."
Little tears drop from her eyes.
She opened the little envelope which had the details of an IVF treatment centre.
You: " we are going to have a baby. Oh you don't know how happy this makes me."
Nat: " you're going to be an amazing mama"
You: " you remembered me saying i wanted to have a child."
Nat: " I know this has been sprung and it's soon and you know it has to be you to carry it. I was saving this present until I knew you were going to be home"
You: " nat. All I want is a child, the white picket fence, maybe a golden retriever dog and the family car. I want normal, we can do normal. I'm ready for this. I love you"
Nat: " I love you too. Now let's get some rest"
This time, she's cuddled up to me as I stroke her hair. She doesn't like being the soft one but every now and again her guard comes down. However mine melts as soon as I see her.
